Well...

It's here.  The new year.  2012.

Happy New Year.

Remember the Boy Scout motto...  "Be Prepared"

Stay safe.

Good Morning, World!

It's the last day of 2011.  Wow.  Where did it go?

What does the future hold for us?  Will 2012 be the year that we come together and find our direction?  Will we start back on the road to regaining our freedoms?

We have a lot of work to do.  No one can doubt that.

2012 is going to be an interesting year.

I'm going to finish out 2011 by going to a local gun show.  I like gun shows.  :)

And by wishing Adrienne a Happy Birthday.  :)

Stay safe, friends.

How the feds are tracking your kid

Would it bother you to know that the federal Centers for Disease Control had been shown your daughter’s health records to see how she responded to an STD/teen-pregnancy-prevention program? How about if the federal Department of Education and Department of Labor scrutinized your son’s academic performance to see if he should be “encouraged” to leave high school early to learn a trade? Would you think the government was intruding on your territory as a parent?
Under regulations the Obama Department of Education released this month, these scenarios could become reality. The department has taken a giant step toward creating a de facto national student database that will track students by their personal information from preschool through career. Although current federal law prohibits this, the department decided to ignore Congress and, in effect, rewrite the law. Student privacy and parental authority will suffer.

A new mate for "Big Thunder".

This one is a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .223.

She will complement nicely the Remington 700 SPS Varmint that I own in .308.

Scope, rings, and base should be here later this week.

Redneck Machine Shop modification to the bolt handle could happen yet this week.  Depends on my motivation.  Worked very well on the .308 and took less than an hour.

I'm sorta excited to get her out to the range and see how she shoots.

Christmas far away...

December 25, 2004

A Christmas message from an Iraqi

Omar from Iraq the Model writes:
It's really hard for us that a beautiful occasion like Christmas comes in sad days like the ones we've been through in Iraq last week.
We lost tens of our Iraqi brothers in Najaf, Kerbala and other Iraqi cities. Those people did nothing wrong except dreaming of a normal life; a dream that is seen as a crime in the eyes of the terrorists.
And we lost tens of our friends in the coalition who did nothing wrong but helping Iraqis in making their dreams come true; and that's another crime in the eyes of the terrorists.
It's never easy for us to see the blood of our brothers and friends being shed everyday but we should also remember that great goals to be achieved need great sacrifices and now it's our duty; we, who are still breathing must make sure that the priceless blood of our brothers and friends was not shed in vain and we should remember that the sacrifices they made were made for a noble reason.
Huge responsibilities are waiting for us; responsibilities towards the coming generations and responsibilities towards the brave ones who sacrificed their lives on the frontline.
We cannot let despair walk into our hearts now and we must keep the faith in our cause and keep the hard work until the dreams of our loved ones come true and I believe we should learn the lesson from the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ who offered his life for the cause he believed in and struggled for; freedom and justice.
Lets all pray for the souls of those who lost their lives defending freedom and justice.
Merry Christmas everyone and may the next Christmas come in better days.

Merry Christmas!

I've experienced a lot of Christmas' in my lifetime.  Some here, some there.  Some have been better than others, but all were good.  All were good.

My parents and grandparents are gone.  I will think of them this Christmas.  Good memories.

2 of my sons are here, near-by.  We will get together for a Christmas Eve dinner and some family time tonight.  We will share gifts and family time tomorrow, for awhile.

My youngest son is in Arizona.  I'll miss him and wish that he were here.  I hope he enjoys the day.

My 2 grandsons are with their mother in Indiana.  I wish that they were here.  You do what you do, I guess.  Life is good.

I sincerely hope that each and every one of you has a very Merry Christmas.  Remember the reason for the season.  :)

Enjoy!

Stay safe.

Hyphenated American...

I know that this has been posted at other times and in other places.  I post it here because it is worth reading and giving thought to.

“There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.
“This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.
“But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.
“The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.
“The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American.”

Allen West says Holder using last Race Card in the deck...

From David P. in S.C...

Florida Republican Rep. Allen West told The Daily Caller on Monday that Attorney General Eric Holder’s use of the race card as a way to attack those who are criticizing him is “reprehensible.”
“I think this is absolutely the last card in the deck, and that shows how weak their ground is,” West said in a phone interview. “But, what that means is they want to make white individuals afraid of continuing to put the pressure on Eric Holder because they don’t want to be seen as racist, and that is something that we have got to move beyond.”
Holder had told The New York Times over the weekend, in a front page Sunday story, that he thinks those who are criticizing him have racial motivations to do so. Holder said some unspecified faction — what he refers to as the “more extreme segment” — is driven to criticize both him and President Barack Obama due to the color of their skin. Holder did not appear to elaborate on who he considered to make up the “more extreme segment.” (RELATED: NYT runs ‘Fast and Furious’ factual inaccuracy, favoring Holder)
“This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” Holder said, according to the Times. “Both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.” (RELATED: Justice Dept silent as Holder charges critics with racism)
West said Holder can’t logically assign race as a motivation behind the criticisms for his handling of Operation Fast and Furious. “What Fast and Furious has to do with is misleading the Congress and the American people about what you knew about this program, and if you did not know anything about this program, then who’s in charge of the Department of Justice?” West said. “It has nothing to do with your race — it has everything to do with competence, with your character and with your ability to lead the Department of Justice.”
West said Holder’s use of race as a way to attack his critics is “the most insidious thing I ever heard.”
“I grew up in the United States military and it’s not about your color, it’s about your competence, it’s about your abilities to execute a mission,” West said. “If your commanding officer turns heat on you, it’s because you have failed to achieve the mission and I think what we’re doing is we’re looking at something that was a very horrible program — this Operation Fast and Furious.”

Electric Fence...

(WARNING!!  Do NOT drink anything while reading this!  Failure to follow this simple rule will result in your snorting fluids through your nostrils, and you have been forewarned!!!)

We have the standard 6ft. Fence in the backyard, and a few months ago, I heard about burglaries increasing dramatically in the entire city.  To make sure this never happened to me, I got an electric fence and ran a single wire along the top of the fence.  Actually, I got the biggest Cattle charger Tractor Supply had, made for 26 miles of fence.

I then used an 8 ft. Long ground rod, drove 7.5 feet into the ground. The ground rod is the key, with the more you have in the ground, the better the fence works.

One day I'm mowing the back yard with my cheapo Walmart 6hp bigwheel pushmower.  The hot wire is broken and laying out in the yard. I knew for a fact that I unplugged the charger.  I pushed the mower around the wire and reached down to grab it, to throw it out of the way.  It seems as though I hadn't remembered to unplug it after all.

Now I'm standing there, I've got the running lawnmower in my right hand and the 1.7 gigavolt fencewire in the other hand.  Keep in mind the charger is about the size of a marine battery and has a picture of an upside down cow on fire on the cover.

Time stood still.  The first thing I notice is my testicles trying to climb up the front side of my body.  My ears curled downwards and I could feel the lawnmower ignition firing in the backside of my brain. Every time that Briggs & Stratton rolled over, I could feel the spark in my head. I was literally at one with the engine.  It seems as though the fence charger and the POS lawnmower were fighting over who would control my electrical impulses.

Science says one cannot defecate, urinate, and ejaculate all at the same time. I beg to differ.  Not only did I do all three at once, but my bowels emptied 3 different times in less than half of a second. It was a Matrix kind of bowel movement, where time is creeping along and you're all leaned back and BAM BAM BAM you just crap your pants 3 times.  It seemed like there were minutes in between but in reality it was so close together it was like exhaust pulses from a big block Chevy turning 8 grand.

At this point I'm about 30 minutes (maybe 2 seconds) into holding onto the fence wire.  My hand is wrapped around the wire palm down so I cant let go.  I grew up on a farm so I know all about electric fences... But Dad always had those POS chargers made by International or whoever that were like 9 volts and just kinda tickled.  This I could not let go of. The 8 foot long ground rod is now accepting signals from me through the permadamp Ark-La-Tex river bottom soil.  At this point I'm thinking I'm going to have to just man up and take it, until the lawnmower runs out of gas.

'GOODNESS!, I think, as I remember I just filled the tank! Now the lawnmower is starting to run rough.  It has settled into a loping run pattern as if it had some kind of big lawnmower race cam in it. Covered in poop, pee, semen, and with my testicles on my chest I think 'Oh,  Please die... Pleeeeze die'.

But nooooo, it settles into the rough lumpy cam idle nicely and remains there, like a big bore roller cam EFI motor waiting for the go command from its owner's right foot.

So here I am in the middle of July, 104 degrees, 80% humidity, standing in my own backyard, begging God to kill me. God did not take me that day...he left me there covered in my own fluids to writhe in the misery my own stupidity had created.

I honestly don't know how I got loose from the wire... I woke up laying on the ground hours later. The lawnmower was beside me, out of gas.  It was later on in the day and I was sunburned. There were two large dead grass spots where I had been standing, and then another long skinny dead spot were the wire had layed while I was on the ground still holding on to it.

I assume I finally had a seizure and in the resulting thrashing had somehow let go of the wire. Upon waking from my electrically induced sleep I realized a few things:

1- Three of my teeth seem to have melted.
2- I now have cramps in the bottoms of my feet and my right butt cheek (not the left, just the right).
3- Poop, pee, and semen when all mixed together, do not smell as bad a you might first think.
4- My left eye will not open.
5- My right eye will not close.
6- The lawnmower runs like a banshee now. Seriously! I think our little session cleared out some carbon fouling or something, because it was better than new after that.
7- My testicles are still smaller than average yet they are almost a foot long.
8- I can turn on the TV in the gameroom by farting while thinking of the number 4 (still don't understand this?)

That day changed my life.  I now have a newfound respect for things.  I appreciate the little things more, and now I always triple check to make sure the fence is unplugged before I mow.

The good news, is that if a burglar does try to come over the fence, I can clearly visualize what my security system will do to him, and THAT gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling all over, which also reminds me to triple check before I mow.

Stay safe.

Last day of deer hunting...

 Sunrise...
 Watching...
 More aliens...  They're everywhere!
 Old panel van...
 Ford Customliner...
The quarry...

Skunked this year.  Doesn't happen often but, well, it happens.

Saw a lot of sign.  I saw one doe yesterday, Carl saw 2 on Saturday.  Saw two small does being carted out of one of the areas that we hunted on Friday.  A little snow would have helped.  Not that I want snow.  I hope we don't get any this year.   We have had 3 brutal winters in a row so I think we deserve a very mild one this year.  I suspect that ain't a gonna happen.

The up side is that I spent 5 days in the field with my oldest son.  He was a late starter to the hunting scene.  Had other things going on when he was a kid.  (Ice Hockey)  Ahhh well....  He came around :)

It ended up being 50 degrees today.  Definitely overdressed as the day progressed.  It was good for sitting but not so much for walking.  It's been a long time since it was 50 degrees in the middle of December in Iowa.

Anyway, that's about it.

Lyrics...

Two Hangman By Mason Profitt...

AS I RODE INTO TOMBSTONE ON MY HORSE HIS NAME WAS MAC
I SAW WHAT I’LL RELATE TO YOU GOIN’ ON BEHIND MY BACK
IT SEEMS THE FOLKS WERE UP IN ARMS
A MAN NOW HAD TO DIE
FOR BELIEVING THINGS THAT DIDN’T FIT
THE LAWS THEY’D SET ASIDE

The mans name was Im A Freak
HE WAS AN EXCECUTIONER, A HANGMAN JUST LIKE ME
I GUESS THAT HE’D SEEN LOOPHOLES FROM WORKIN WITH HIS NOOSE
HE’D HUNG THE WRONG MAN MANY TIMES TO COVER UP THE TRUTH

HE’D TALKED TO ALL THE PEOPLE FROM HIS SCAFFOLD IN THE SQUARE
HE TOLD THEM OF THE THINGS HE’D FOUND
BUT THEY DIDN’T SEEM TO CARE
SO WHAT IF SOMEONE HAD TO DIE
TO KEEP -A RICHES IN THEIR HANDS
THEY LAUGHED AT HIM AND WALKED AWAY
HE DIDN’T UNDERSTAND

AND SO THE HIGH SHERIFF CAME AROUND
HE SAID HE’D HAD ENOUGH
HE’D MAKE THE HANGMAN SHUT HIS MOUTH
AND PUT AN END TO ALL THIS STUFF
HE FINALLY ARRESTED HIM
AND THEN HE SENT FOR ME
TO HANG A FELLOW HANGMAN
FROM A FELLOW HANGMANS TREE

IT DIDN’T TAKE THEM LONG TO TRY HIM
IN THEIR COURT OF LAW
HE WAS GUILTY OF HONESTY
A CRIME WORSE THAN ALL
THEY SENTENCED HIM TO DIE
SO THE SEEDS OF LOVE CAN’T SPREAD
AND INFECT THE LITTLE CHILDREN
THAT’S WHAT THE LAW HAD SAID

SO THE HANGIN’ DAY CAME ROUND
AND HE WALKED UP TO THE NOOSE
I PULLED THE LEVER BUT BEFORE HE FEEL I CUT HIM LOOSE
THEY CALLED IT ALL CONSPIRACY AND THAT I HAD TO DIE
SO TO CLOSE OUR MOUTHS AND KILL OUR MINDS
THEY HUNG US SIDE BY SIDE

AND NOW WE’RE TWO HANGMEN HANGIN FROM A TREE
THAT DON’T BOTHER ME AT ALL

Archaeology...

Three archaeology digs:

After having  dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York
scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came
to the conclusion that their ancestors  already had a telephone
network more than 100 years  ago.

Not  to be outdone by the New Yorkers, a California archaeologist dug
to a depth of 20 feet and shortly  after, a story in an LA newspaper
read: "California  archaeologists discover 200 year old copper wire,
they have concluded that their ancestors already had an  advanced
high-tech communications network a hundred  years earlier than the New
Yorkers."

One week later, a local newspaper in Iowa reported the following:
"After digging as deep as 30 feet in his  pasture near Story City,
Iowa, Ole, a self-taught  archaeologist, reported that he found
absolutely  nothing. Ole, has therefore concluded that 300 years ago,
Iowa  had already gone wireless."

It makes one proud to have lived in the great state of Iowa.

It's been a year...

It was a year ago today that this turkey known as Blue's Blog hit the blogosphere.

It does my heart good to realize that there are so many folks out there who love this country and want to make her right again.

It's all good.

Hacked...

Folks,

It appears that my email was hacked today and used to send a couple (or more) emails to most of the people in my address book.

There is no subject line in the email.  I always put something in the subject line.

If you open the email(s) it has a link or web address to click on that ends with a co.cc domain.

If you click on the link it redirects you to some other website that's selling something.

I would suggest deleting it without opening it.

Again, if I send you an email there will be something in the subject line.

Sorry 'bout that.

Investigation...

The Air Force has launched an investigation into a controversial photo that shows several non-commissioned officers posing with an open casket, in which a fellow airman poses with a noose around his neck and chains over his body.

The Air Force Times received a copy of the photo over email, which includes the caption, "Da Dumpt, Da Dumpt …. Sucks 2 Be U." The casket is similar to those used to transport deceased U.S. soldiers home from the battlefield.
Air Force Secretary Michael Donley told the paper that investigators were mounting an inquiry of the grief the image might cause for families of fallen service members. "We take this matter seriously. [Air Education and Training Command] has initiated a commander directed investigation," Donley said in a statement...

Read the rest here at yahoo news...

Obviously not a very neat deal.  There is some rank in the picture.  All of these Airmen should have known better but there are some senior Airmen in the picture who really should have known better.

Everyone who has ever been in the military has done something dumb, probably on a fairly grand scale.  Many have taken pictures of "doing something dumb".  (myself included)  Our world of instantaneous communication makes it much easier to get into big shit in short order when doing something dumb.

Were their intentions malicious?  Probably not.  A brief moment in time with some young people goofing off.  Was it the right thing to do?  Obviously not.  Was it insensitive?  I think anyone would agree that it was.  Is it being taken out of context?  Probably.  It will probably be a "career ender" for some of these folks.

I have to ask:  "What were they thinking?"

Flickertails...

In 1930 the University of North Dakota changed the name of it's mascot and sports teams from The Flickertails to The Fighting Sioux.  Can you imagine the UND Flickertails taking the ice against the Minnesota Golden Gophers?  OOPS!  Not a good example.  (I'm a huge Gophers fan, BTW...)  How about the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame or the Spartans of Michigan State or the Michigan Wolverines?

We have the Seminoles in Florida, the Redskins in Washington, The Black Hawks in Chicago and in Waterloo, Iowa, and many other similar names in many other places.

How many sports teams in this country have been named after Indians or Indian tribes?  Too many to count.

The PC establishment in this country takes offense to these names claiming that it is disrespectful or offensive to the people and the tribes that these teams are named after.

Here's a story that was in our local paper today...

Craziness.

"Two campaigns began Tuesday that would let voters decide whether the University of North Dakota should keep it's Fighting Sioux nickname in spite of penalties by the NCAA, which considers it offensive to American Indians."

There are a lot of sports teams that use "American Indian" names and symbols.  They certainly aren't meant to be offensive to American Indians or to anyone else.  It is a source of pride to these schools.  These names are chosen to symbolize winners and warriors.  (Remember when winning and losing were a normal part of the human condition?)

No one chooses an American Indian name for their team to bring shame or derision upon themselves.  It is done out of respect.

The only people these names offend are the PC police who want to control everything in our society.

I'd rather be known as a "Fighting Sioux" than a "Flickertail".  That's just me.

Don't we have more important things to worry about?

Oil...

From David P. in S.C...

"The United States possesses 1.4 trillion barrels of recoverable oil, more than the oil the entire world has consumed during the past 150 years, according to an Institute for Energy Research report released last week. Add in an estimated 2.7 quadrillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas and 486.1 billion short tons of recoverable coal, and our energy reserves exceed those of any other nation on Earth. The American economy will not prosper until we get government out of the way and let the private sector power our future using the most efficient sources available. For that to happen, the next administration must reject any redistributionist U.N. treaty designed to soak billions from U.S. taxpayers based on bogus climate claims."

Grassley News Alert...

The latest congressional hearing on the MF Global collapse at last is yielding some revelations on what happened and who knew what when.
An executive of a financial exchange that oversees MF Global testified that the former head of the firm, Jon Corzine, may have known the firm was using customer funds to make a $175 million loan to a European affiliate.  This statement from the head of the CME Group struck one of my fellow senators on the Agriculture Committee as a “bomb.”
It strikes me as a bombshell, too, because just minutes before, Mr. Corzine continued to express his lack of understanding of how MF Global lost up to $1.2 billion in customer funds – including money from Iowa farmers and brokers.
The revelation wasn’t in any prepared testimony.  It came in response to senators’ questions.   Many of us did our jobs to try to get answers.  You can watch my exchange with the witnesses here and read about it here.  You can watch the full hearing here.
It goes to show that congressional oversight – the kind I try to practice every day – yields results.  Customer money doesn’t disappear on its own.  Those responsible can and should be brought to account, whether it’s firms playing fast and loose with customer money in violation of the law or the regulators who are supposed to stop malfeasance.

Range time, ammo test...

I was contacted by Steven Otterbacher at Bulk Ammo.Com quite some time ago and asked if I'd be willing to try some of his ammo and write a review about it.  After some difficulty (all on my end) getting in contact with each other and making the arrangements, I agreed to try a box of ammo in .308 Winchester.  Steven sent me 20 rounds of Fiocchi Extrema  loaded with Sierra Gameking bullets.  These are a 168 gr. HPBT round.

I have to apologize to Steven for the amount of time that it took to get this review done.   I think he originally contacted me over 2 months ago.  My bad.

Anyway, I was finally able to get a bench at the range today and was able to fire the Fioccchi ammo alongside the Federal American Eagle 150 gr. FMJBT ammo that I usually shoot at the range.

What I discovered is that there is quite a bit of difference between the 2 rounds.  Quite noticable to an old shaky guy like me :)

First, today's weather:

43* F
Wind was calm
Sky was overcast

The rifle:

Remington 700 SPS Varmint
Choate Tactical stock
SWFA 10 X 42 Super Sniper scope
Millet 30mm rings and Millet one piece 0 MOA base
Harris 1A2 Bipod
13 pounds 7 ounces total weight

I started at the 50 yard range firing the American Eagle to make sure my zero was good.  A couple of small adjustments had the rounds in the center of the target, got my breathing a bit more under control, and warmed the barrel up.

First 10 rounds in the 10 ring, small adjustment to get in the "X"...

A couple of passes through the barrel with the BoreSnake...

Then over to the 100 yard range and the test...

168 gr. HPBT Sierra Gameking bullets...

Well packaged in one plastic holder...

Business end of the HPBT round...

 Ready to rock...

The scope says about 105 yds...

This ammo was a pleasure to shoot...

3 rounds in the zero target, 16 in the body, one just to make sure...

 Much tighter group...

Yes, I have a bit of a breathing control problem...

 100 yards...

10 rounds of the Federal to the head of the right target at 100 yds.  Not quite as tight as they were at 50 yards.  Could've just been me.
20 rounds of the Fiocchi sent downrange to the left target.  3 to the zero target. 16 to the body, one to the head.

You can see that the American Eagle to the head spread out a bit at 100 yards compared to the rounds to the "X" ring at 50 yards.  It's still good ammo and I will continue to use it at the range.

 20 rounds...

30 rounds...

The rifle I used today is heavy by anyone's standards so recoil is always managable.  The felt recoil of the Fiocchi test rounds seemed a bit less than the lighter Federal rounds.  My imagination?  I don't know.

The ammo seemed to burn clean and the bullets looked very neat and consistant.  Overall length of each round was consistant.  The brass is reloadable.

I was impressed with the Fiocchi ammo.  I wish I had slipped over to the 200 yard range to fire a few rounds there.  I suppose I would have just embarrassed myself :)  Like I said, I have a bit of a breathing problem and a trigger anticipation problem.  I don't take this rifle to the range as often as I should.  Even with those personal shortcomings, this ammo did a nice consistant job of punching paper.

I have no doubt that it would work very well at much longer distances than I shot at.

At $26 per box it would make excellent hunting ammo, which is obviously it's intended purpose.  A bit pricey for range ammo, but such a pleasure to shoot!

Thanks to Steven Otterbacher for providing the ammunition and for his patience.  Dealing with Steven and bulkammo.com was a pleasure.

Check out their website if you're in the market for ammo.  They have a very large selection of all calibers and brands.  Good people to deal with.

Disclaimer:  I was compensated for this review by the box of ammo and the cost of shipping it to me.  There was no further compensation.

Stay safe.

No balls...

From David P. in S.C.

Last week in Boston, a seven-year-old boy named Mark got into a fight with a bully. The bully put his hands around the boy's throat and began to squeeze. That's when Mark fought back; he kicked his aggressor right in the family jewels. In a normal society, we'd celebrate Mark. Throw him a ticker tape parade or something. Bullies need a sharp kick to the testicles. That's how you convince them that bullying is wrong.
But in Boston, Mark was charged with sexual assault.
Just to get this straight: Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank's gay lover can run a homosexual prostitution ring from his apartment and Frank will not be prosecuted. But a boy kicks a bully in the berries and he faces expulsion from school.
It's not the bully who lost his chestnuts. It's our country.
At some point in the recent past, America moved from the Gilded Age to the Gelded Age. It's no longer considered polite to beat up bullies -- that's simply not "tolerant." All this chatter from the left about the problem of bullying -- Lady Gaga is visiting the White House this week to tell her subordinate, President Obama, what to do about it -- is so much nonsense. The left has no idea how to solve the bullying problem. They treat all violence as equal -- Mark and the bully are on the same moral plane -- and so they recommend counseling and training, as though a little classroom instruction can solve boys' basic biological urge toward aggression.
Have these people ever met little boys?
Apparently not. Lady Gaga has only met her "little monsters," androgynous pantywaists with no distinguishing sexual characteristics. She thinks that homosexual boys are "born this way," but bullies can be changed by a few sensitivity training sessions. The sad truth is that biology can only be overcome by real conditioning, not by nattering. And in the case of bullies, conditioning equals physical violence.
But in our country today, that solution is considered as bad as the problem. The left has instead come up with an alternative solution: eunichism. If male biology drives violence, we have to wash that man right out of the young boys' hair. We will train them not to use toy guns but to play with dolls. We will teach them that heterosexuality and homosexuality are equals, since all sexes are the same. We will teach them that fighting bullies is the same as being a bully. No wonder the left isn't all that upset about female genital mutilation in Muslim countries, they're busily removing the testes of our young boys right here at home.
There's only one problem with this beautiful new world of asexualism: It's idiotic. All we do is train good boys to be pansies; bullies, meanwhile, continue to be bullies. Jerry Sandusky wasn't going to stop raping little boys based on taking a few seminars -- but Mike McQueary was going to avoid reporting that rape to police if he was trained into spinelessness by the surrounding culture. The Muslim Brotherhood isn't going to stop its aggressive pursuit of worldwide Shariah if we offer its members free Lady Gaga tickets and a shopping spree at Sephora. But Western civilization will let them do it if we spend enough time decrying our own aggressive instinct.
The fact is that males' aggressive instinct is good for the world, if channeled properly. Without it, Hitler goes unpunished. Without it, millions continue to starve in the Soviet Union. The key to the aggressive instinct is training it to act along proper moral lines, not eradicating it.
The American people know that down deep. A few months back, a video went viral of a young Sydney boy, Casey Heynes, being bullied by a younger attacker, Richard. Richard punches the much larger Heynes in the face. Then he punches him again. Finally, Heynes can stand it no longer: He picks up Richard and body-slams him to the ground. Richard gets up and wobbles around, off camera. End video.
Elites of the world decried Heynes' behavior. "We don't believe that violence is ever the answer," said John Dalgleish, head of research at Kids Helpline and Boys Town. But tribute sites went up on the Internet to Heynes; videos celebrating his heroics became common fodder. As everyone who has ever faced down a bully knows, the only way to stop a bully is to show him that physical force won't get him anywhere. The only way to show him that is to beat the hell out of him.
We live in a world of bullies. So long as we continue to psychologically castrate our own boys, the bullies of the world will continue winning. We will continue asking why they hate us, and they will continue choking the life out of us. Only if we re-learn to kick them in the cojones rather than removing our own will we emerge victorious.

Hit me in the face or put your hands around my throat.  Lets see what happens.

It's insane...

Michael Savage has offered Newt $1 million to drop out of the 2012 Presidential race saying that "Mitt Romney is the only Republican who can beat obama".  Read it here.

I don't like Romney any more than I like obama, which isn't much.  Don't care much for Newt, either.

I do believe that in the eyes of the RNC it's Romney's "turn" and that he will get the nod.  The fix is in.  It's a done deal.  Nothing we can do about it.  That just goes to show how messed up our system really is.

What would be wrong with finding and nominating the very best person for the job?  I suspect that "that person" doesn't want the job.  I can't really believe that anyone would want the job.  The "Mainstream Politicians" are all a bunch of power hungry egomaniacs.  I have no confidence in any of them.

It takes a certain type of person to run for national office these days and, I hate to say it, they aren't the type of people we want in the offices we elect them to.  We could do better, but we won't.

I can't believe it's going to last much longer.

I think that The People are fed up, or are on the verge of being fed up.  We are at the tipping point.

 Thanks to Theodoresworld.com

Y'all better hang on cuz these next few years is gonna be a wild ride.

The gubbmint knows that The People are fed up and the gubbmint will do anything it has to in order to remain in power.  That's whats gonna make it ugly.  The PTB don't want change.  They like things the way they are.  They are comfortable.  They have the power to make sure that things stay the way they want them.  They have all the money and all the really neat toys.

And most Amerikans are fine with that.

Stay safe.

Deer hunting...

Not very purdy.  Damned cold...

 My oldest son, Carl...

 Old farm machinery...

 Parts...

 Business end of 870...

 Yesterday's sunset...

Brand new gate vandalized...  My tax dollars, wasted.

More vandalism...  MY tax dollars, wasted.

Well used 870.  She has a few miles on 'er but still works fine:)

 :)

Poached.  Loins and hams gone.  No tag.  I hate people who do this stuff.

 Carl watching...

Today's sunset...

Carl and I spent the weekend deer hunting.  No luck, but that's alright.  7 more days to go :)  There is still plenty of time.

I've never understood the concept of party hunting.  That's where a large group go into the woods and 3/4 of the party go push through the woods so the other 1/4 can blow the deer away when they are "pushed" into them.  Doesn't seem very sporting to me.  Sounds like a firefight when they start shooting.  Oh well.  It's legal.  Doesn't make it right.

Met up with a gal and her husband out in the woods today and started talking.  Turns out that the guy was a friend of mine from elementary school.  Haven't seen him in 46 years.  I have to say that it was an excellent day!
