How did I miss this...?

117th CONGRESS
1st Session

H. R. 127

To provide for the licensing of firearm and ammunition possession and the registration of firearms, and to prohibit the possession of certain ammunition.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
January 4, 2021

Ms. Jackson Lee introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL

To provide for the licensing of firearm and ammunition possession and the registration of firearms, and to prohibit the possession of certain ammunition.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act”.

SEC. 2. Licensing of firearm and ammunition possession; registration of firearms.

Read it all here.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How did I miss this?  Introduced by Ms. Jackson Lee on the 4th of January.  2 days before the Troubles in DC...
I actually saw comments about "HR 127" on a friend's fb post this morning.  Someone commented to him that "...the people will revolt".  That had my attention.  I really hope it goes nowhere because, quite simply, the psychopaths now control both houses of the congress and the White House.   They Powers That Be still have 7,500 National Guard troopers standing by in DC.  To protect them.  And, IMHO, if it did become law, Americans would comply.  Because that's what we do.  Regardless, it is obvious that gun control efforts are on the horizon.  They won't let up.
Promises made, ya know...  Masters to keep happy.
Anyway, take a few minutes and read the whole thing.  It is interesting.  Remember, it is your family, your friends, and your neighbors who get behind legislation like this.  They take the time to write the letters and to make the calls and to knock on the doors.  And as politically naive as they are, they go to the polls and vote.  It is why we are where we are,  I'm sure they're cheering Jackson Lee as some kind of hero, in certain quarters.
Mandatory registration, taxes, liability insurance, mental health examinations...  These things would affect you, if they were to become law.
Please read the bill.
This shit is real.
It's the first step in satisfying the biggest wet dream of those on the Left.
Write the letters, make the calls.  If you don't, who will?  Don't let up.  The Grabbers won't...
Find your Senator: https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact
Find your Congress Critter:  https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
It wouldn't hurt to find your State Representatives and contact them as well.  Establish a relationship with them.  Correspond regularly.  Know what's going on.   Educate yourself.
Be polite, but firm...
Stay safe.
The future is now...
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
I'm guessing that this isn't far from the truth.  Who knows?  If you have been paying attention to the fallout from the January 6th demonstrations (insurrection? uprising? coup attempt?) in Washington D.C., you are aware that the definition of words has changed, that the Progressive media, at the behest of Progressive politicians, is streaming a new and dangerous narrative to America in the hope that  Progressive listeners will be on board with the complete crushing of political opposition.  Never let a crisis go to waste.
Do you think I'm kidding?
I don't think it's an overstatement to say that these are dangerous times.  The Progressive Left wants to change everything about America.  They hate this racist, sexist, xenophobic, white supremacist nation.  They want it destroyed and replaced with something of their choosing, something that they control completely
Do you think I'm kidding?
If they are allowed to implement their agenda the way they want to, this country that we live in will be America in name only.
Do you think I'm kidding?
There is an all out war against Conservative America going on right now.  It has been going on, unopposed, for years.  The Right is, right now, very late to the game.
Not kidding.
Have a nice day.
Stay safe.
Peace
You've been put on notice...
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
~~George Orwell, 1984
If you aren't with the Left, you are against them.  If you support Right wing values, if you question the current narrative from the Left regarding elections and the definitions of insurrection, coup attempt, attempt to overthrow the government currently being paraded by the Left, if you support Right Wing causes on social media by commenting on or reacting in a positive manner to people supporting Conservative causes, you are now a Domestic Terrorist with a political agenda.
I don't think that's an overreaction.
If you are a former Navy Seal whose duties included intelligence gathering with/for the CIA, taking part in disinformation and misinformation programs directed at influencing people and outcomes, being trained to recognize misinformation and disinformation campaigns and being respected for your abilities in doing so, and you harbor Right wing tendencies and you support Right wing policies and you act out and speak out on your beliefs, you are a Domestic Terrorist, a Right Wing Terrorist...
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/26/us/navy-seal-adam-newbold-capitol.html?utm_source=pocket&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pockethits
And all of this is new, this political agenda business.  None of the riots or demonstrations, none of the lives lost or bottles and rocks thrown last summer were in support of a political agenda.  Or something.
In a June 2020 interview, U.S. Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris said of the nationwide anti-police brutality protests: “Everyone beware. They're not gonna stop before election day in November, and they're not gonna stop after election day ... They’re not gonna let up, and they should not.”  (@snopes)
When does a demonstration become a riot?  Were the actions of the Conservatives in DC on January 6th a riot?  An armed uprising?  A coup attempt?  An attempt to overthrow the government?  IMHO, no...  It was an otherwise peaceful demonstration until the Capitol Police stood back and allowed demonstrators unfettered access to the hallways of Congress.  Those demonstrators took advantage of the situation that was presented to them.  No more, no less.  Were they dumb? Yeah, maybe.  Did they misbehave?  Again, yeah.  Were they violent rioters trying to overthrow the government?  LOL.  No.
The only gunfire that resulted in injury (death) was when an armed Capitol Police officer fired his service weapon through a small opening in a broken (frosted) window at a face on the other side.  He was not threatened, he had no reason to fear for his life, he didn't know his target, he fired anyway and a life was lost... He was grossly negligent.  He needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as does the demonstrator who killed a Capitol Police officer with a fire extinguisher.
Those in power today seriously believe that all Americans are stupid.   That much is obvious.  It appears that the folks on the Right are not going to be silent any longer.
I don't know what to say anymore, I don't know what to think.  Like Bonnie Tyler said... "we're livin' in a powder keg and givin' off sparks..."
Anyway... be careful.  Stay safe.  It isn't paranoia if you think you are being watched when you are... ;)
Peace
It didn't happen...
    Portland last night (NY Post)
    Portland last night  (NY Times)
I can't say I'm disappointed.  I got up this morning to see where all of the Right wing riots and insurrection took place yesterday.  It didn't.  The shills on the Left assured us that there would be Right wing violence at State Houses and other government buildings in protest of the Harris-Biden inaugurations.  Nothing.
I did read where Leftists did some more damage in Portland and Seattle.  Damaged the Democrat Party headquarters in Portland.  Leftists protesting the Harris-Biden administration.  "We won't be governed", they said.  Leftists.  Harris-Biden isn't far enough Left for them...
Link here.
And I got on the fb thinking that the smugness and arrogance shown by our friends on the Left yesterday, shoving it in the faces of anyone who is not with them, would be toned down a bit.  Not so.  They are still smug and arrogant.
Within 2 minutes of reading the posts of people I know, I saw the use of the terms Trumpanzees, Trumpsters, Trumpettes, Trumpkins, Trumpites, Trumptards, and Trumpshits to describe people who did not support Harris-Biden.  After 8 years of calling those who disagree with them racists, misogynists, homophobes. xenophobes, white supremacists, nazis, etc, then 4 years of the "Trumpisms", you would think that those Leftists would have grown up.  There was name-calling by the Left during the administration of Bush II as well.  It is apparently one of the favorite tools of the mental giants when disparaging anyone who doesn't agree with them.
There is no growing up of Leftists.  There will be no "unity and cooperation" during this administration.  Not because the Right refuses, but because the Left will not allow it.
I had a Liberal friend from Iowa City tell me one day that "If you aren't actively supporting the cause, you are against the cause".  That was during last summer's peaceful protests.  He is nearly my age.  What the actual fuck is "the cause"?
Oh, Happy Days!
Stay safe.
Things to smile about...
Judy has been gone nearly 4 years.  I think that by now we have all lost someone we love.  Losing your spouse is especially painful.  Losing your spouse suddenly and without warning is incredibly painful.  Losing your spouse because someone was inept and made errors that should not have been made at that hour of that particular day is excruciating.  When an ER doctor and his nurse are distracted by personal issues...
You relive those hours every single day.
We were married 44 years.  We had plans.
But we learn to cope, to move forward.  It doesn't get easier.  It doesn't get better.  It becomes more tolerable.
And sometimes something happens, or you see something, or smell something, or find something that makes you smile.
Judy has been gone nearly 4 years and I am still going through her things.  For some people it is easy, for others, not so much...
Anyway, I was looking through some things this morning and found a couple of Judy's albums that hold pictures of our Grandkids.  Grandmothers have a special bond with the children of their children.
The photos below brought a smile to my face.  It was nice.
She wrote on the back of the top photo "the 3 stooges" I wonder what she meant by that? ;)  August of 2005.
Anyway...
Striking fear...
From The Conversation:
Thousands of police and soldiers – people professionally trained in the use of violence and familiar with military protocols – are part of an extremist effort to undermine the U.S. government and subvert the democratic process.
According to an investigative report published in the Atlantic in November into a leaked database kept by the Oath Keepers – one of several far-right and white supremacist militias that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 – 10% of Oath Keepers are current police officers or military members. Another significant portion of the group’s membership is retired military and law enforcement personnel.
The hate group – founded by a former Army paratrooper after Barack Obama’s 2008 election – claimed “an improbable 30,000 members who were said to be mostly current and former military, law enforcement and emergency first responders” in 2016, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The Three Percenters, another militia present at the Capitol on Jan. 6, also draws a substantial portion of its members from law enforcement, both military and civilian. Larry Brock, a pro-Trump rioter arrested with zip-tie handcuffs, allegedly for taking hostages, is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who posted content from the Three Percenters online.
The Conversation.  One of the daily newsletters that I receive,and often read...  lol.  They bill themselves as apolitical.  They aren't.  Like so many other "neutral, unbiased" sources The Conversation has proven at times during these past 4 years to be anything but...
Anyway...
 Notice that they aren't allowing comments on this article.  There is so much misinformation included in the article that the author would be unable to defend his writing.
But my point is simply that the pogrom to eliminate the political Right in this country appears to be beginning...
I don't keep up with the Militia business in this country.  I have no idea who is who or what is going on.  I'm not sure I care.  Other than when people write articles like this one, articles whose only intention is to strike fear and denigrate the Right...  I'm old...
We will have a new President in a couple of hours and I simply pray for the health and safety of our nation.  There will likely be a lot of change, much of it will be contrary to the desires and beliefs of my friends on the Right.   ol' "Unity and Cooperation Joe" won't do much to promote unity and cooperation.  He will push the Progressive agenda, because that is what his bosses demand of him.
We shall see.  Keep smiling!  Think positive.
Stay safe.
Optics are reality...
In the world of politics, a world where optics are everything, the "peaceful transfer of power" of the political leadership of the most powerful nation on earth is going to take place tomorrow in a city occupied by armed military troops.  It's going to take place within a secure area behind razor wire, Jersey Barriers, sandbags, fences, and armed troops that American troops deployed to the world's most dangerous places would envy.
The Democrats will assume power behind the "protective barrier" of the world's most powerful military force.
Regardless of what happened on January 6th, I'm not sure this is the right message to be sending to the people of the United States and the world.  Though the Spin Meisters who control the media typically favor Democrats and the Left, I'm not sure that the message of military occupation in the nation's capital is one that the Harris-Biden administration can overcome.  That message is already constant and overblown.  The folks on the Right have long memories and have spent the last 12 years (at least) being constantly marginalized by the Left.  The folks on the Left are, at this moment, attempting to crush completely, the political force that represents fully 50% of the people of the United States.  They are trying to make totally insignificant the Conservative Right in the US.  This is the potential prize from the actions they are taking to exploit this "crisis that they refuse to waste"...  The destruction of meaningful political opposition to the power and policies of the Left.
I'm trying to think of the last time such a powerful military force was assembled inside the United States specifically to oppose a potential threat from citizens of the United States...  I have to ask, what prompted the folks in charge of this bit of theater to go from 5,000 National Guard troops to 6,400, to 10,000, to 25,000?  Holy crap!
There is always the potential for a few bad actors to show up.  Remember that the Trump Inauguration was mostly unattended, yet there were still riots in DC and around the country protesting Donald Trump.  Cars were burned, glass was broken, the Left had their day and their say.  yaddi yaddi yadda...
Anyway... I pray that the Inauguration of Harris and Biden is peaceful.  I pray that the United States is peaceful tomorrow and in the days to come.  I hope that the Right doesn't take matters into their own hands and behave the way the Left has so many times, including all of this past summer.
An article from Reuters regarding tomorrow's occupation activities is here...
Right now, not being a Leftist in America feels dangerous...
I guess only time will tell.
Stay safe.
Whooda thunk...?
Could be onto something here.  I thought Harris was the one, simply because, well...  Angry woman of color who is also an anchor baby.  Neither parent was a citizen.  Neither was trying to become a citizen.  But, anyway... Harris hit all of the Progressive's dream qualifications at once. I was curious, though, because I don't believe that Harris is too smart.  (Not that smart matters to the Democrats.  All they have to be is compliant.)  Well, she's smart about how to climb, not about policy and stuff... ;)
From Generic Views...
"I now know who will be the President after 20 January. It was a given that it wasn’t going to be Biden or Harris. Neither one had the Wasta to get it done. Biden, with his full on dementia, was never more than a cardboard cutout stand in for someone else. Now we know who he was keeping the seat warm for."
Makes sense...
BTW...  Office of the President Elect isn't in any way an official designation for anything involving the gubbmint.  It is a made up entity.  For ego purposes.  Like Never-Never Land...
The Greatest Show On Earth, Democrats in charge...
25,000 US troops called to duty to stand against the possibility of demonstrations by their fellow citizens. 25,000... That has to be a record, no?
It's actually kind of funny if you think about it. I suspect that the vast majority of the people that they claim to be concerned about causing trouble will be at work during the Inauguration...
The Democrats are going to start the Harris/Biden era with a massive show of military force. In Amerika.
Seems smart.
And the FBI is vetting the National Guard troops in DC...
Who's vetting the FBI?
Stay safe.
Sunday dinner conversations...
I copied this editorial in it's entirety from the Chicago Tribune.  Someone else had shared it on the fb.  I really hope that they don't mind, as I think it is important enough to share with everyone, including those of us who don't Trib...  I'm including the link to the original article.  Be aware that it contains a lot of "click bait" advertising. :)  Enjoy.
I spent summers as a kid with my Aunt at her Greek coffee shop in Hegwisch, which is a part of the greater Chicago metro area.   A different world.  She wasn't Greek, but my Uncle was :)  That's part of the attraction for me.  A good article.
Link here
In the pre-COVID-19 days, there were those large, intergenerational Sunday dinners when nothing was off the table for discussion in America.
Even now, if we were sitting down together, we’d talk of President Donald Trump lying to his supporters about overturning the election, before he incited a mob to storm the Capitol.
We might even talk of the push for political purges and tribal revenge fantasies, and of a nation that worries it is tearing itself apart.
America was tearing itself apart when I was a boy, back in the 1960s. And we’d talk about it at our Greek immigrant family Sunday dinners.
It was my first university.
Around the table were older liberal and conservative cousins, liberal and conservative uncles and aunts. Everybody could talk, even the kids like me. Snowflakes weren’t allowed. You had to defend your position. This is what we called “discussion” in the ancient times.
We talked politics, race, sports, family crises, Cousin Pete’s hatred of bluejeans, and stories of the village, about the horse falling into the well or Truman the family mule.
We’d talk about old “Twilight Zone” episodes like “The Obsolete Man,” when we imagined that it would be the political right, not the left, that would cancel ideas and cripple dissent.
When some would become angry, the wise aunts would tell us to hush and to put some slack back in our ropes. Then they’d bring out the galaktoboureko and coffee for dessert and we’d all settle down.
We were family. We didn’t split up over politics. And there was always next Sunday.
But there was one thing we hardly ever talked about.
It happened to the family only 20 years before. It hurt too much. It had been terrifying and unspeakably ugly, and the wounds were still too raw:
The Greek Civil War.
The occupation by the Germans and Italians was bad enough and Athens starved. But when they left and the Communists tried to take over, the unspeakable things began.
“It starts out as politics,” my late father once said about the Greek Civil War. “But when the blood gets in your eyes, it’s not about politics anymore. It’s personal.”
It all becomes license for personal revenge. That man who didn’t want you to marry his daughter; the family that may have bested you in business; that teacher who blocked you from entering university; that farmer who moved the border stones marking the fields to take your water.
Or now I suppose, it might involve those trying to deny you employment and a place in civil society because you’re on the wrong side of their politics.
I’m not saying we’re at the brink of armed conflict now. I would never advocate violence. I condemned Trump for inciting the riot, demanding those who stormed the Capitol be sent to prison.
Many conservatives and Republicans who agreed with Trump’s economic and anti-war foreign policy have said the same thing.
But what I’m seeing now worries me, with Democrats in power, in control of the executive branch and both houses of Congress because of Trump.
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” said former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
Like purging political opponents?
That kind of thing does encourage clicks on news sites, but there might come a time when things go beyond clicks.
Trump voters have already been kicked to the margins of society, beginning in 2016. They’ve been labeled as “deplorables,” and collectively as Nazis and racists, branded as subhumans by the ministers of political culture in media.
This might shock some pundits and political actors seeding the ground for Truth and Reconciliation Commissions. But would the creation of an enemies list make for a more stable nation, or make things worse?
Not all those who voted against Hillary Clinton in 2016 deserve to be painted by the same, broad, left-handed brush. In Washington the other day, many of the thousands who gathered to hear Trump were peaceful.
So too were many of those Democrats who protested in the cities in the summer when looters took over and arson fires burned businesses and killed the downtowns.
But the summer rioters weren’t condemned as evil by much of mainstream media. And Democrats hardly mentioned them at their convention.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was all about nonviolent protests. But he understood his nation too.
“But in the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has failed to hear?” he asked in 1967.
That quote was used by many in the media to excuse the violence in the Democratic cities in the summer.
But now, those in power and control of national politics, culture, the social media platforms and much of corporate media are making something clear.
They really don’t want to hear from the 74 million Americans who voted for Trump and who disagree with them. Instead, they condemn them. Or, at least that’s what many of those 74 million people think.
And those who voted for Trump aren’t eager to hear from the 81 million who voted for President-elect Joe Biden.
My aunts who brought out the sweets and coffee to settle us down at those family Sunday dinners have long passed.
They didn’t go to college. They read the newspapers for recipes, not punditry. But they knew firsthand what happens when politics becomes personal.
It’s unspeakable.
It’s what we didn’t want to talk about at those Sunday dinners when I was a boy.
It's all in how you look at it...
Someone sent this meme to me in a message on the fb.  Interesting.  And totally misguided.
Seriously though.  There is no tyranny in the US.  It isn't even possible.  'Ol Dementia Joe Biden and President Harris are going to be fair to everyone.  And the Democrat controlled House and Senate?  Same.  They are on your side.  They will hear all sides before proposing any legislation or signing any executive orders or creating any new laws.  Because laws apply to everyone.  And because they want unity and happiness across the land.  They'll end the Patriot Act, get rid of the TSA, eliminate BATF, and with it, the NFA.  Department of Education will close down, returning the responsibility for educating our children to the States.  The Constitutionality of every new piece of proposed legislation will be checked and verified, and then certified before it ever sees debate on the floor.  It's going to be great!  So many exciting things are coming.  All you have to do is comply.  And maybe change your way of thinking just a little.
Did you see where the House is instituting rule changes to assure that their official "documentary" language is all inclusive?  Apparently certain segments of our society want to change the meanings of words be more inclusive so they are eliminating words like mother, father, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, ombudsman, fisherman, etc from their official language.  You know, so a lady with a dick doesn't no one feels left out.   Well, no one other than the Conservative mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, etc.  It isn't enough to continually promote the false narrative that Conservatives don't like homosexuals, or transsexuals, or, transvestites, or trans anything or confused anything.  The problem is that Conservatives typically don't care if you are any of those things, and the Liberals are unwilling to accept that it isn't a big deal to most modern Conservatives.  Liberals have to constantly celebrate those "differences"and scream about how tolerant and inclusive they are, which they aren't.  Conservatives are generally pretty quiet about it, preferring actions to words.   Lets all just show up on time, get to work, and do our own thing when the work day is done.  That might include Jack and Jill straight couple going to the bar with Betty and Janie homosexual after work because, well, because Betty and Janie are nice people who share common interests with Jack and Jill.  All 4 of them are going to the rifle range on Saturday and then to an animal rights demonstration downtown on Sunday morning.  They are simply friends who don't allow their "differences" to get in the way.
So, you see, there is no possibility of tyranny in this country.
Honestly, I don't know where any of that came from.  Seriously.  I have no idea.
Peace.
It isn't really about Trump...
So, I'm sitting here listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from January 17th, 1976.  Good memories.  I was stationed with an MP Company at Fort Hood, Texas.  It's a long story but I actually did some OJT to become an MP.  I thought I'd like it.  I didn't.  I liked some of the people, but hated the job. When I told my Company Commander that this simply wasn't working for me he sent me to my First Sergeant.  I was an NCO at the time, having spent 2 1/2 years in Germany prior to going to Hood...  Anyway, once Top and I talked I found myself at the top of his shit list.  I tried to transfer to an Infantry unit across post with the Second Armored Division.  He made sure that didn't happen.  I called my wife one day from post and asked how she felt about going back to Germany.  She said go for it.  I went to the III Corps Levy section and applied for transfer to Germany.  4 weeks later I got a phone call from Top...  Sergeant Buchanan, bring your ass to the Orderly Room.  He handed me my orders and said "It looks like you got what you wanted... out of here".   I smiled and said, "wow, that was quick" and left.  Never looked back.  Another story for another time... Saturdays and Sundays with Casey Kasem are times for me to reminisce.  Another story for another time.
Anyway, that was a little off track...
It isn't about Trump.  Well, it kinda is... the Left has been trying to get rid of Trump since election night of 2016.  Never stopped.  The only way this is even about "Trump Supporters" is because the majority of Trump's supporters aren't Liberals.  It's about shutting down the Right.  It's about creating a Progressive paradise right here in Amerika.  It is because Trump happened to be the person to beat Hillary and derail the Progressive agenda that was full steam ahead under obama.  Wouldn't have mattered if Jesus Christ had won the 2016 election, the hate toward everything not Liberal would have been the same.
I think everyone who isn't a Liberal in America needs to watch their back.  Most won't, of course, because "it isn't that bad" or "they'd never do that" or "if they cross this line"...
How do we get (back) to the point that the highest priority is America and Americans?  All Americans.  Because that certainly isn't where we are today.
Anyway...  File this post under incomplete thoughts.
Stay safe.
What is true, what isn't...?
    Getty Images
 Is this even true?  It seems that there is some inflammatory text spread throughout this article.
"After ransacking the U.S. Capitol and threatening the lives of members of Congress on Jan. 6, they walked down the building’s broad steps unmolested and into the mythology of right-wing extremism."  (article linked below)
I wasn't there, so I don't know what's true.  That is where we are.  We simply don't know what's true anymore.  We pick our favorite news sources and believe what we want to believe...
Personally, I think that a lot of people and organizations, from a lot of different political positions, are seizing this opportunity to put their ideas in front of an audience.  Never letting a crisis go to waste.  Like all the "fly by night" businesses that pop up after a large natural disaster to "help",  Here today, gone tomorrow.  Almost always enriched from the money of the folks most affected by the disaster.
What really happened in D.C.?
I also think that the words coming out of the many government alphabet agencies these days should give all of us pause to think...  Are they taking the opportunity to shut down communication between like minded folks?  I think we all realize that there are no secrets here on the Internet.  The "authorities" are always listening.  ;)  Will they try to shut down social media platforms like Blogger?  I don't think Google has a great record of supporting free speech when pressured...   I'm not paranoid, just curious.  I suspect we'll find out, eh?
Is it really any different today than it's ever been?  Do people think differently than in earlier days?  Well, yeah, probably.  Or not.  Conservatives want to be left alone to live their lives, Liberals want to interfere with and control every facet of our lives.  That hasn't changed much.  The Internet makes communication easier, but anyone can publish a blog or a twit or a message on the fb, it doesn't have to be true.  And I think a lot of folks have differing definitions of what constitutes truth.  And the folks who want to know what you are doing can track all of your conversations and actions easily, whether gubbmint or just some nefarious stalker.  No different, just easier.  Yes?
Anyway... An article.  Yes, it's Yahoo.  Are they reliable?  Who knows?  Is anyone reliable?  Is anyone reporting without an agenda?
Attack on Capitol was the beginning of an American insurgency, counterterrorism experts warn
