Was Osama bin Laden buried at sea after being killed by U.S. Navy Seals in Pakistan just 1/2 mile from a Pakistani Army base where he had lived, unknown and undetected by us or our Pakistani allies, for 5 years?

Did the US Navy Seals really kill him?

Did he die of renal failure in the mountains of Afghanistan sometime in the last 9 or 10 years?

Or was he killed in Pakistan and his body moved to the US Military Mortuary in Dover, Delaware? Where is his body now?

Does it matter?

Perhaps he's alive and well in Miami?

Huffpost says that Anonymous hacked some high level security company's server and gave the purloined emails to WikiLeaks who then published them.

If true, or even partly true, this could be embarrassing to the obama administration, right? Or not. obama is a sociopath. He doesn't get embarrassed. No feelings.

I'm not sure of 5 people to pass it on to....

Iowa is trying to pass an amendment to our constitution protecting the rights of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. It passed the House on a strict party line vote, save one. Representative Brian Quirk, a Democrat, voted with the majority to pass it. Thank you Brian! Now on to the Senate. It won't be so easy there. Representative Lance Horbach from Tama gave this speech before it was voted on in the House..

Good job, Lance!

Iowa is one of only 6 states that does not have a RKBA amendment to it's state constitution. Iowa's motto is "Our Liberties We Prize, Our Rights We Maintain." How ironic.

There is also Stand your Ground/Castle Doctrine legislation that was passed out of the House and is going on to the Senate. It's gonna be interesting to see how it goes.

The entire Democratic Caucus walked out of legislative session for 6 hours one day last week in protest of this legislation. Apparently when Democrats don't want to debate legislation that they may not like, they get up and leave. Happened in Wisconsin and Indiana recently. Wow. Way to get things done, er, I mean, "Listen here kiddies, sit down and do the job that you were elected to do! You aren't going anywhere until you've finished eating your peas and carrots".

I can only assume that the Democrats don't like it because they would prefer to give criminals more rights than law abiding citizens.

In my mind, the most important thing about the Stand your Ground/Castle Doctrine legislation is the protection it gives you after the fact if you have to use your firearm to protect yourself or others. If no charges are filed against you, or if you are adjudicated not guilty in criminal court, you cannot be sued in civil court.

"There will be blood in the streets. People will go toe to toe and use their guns to settle their arguments". Whatever. That's the same thing they said when Iowa became a "Shall Issue" state. Hasn't happened. Isn't going to happen.

Our Sheriff and several Prosecutors don't like the Stand Your Ground/Castle Doctrine legislation. In the words of our Sheriff (paraphrased) "The bangers are good liars. They will be quick to tell you that they were in fear for their life, so they shot". I can see his point. The other scenario is that the banger gets shot by the citizen. No charges are filed because it was a good shoot. The banger's family sues the citizen and wins, thereby forcing the citizen to financially support the banger's family forever while destroying the citizens life. Why should I have to pay the family of some low-life who died while trying to kill me?

Its an imperfect world that we live in.

My son says "If we had a female president who went to work with this attitude everyday, no one would mess with us". I think he's right.

I received this in today's email from Bob at Ohio Ordnance Works. It bears reading. A voice of reason.

Firearms, whether directly or indirectly, impact everyone’s life in some way. In the wake of the recent events at Chardon High School, the impact of firearms was felt on an entire community when a fatal shooting occurred in the high school- which is in the middle of this idyllic town, not far from my home, other homes, offices, and other schools.
Being a resident of Chardon almost my entire life and an alumni of the high school, I was shaken that such violence could happen in our community. Chardon was a place I have always felt safe from the kinds of evils that happen elsewhere in the world. In one morning, that peace of mind was stolen. The little town on the hill known for snowfall and maple syrup, where you could leave your doors unlocked and roam the streets safely at night, became the epicenter of a national news story. Somebody, or something, had to be the cause of this unsettling- and someone or something had to bear the blame.

As always with these kinds of unthinkable violent acts, the involvement of a gun caused a strong response. There seems to be an emotional connotation attached to any conversation involving firearms, and the nature of the discussion leaves no middle ground. People either want them or hate them, and both to the extreme. After the events of the past week, the time had come to reassess the role of firearms in my life, and whether or not I would condemn them as a vessel of death and destruction or reaffirm their need as a fundamental right and last line of defense.
To research firearms statistically is not an easy task, but one that is necessary if you are going to truly form an educated opinion on the subject. I looked for evidence that was empirical and unbiased, though finding it proved difficult.
First of all, are people carrying around more guns these days?

It has been brought to my attention that yesterday's post entitled "Irony..." is incorrect.

Anonymous, from the US Forest Service, pointed out that the National Park Service is not part of the Department of Agriculture, rather it is part of the Department of Interior.

I have the feeling that the commenter may have taken exception to the inaccuracy. The commenter was, of course, correct.

Let me take this opportunity to more accurately rewrite the "Irony..." post from yesterday...

Isn't It Ironic?

The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps, ever, thus perpetuating the dependency.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, part of the more responsible Department of Interior, asks us to please "Do Not Feed The Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

I think Agriculture could learn something from Interior.

I traveled through US Forest Service management areas around Flagstaff (and other parts of the southwest) when I went to Phoenix to visit my dad a couple of years ago. You folks do a great job!

Also, the people of the National Park Service do a great job.

I'm not as impressed with the folks that use tax dollars to keep people dependent on give-away programs that require tax dollars to fund. Programs that are corrupt from top to bottom. That would include far more than just Agriculture.

As far as food stamps go, I feel that they should be a safety net, not a long term "solution". I'm sure that there are many food stamp recipients who are appreciative of the helping hand to get through a temporary difficult time. I'm just as certain that there are those who feel entitled, for whatever reason, and have been and will be food stamp recipients forever. For some, it's easier or more convenient than working.

Conservative vs. Liberal beliefs...

Recently a reader pointed out that I should stop writing about what liberals believe because I couldn’t possibly know what they think. The reader suggested that I should write about what conservatives believe.
The first part of their suggestion is without merit, but the second is something I will attempt to do.

As I have pointed out repeatedly, conservatives understand liberals more completely than liberals understand conservatives. We have gone to school, read newspapers and been immersed in other media, all of which have been controlled largely by liberals.

On the other hand, liberals remain in cultural enclaves and sneak out only occasionally to throw rocks or to study the natives.

As Charles Murray pointed out in his latest book, "Coming Apart," the philosophical foundation for modern liberalism can be summarized in three or maybe four points. In fact, it is almost always possible to predict what a liberal will say or do about any topic in advance and seldom be wrong, a phenomenon about which B.F. Skinner had some interesting things to say.

So what do conservatives believe? In this limited space, I will point out only those areas that make us most different from liberals.

1. Human beings are generally responsible for the things they do. Consequently, most people do deserve what they have gotten, good or bad. It is not a matter of "winning life’s lottery." There is no moral virtue requiring that the economically successful give over what they have earned to the government based on the premise that they were randomly successful. It is also not inappropriate to say that someone may be lazy or irresponsible.

There are obviously exceptions, but a society that operates on the basis that the exceptions are the rule will be poorer and less able to care for those in need.

2. Properly designed government interventions cannot correct problems of human behavior. A government is a creation of the people, and will be no more capable or moral than the people who create it.

Welfare states are designed in ways that violate basic human nature. You cannot take away the incentives to work and expect that people will not take advantage of this, even if the government social engineers fancy themselves to be smarter than the workers.

Fathers will not continue to parent when the government takes over the role of a father. Conservatives view those who believe that these efforts would work, if only the government did it correctly, to be extraordinarily naïve.

3. Conservatives state that it is an empirical fact that people are not equal in their latent abilities and characteristics. Suggesting, therefore, that the outcomes of life should be equal is unwise and unnecessary. Significant differences between people and groups of people do exist, and those differences can be both positively and negatively meaningful.

Suggesting, for example, that discrimination exists solely because two groups do not have the same percentage-derived equality is not only statistical nonsense, but generally a violation of reality.
As another example, the idea that all children should go to college and obtain a degree is unrealistic and if implemented into policy only destroys the value of the degree for everyone.

Cultural values are not equal. Some values such as hard work, family solidarity, honesty and maintaining religious activity result in more prosperous societies. That is not to say that one culture is globally better than another, but in any given area of human attainment, certain cultural values are better than others.

4. Governments are like a fire. You need what a fire can do for you, but you want it to be as small and as controlled as possible. Just as we may want the smallest possible fire that will do the job, we want the smallest government possible that will fulfill the required functions.

5. Free people are happier, more prosperous and more generous than government-controlled people.

6. Conservatives don’t believe that those who disagree with them are inferior, just wrong.

Mr Clayson is a (Conservative. I know... hard to believe) Marketing Professor at the University of Northern Iowa, my Alma Mater. This was his weekly editorial in yesterday's Courier. I thought it was pretty good.

Enhanced Castle Doctrine...

Great link over at Curtis' place regarding the "Enhanced Castle Doctrine" being proposed in Minnesota. Go to this link to read it.

I think it should be the law of the land everywhere. By everywhere, I mean everywhere.

We, as human beings, have the God given right to protect ourselves from whomever may be attacking us with the intent to do us harm. A law like this Enhanced Castle Doctrine would instantly get those out of control forces who are a danger to society (under the color of law) back under control. It would make them think before they recklessly act. Say what you will, but you read about some unarmed citizen who is doing nothing that justifies being killed for, being killed by law enforcement in this country every week. It seems as though a one sided war is going on against the citizens of this country and that those citizens have no choice but to submit or die. I wish it weren't that way. I wish I didn't feel this way. I wish I had no cause to feel this way.

They have no more right to a safe and peaceful life than you or I do. They have no more right to family and friends than you or I do. They have no more right to anything than you or I do.

I want to get up and go to work tomorrow just as badly as they want to go home at the end their shift "alive and in one piece".

Of course the cops don't like it. It changes the entire playing field by changing the rules of the game. It puts the citizen (You know, the person whom all government is supposed to work for? The citizen? The individual who is the core of society and without whom society does not exist?) on a more equitable footing with law enforcement. It gives the citizen a better opportunity to survive a "dubious" encounter with law enforcement. It seems to me that it would make law enforcement less likely to do a lot of the stupid things that they do today. Things like "no knock" raids for petty infractions of just and unjust laws. Things like raiding the wrong house in the middle of the night and telling the citizens occupying that house that they have no right to defend themselves against these particular intruders. Seems kinda absurd, eh?

I went in to the plant this morning to get caught up on a little work. On the way, I stopped and bought gas at the local Kwik Star, where gas is currently being sold for $3.49 per gallon of ethanol blend and $3.59 per gallon of regular unleaded. $35.50 to put gas in my Jetta. The only good news is that it's been 19 days since the last time I put gas in it.

When I got my driver license in 1970, gas was around 32 cents a gallon. A "Gas War" would bring it down to a quarter or so. When I was in High School and we wanted to go cruising on a Friday or Saturday night we'd pool our money to come up with enough to go to the station and get "a couple of bucks worth". That would keep us going all weekend.

I remember coming home in January of 1975 from a 2 1/2 year duty assignment to Germany and being assigned to Fort Hood, Texas. Gas was ridiculously high priced in Texas at 42 cents a gallon. (It had been selling for about 35 cents a gallon when I left for Germany in the fall of 1972) When we would drive home to Iowa the price would steadily increase as we got further north, reaching as high as 50 cents a gallon in some of the bigger cities. I was always worried that we wouldn't have enough money to get back to Texas. Ahhhhhhh..... The good old days :)

I don't know the reason for the current high gas prices. Speculation has it that it's the "speculators" driving the price up. Or that Iran is no longer going to trade oil for U.S. Dollars. Or that this is what the current administration and it's "green" followers want.

Of course, there are those who wonder why gas prices are so high since, after all, Bush went into Iraq to get all of their oil. With all of that oil on the market gas prices should be cheap, right? And Bush should be getting rich off of it, right?

Oh well... Whatcha gonna do?

It's snowing outside. Temp is right at 32* F. It will be in the mid 30s tomorrow and Saturday, upper 40s Sunday. It won't "stick" around too long. This has been the mildest winter that I can remember in quite awhile. While not unheard of, it does occasionally happen that we get a winter like this. I'm not complaining...

I took this picture about 5 minutes ago from our side door. It's pretty nice outside. If there were several more inches of snow it would be a great night for snowshoeing.

Anyway...

The world is a dangerous place. It has never been as dangerous as it is today. Methinks it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

Perhaps all the lovers of Liberty should move to Montana and Idaho? (or Iowa and Illinois. Maybe include Missouri and Arkansas.) Kick all the Liberals out. Confiscate their property and bank accounts and send them packing to Minnesota. Naked. In winter. (Sorry Bob). It could be called "The Free States of America". Or something.

Perhaps it would be better if all the Liberals moved to, oh I don't know, New Mexico. They could all get together and have unnatural sex with each other and build monuments to their non-God and tax the piss out of each other and build their Utopia there. They could all tell each other that "It's OK, you were born that way" and believe it. Maybe they'll live happily ever after. But I doubt it. Liberals are incapable of being happy. They are also incapable of taking care of themselves. And they would foul the area with excrement and would have no one to clean up after them. Sounds like Utopia to me :) I'd still suggest confiscating their property and bank accounts, though.

I think I'm in the process of trying to pass a kidney stone. I'm in the "uncomfortable" stage right now. Not to the "holy shit this hurts" stage yet. I'm self diagnosing of course, and no, I've never done this before. It could be an "out of uterus pregnancy", I guess. Or not. If it doesn't feel better in a week or two I'll go see my doctor. The last time I had pain even remotely similar to this I did go to my doctor. He sent me to another doctor who cut me open and removed parts. I waited too long that time, too. Whatever.

I can't go to the doctor at the first sign of a little bit of something possibly being amiss. That's what normal people do. I'm not normal. Thank God.

Neither side wants to change back to "the way it was". Neither side is in favor of individual liberty. They want to control everything. Both sides are progressives. Both sides want to destroy the America that you and I knew growing up. Of course the change was taking place even then, when you and I were children.

I just don't understand what they gain from it? Power and control? When you own the world, what's left? Sit back and watch the little people? All of the "one world order" folks forget about one important element... human nature. You could kill off all the Liberals or all the Conservatives, but the human condition is going to create another Liberal or another Conservative at some point. It's just a matter of time.

The fact remains that a third of the population want to be taken care of. Another third don't know what they want, for sure, but will jump at any opportunity that will benefit them personally in any given situation. The final third just want to be left alone to live their lives and to take care of themselves. The Marxist, one world government fuckers, always seem to forget that.

Joseph Kennedy was Ambassador to England, at the onset of WWII. He was, if not pro-Nazi, Nazi-neutral at best. The Kennedys have run Massachusetts, since the 1930's. Joseph got all of his sons elected to high-ranking public office (John Kennedy was no more qualified to be President than is Obama). Do you really think Romney could become Governor of Massachusetts, without Kennedy family blessings?

Why are there only 2 "major" parties with enough influence to make change in the United States? Why not 3? Or 4? Why can't the Libertarians gain any traction as a major power? The Tea Party? Would they be allowed to exist if thats what the people wanted? Why does no one care?

Why are we constantly fed a stream of lies and bullshit by our government? Why is the media a mouthpiece for the government? Why do a third of the population believe everything that the chocolate jesus feeds them? Why didn't we pay attention when all of this was just beginning to happen?

Why are Liberals more willing than Conservatives to get in your face and scream the talking points that their leaders have taught them? Why do Conservatives respect the rule of law when Liberals do not and are willing to exploit that fact every day? Why are Liberals willing to "do whatever it takes" to promote their agenda while conservatives insist on working within the framework of the law?

What is wrong with a person who wants the government to take care of their every need and to provide a "safety net" for those who will not work? What's wrong with a "free" society where only one half of the people pay for everything that the entire population benefits from? It's really only "free" for the half that are sucking the blood of the payers.

In my opinion, governments do not work. Never have. Never will.

obama is obviously not a natural born citizen in accordance with The Constitution and precedent based on The Constitution and is therefore not eligible to be president.

Holder and Justice are obviously involved in Fast and Furious but are getting a pass (how could obama not be involved?). Janet the First had Waco and Ruby Ridge, not to mention Oklahoma City. I took the Remington 700 that I bought in December to the range today to shoot it for the first time and to zero the scope. It was 20 degrees outside with a NW wind at 20 mph. Fuckin' cold! There was a young fellow shooting at the 25 yard range and a "brass and lead picker" at the 50 yard range, so I set up to zero a new scope cold at 100 yards. Brutal. Anyway, It took awhile but I got it done. Cold. My fingers are still cold.

I was shooting all over the place and was 12 inches low. Took me a minute to figure it out. I am satisfied, for now, with the end result.

(CN) - A college student claims he was injured when a fraternity member in a "drunken stupor" decided "that it would be a good idea to shoot bottle rockets out of his anus," and did so, "but instead of launching, the bottle rocket blew up in the defendant's rectum, and this startled the plaintiff and caused him to jump back," and fall off the fraternity's deck.
Louis Helmburg III sued The Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity Inc., of Huntington, West Virginia, and Travis Hughes, a fraternity member, in Cabell County Court.
Helmburg claims - in a statement it would be difficult to deny - that "firing bottle rockets out of one's own anus constitutes an 'ultra-hazardous' activity," which exposes both defendants to strict liability.
Helmburg says he suffered pain and medical expenses, and lost playing time on the Marshall University baseball team. He claims the Alpha Tau deck from which he fell lacked a railing, which violated Huntington building codes.
Helmburg says the fiasco came at about 1:30 a.m. on May 1, 2011, at an Alpha Tau house party he attended with his girlfriend.
"Several of the people in attendance at said house party were under the legal drinking age, including defendant Travis Hughes," the complaint states. "Most of the persons in attendance at said house party were also consuming alcohol with the full knowledge and consent of the ATO fraternity."
Several Alpha Tau members were on the deck when Hughes got his bright idea, including one or more fraternity officers, Helmburg says.
The complaint states: "Defendant Hughes was highly intoxicated on this date and time, and decided in his drunken stupor that it would be a good idea to shoot bottle rockets out of his anus on the ATO deck, located on the back of the ATO house. ...
"Defendant Hughes placed a bottle rocket in his anus, ignited the fuse, but instead of launching, the bottle rocket blew up in the defendant's rectum, and this startled the plaintiff and caused him to jump back, at which time he fell off of the ATO deck, and he became lodged between the deck and an air conditioner unit adjacent the deck.
"There was no railing on said deck at the time of the incident. Upon information and belief, the lack of a railing had existed for at least several months, if not years, before the incident. Upon further information and belief, the deck never had a railing when it was installed, or any time thereafter. The subject deck was approximately 3-4 feet high."
Helmburg says Alpha Tau negligently failed to supervise its guests and members, "such as defendant Hughes, and other under age persons, from consuming alcohol on its premises, which leads to stupid and dangerous activities, such as shooting bottle rockets out of one's own anus."
As for Hughes, Helmburg says, "Defendant Hughes also owed plaintiff and others on the ATO deck a duty of care not to drink under age, or to fire bottle rockets out of his anus."
It is unclear from the 5-page complaint whether Hughes was injured, or how badly, when the bottle rocket exploded in his rectum.
Helmburg seeks damages for negligence and strict liability.
He is represented by Timothy Rosinsky of Huntington.

So, let me get this right... Some dumbass engages in several forms of risky behavior, gets hurt, and expects someone else to pay for it. Is that about right? I'm just guessing here, but when you add it all up, I'd bet that "Rocket Man" is a bloomin' Liberal.

I still haven't been able to figure out why there is such an uproar over The Komen Foundation's decision to stop giving money to Planned Parenthood.

The money belongs to Komen and, last I knew, Komen can do with their money as they see fit.

Planned Parenthood is not in any way entitled to it.

Besides, what does cancer research to save women's lives have to do with killing babies? The two organizations appear to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, philosophically.

(Yes, I realize that all monies directed to PP by Komen are earmarked for mammograms, not killing babies. I also realize that mammograms help women.)

No one can argue the fact that the world we live in is falling apart around us. FUBAR.

No one can argue the fact that those whom we have elected to represent us in our government are ignoring us. They have been for a very long time. They no longer work for us. They work for special interests, interests backed by big money. Big money is the modern day "get out of jail free card". They work for themselves.

They spy on us. They try to intimidate us. They ask us questions that they have no right to know the answers to. They sexually assault us. They imprison us. They beat us. They kill us with apparent impunity. They do it every single day. You can deny it but that won't make it any less true.

They change the rules to fit the situation at hand. If there are no rules to bend or break they invent them at the spur of the moment. They ignore the constitution when it gets in their way.

And there are those "common people" who are ok with this. They support it. And they want everyone to be like them. They cannot understand a person who is able to think for him or herself. They are frightened by people who don't want to live in their world.

Our government is corrupt from the very top to the very bottom. Corruption permeates every pore of our government at every level. The Political Ruling Class work to better their own lives. It's the only thing they do. The people who elect them mean nothing to them. And the people who elect them know this. And the people continue to elect these bastards. And the people are ok with this because thats the way it's done.

Where's the problem?

No one cares. Life goes on. Business as usual.

There was crime so we demanded that the government protect us. Now we live in a police state and still we aren't protected.

It has always been our own responsibility to protect ourselves. Some are too timid to do so and welcome the non-protection of the police state. The Police State claims a monopoly on the "right to protect". Or not to protect.

Everything is against the law. The government has assumed the right to do whatever they want to whomever they want whenever they want. And the people are ok with that.

I know without a doubt that the people are ok with it because they are doing nothing to change it. Oh, there might be a complaint here and a protest there but, in the end, the people either comply with the rulers or they lose intrest. They grab a bag of chips and plop themselves down in front of the idiot box and watch the game. I'd suggest that they do it to escape reality, but that wouldn't be true. They do it because that is their reality.

Just keep reelecting the same old worn out establishment politicians to the positions of power. And those politicians will start to ignore you as soon as they have taken their oath on innauguration day.

Meet the new boss. He's the same as the old boss. We won't get fooled again. LOL. Right.

You don't matter. They can have an election without voters and no one will even complain about it. No one will even know. No one will care.

The Democrats and the Republicans are merely different branches of the same party. They have the same goals. To enslave you. To steal the fruits of your labors and keep them for themselves. They might possibly redistribute what they "don't need" as they see fit.

COMMENTARY Investigators are closing in on what happened to $1.2 billion in customer funds missing at collapsed brokerage firm MF Global -- it's gone. The Wall Street Journal reports:

As the sprawling probe that includes regulators, criminal and congressional investigators, and court-appointed trustees grinds on, the findings so far suggest that a "significant amount" of the money could have "vaporized" as a result of chaotic trading at MF Global during the week before the company's Oct. 31 bankruptcy filing, said a person close to the investigation.

MF Global customers, which included farmers, ranchers, and other businesses, have to date recovered 72 percent of the money they had in their U.S. accounts, according to The Wall Street Journal. Funds outside the country remain frozen. Of the roughly $6 billion the firm managed on behalf of these clients, $5.3 billion has been found. But "hundreds of millions" in customer funds is subject to lawsuits involving other parts of MF Global's business, such as its foreign branches. That means the shortfall may amount to at least $1.2 billion, with the paper noting that "U.S. officials might never be able to recover those funds."

Dear Abby,

My husband has a long record of money problems. He runs up huge credit-card
bills and at the end of the month, if I try to pay them off, he shouts at
me, saying I am stealing his money. He says pay the minimum and let our
kids worry about the rest, but already we can hardly keep up with the
interest. Also he has been so arrogant and abusive toward our neighbors that
most of them no longer speak to us. The few that do are an odd bunch, to
whom he has been giving a lot of expensive gifts, running up our bills even
more. Also, he has gotten religious. One week he hangs out with Catholics
and the next with people who say the Pope is the 'Anti-Christ', and the next
he's with Muslims.. Finally, the last straw. He's demanding that before
anyone can be in the same room with him, they must sign a loyalty oath. It's
just so horribly creepy! Can you help?

Sometimes bad things happen to innocent people at the hands of the law.

Sometimes those innocents receive justice. It seems to be a rare occurance but, it does happen.

Here is the story.

I wish I could just say that I'm happy this turned out the way it did and be done with it. I can't do that. I have to give my opinion, right or wrong :)

The cops were wrong from the very start in this situation. Trying to cover their asses has cost the city of Des Moines at least $140,000 in legal fees up to this point. There will be a settlement to the victims of $500,000 on top of that. That's taxpayer money to pay for willful police misconduct. And they knew they were wrong from the beginning. An honest and objective internal investigation would have (did?) proven this. This crap happens someplace in Amerika every single day.

The taxpayers of Des Moines should be pissed off about this.

The victims of this crime at the hands of law enforcement didn't just "roll over" and let the law bully them into submission. I hope it sends a message to other police forces. I hope the families or victims of every instance of excessive force at the hands of law enforcement pursue justice and I hope they win.

I realize that the odds are stacked against anyone bringing a case against "the law". When you do that you are going up against the entire legal system. That has to be terrifying and must seem futile. I realize that it's probaly easier to just walk away with your life and feel lucky that you are still breathing. Walk away and try to forget about it. Hope that it never happens to anyone else.

But you know in the back of your mind that it will. It will happen to somebody else.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think that most cops are good people who want to do the right thing. Some cops are bad. Some are very bad. There are bad people in every profession but there are some professions that should not ever tolerate bad people in their midst. The worst part is when the good cops knowingly and willingly protect the bad ones. And the system that protects bad cops simply because they are cops. That is evil.

It seems to me, as an outsider, that something has changed in law enforcement in the last 20 or 30 years. There was a time when the police were respected by most everyone but the criminals. I don't think thats the case anymore. I would love to hear about it from people currently involved in law enforcement or retired from law enforcement.

I realize that any group is made up of individuals and that every individual is different. I also spent quite a few years in the Army and I do understand how individuals come to think as a group. Sometimes its necesssary for survival. I spent some time in an MP company at Fort Hood in the mid seventies. I had friends there whom I respected and I knew others whom I wouldn't give the sweat off my balls if they were dying of thirst in the desert. I had close friends in Germany who were MPs and CID. We're all different. I have friends in law enforcement today with whom I ride bicycles and others with whom I played hockey for several years.

Anyway.... This post is deteriorating. Is it the war on drugs? The looseness of society? The entitlement mentality? What has changed?

I've probably heard her ask "Can you be more pacific?" a half million times over the past 30 years. You do get used to it after awhile.

This is probably funnier to me than it is to you, but I just had to share it.

Keep in mind that I'm not making fun of her. (Because I'm 100% Politically Correct.  All the time.)

It's just one of those cute little quirks that makes a person who she or he is.

"We have a general morality gap, we are over-leveraged, we have neglected to invest in the future, we have undermined social coherence, and we are in danger of completely losing the confidence of future generations," said Klaus Schwab, host and founder of the annual World Economic Forum.
"Solving problems in the context of outdated and crumbling models will only dig us deeper into the hole.
"We are in an era of profound change that urgently requires new ways of thinking instead of more business-as-usual," the 73-year-old said, adding that "capitalism in its current form, has no place in the world around us."
Some 1,600 economic and political leaders, including 40 heads of states and governments, will be asked to come up with new ideas as they converge at eastern Switzerland's chic ski station for the 42nd edition of the five-day World Economic Forum which opens Wednesday.
The eurozone's failure to get a grip on its debt crisis and the spectre this is casting over the global economy will dominate discussions.
"The main issue would be the preoccupation with the global economy. There will be relatively less conversation about social responsibility and environment issues -- those tend to come to the fore when the economy is doing well," John Quelch, dean of the China European International Business School, told AFP.
"The main conversation will be about a deficit of leadership in Europe as a prime problem," he added.
The annual talk-shop comes barely a week after the eurozone's reputation took a further battering, as ratings agency Standard and Poor's downgraded the credit-worthiness of nine eurozone countries, including stripping France of its triple-A grade.
While saved from the downgrade embarrassment, the region's economic powerhouse Germany has nevertheless been forced to lower its growth forecast, dragged down by its neighbours' debt woes and weaker demand from emerging markets.

A time before government interference sissified Amerika.

My kids were born and raised in the '70s.

It was a time before the government took all the fun out of life. Somehow, some of the kids of that era survived, thrived, and were better for the experience. They had a sense of adventure that gained them experience in the real world rather than a sense of entitlement and faux self worth gained in front of a video game screen on a television set in their room.

Sadly, theirs was also the first generation to begin to be taught in earnest under the current (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) education system. All Amerikan children attending public school beginning in about 1972 were taught based on this (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) philosophy. I think that some areas of the country taught it more enthusiastically than others.

Todays young public school teachers, especially those who were public school students themselves, were taught under this (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) system from kindergarten through college. They have never known anything different. They are teaching what they were taught. They believe it. They believe in it. They believe and they teach that someone owes them something. It is their life's agenda to perpetuate the lie, whether they realize it or not.

These kids who were raised and educated beginning in the '70s are also the first generation raising their kids (our grandkids) with the (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) ideology that was imbued into their brains from such a young age. It's at a point now where the indoctrination begins at birth. The parents believe it and teach it to their children before the (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) public school teachers take it up with those same pliable minds.

There are a lot of those little monsters out there.

The (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) teachers and administrators were subtle. They were sneaky. They were persistent.

They were also successful.

They followed the plan that the (Communist, Socialist, Marxist) puppet masters in Washington set forth.

The mess we are in as a nation today has been a long time coming.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is providing senior state and local police officials with its analysis of homegrown terrorism incidents, including common signs law enforcement can use to identify violent extremists.
The warning signs identified for police include someone joining a group advocating violence, receiving support from a network that plans attacks or seeking out charismatic leaders who encourage violence. The analysis was conducted by the Homeland Security Department, the FBI and the National Counterterrorism Center. An overview of the findings was shared with The Associated Press and was being presented Wednesday at a conference at the White House.
The conference marks the first time this unclassified analysis is presented to 46 senior federal, state and local law enforcement officials, many of whom are police chiefs and sheriffs. The conference also includes sessions on other programs the federal government has for countering violent extremism and a briefing from a deputy chief of the Los Angeles Police Department about what the city has done on this front.
"Engaging local communities is critical to our nation's effort to counter violent extremism and violent crime, and this meeting brings together many of our partners," Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said. Napolitano, Attorney General Eric Holder and the president's counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, planned to attend the White House conference.
There has been an uptick in attempted attacks by Americans and other legal U.S. residents in the past few years, prompting the Obama administration to place a priority on finding ways to stop this type of violence. The administration rolled out a thin strategy last year that put local communities – not Washington – in charge of countering violent extremism in the U.S. That strategy was short on details and did not focus on threats from Islamic extremists.
The White House has encouraged law enforcement to reach out to Muslim communities to build relationships, insisting that these communities are partners in the fight against terrorism. At the same time, the government is trying to develop ways to help local law enforcement detect behavior that could indicate someone is plotting a violent attack. The challenge has been to provide behavioral indicators that indicate the potential for violence rather than religious beliefs or other constitutionally protected rights.
"The important role of local law enforcement is a key part of the administration's approach to countering violent extremism in the homeland," Brennan said. "Law enforcement officials work with communities every day and understand how to build partnerships to address this tough challenge."
Analysts from the FBI, Homeland Security Department and National Counterterrorism Center reviewed 62 cases of homegrown violent extremists and found basic similarities. The cases included violent extremists who adhered to a mix of ideologies, including people who ascribed to white supremacist beliefs and people inspired by a violent interpretation of Islam. The analysis is not a psychological profile of a homegrown terrorist, but instead offers similarities among cases that could help local law enforcement better understand and detect threats.
In the 62 cases reviewed, the subjects increasingly spoke out against the government, blamed the government for perceived problems and did so in a way that caught the attention of other people in their communities, according to the senior counterterrorism official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private White House event. Subjects became active on the Internet to espouse extremist views. In some cases, the subjects purchased weapons, ammunition or explosive materials.

Analysts found that a person's origin, ethnic background and socioeconomic status are not good indicators for potential violent extremist activity, the senior counterterrorism official said.

Later this month, a training program for local law enforcement on countering violent extremism will be tested in Southern California, and the government intends to roll out the training to the rest of the country through 2012. Part of the training will focus on understanding constitutionally protected activities so law enforcement can distinguish between illegal acts and free speech. The official said the FBI academy plans to incorporate this training into its programs as well.
The FBI came under fire last year for some controversial training sessions that portrayed Islam as a violent religion.

NYPD developing infrared body scanner to detect guns on people in the street

A device that can detect whether a suspect is carrying a weapon without needing to frisk him is being developed by police.
Infrared rays will be used to scan a form of natural energy - like radiation - emitted from the body of someone concealing a gun on the street.
If something is obstructing the flow of that energy, such as a weapon, the gadget will show exactly where the object is on a suspect's body.

As a result, officers will get a digital outline of where the firearm is. The device could also be used to find suicide bomber vests, Newsday reported.
The New York Post reported that the device has been undergoing development for the past three years for the streets of New York City....

This has to do with the video that popped up yesterday. It’s 40 seconds, and it shows four Marines standing above the bodies of some dead Taliban.

Peeing on them.

“Have a great day, buddy,” one of the Marines says to the corpse at his feet.

Let’s review.

America is at war with militant Islam. In Afghanistan, the Taliban is militant Islam. In Afghanistan, the Taliban gave refuge and support to Al Qaeda as it prepared the attacks of September 11. In Afghanistan, the Taliban works around the clock to put American servicemen in their graves.

The Taliban is the bad guys.

And the United States Marines are the good guys.

And this is much ado about nothing.

Because the brass are crapping their pants.

“This is egregious, disgusting behavior,” said Pentagon spokesman Capt. John Kirby. “It turned my stomach.”

Kirby’s branch of the service is not listed, but I’m guessing it’s Girl Scouts.

It turned his stomach?

We are a nation at war. We’ve had thousands of Americans die. We’ve brought hundreds of thousands home with losses of limb and mind, and THIS turns his stomach?

That’s not exactly a warrior spirit.

And it makes you wish that men like those urinating Marines were running this operation.

But they are not.

And they will be crucified.

Because our military establishment specializes in throwing young GIs under the bus. Any number of desk jockeys and political generals are glad to backstab as many warriors as they can. In the White House and at the Pentagon, the god of political correctness is fed with the frequent sacrifice of young soldiers’ careers.

You send people to war, but heaven help them if they act like it. Hamstrung by Marquis of Queensbury rules in a bar fight with savages, our GIs are attacked by enemy fighters on one side and government lawyers on the other.

It’s a funny game where no one has their back.

Except the American people.

Which gets me back to my point.

You pee for us all, Marine.

That group of Camp Lejeune snipers is condemned by the political generals, but embraced by the American people.

Because that’s what you get when you screw with the United States of America. You get a bullet through the brainpan, and we’re going to line up to spit on the pieces.

Unless we have a full bladder.

And show the YouTube far and wide, as a warning to your pals. This is what it means to mess with America. The pantywaists in the Pentagon might want to win your hearts and minds, but the men pulling the triggers want to snap your freaking necks.

And some 310 million real Americans feel the same way. Mess with the best, die like the rest. The sooner the better, the more the merrier, and don’t be surprised if it’s not holy water you get sprinkled with.

Real people aren’t bothered by this.

Real people believe this is how war should be fought.

Real people think that we’ve pussyfooted around long enough, it’s time to make the rubble bounce. Pull the B52s out of the barn and let’s light those mo-fos up.

And real people are sick and tired of the feigned indignation coming out of the Pentagon and White House. Life is not group therapy and war is not run by “Robert Rules of Order.” War is where you kill people and break the will of a society.

War is where you make the other guy cry “Uncle.”

Ask the people of Hiroshima and Dresden.

Or Atlanta, for that matter.

You attack the United States and you die. You die ugly. There are only two sure winners – us and the maggots. And any people, nation or religion that can’t stand that heat should stay the hell out of the kitchen.

So if you don’t want to be blown to bits and pieces, and pissed on by fine examples of American manhood, then you better stay home with mama. You better lay off the jihad. You better learn some manners and mind your Ps and Qs.

Because Lady Liberty is shaking her fist.

And that’s not just some words in a song.

That’s our pledge.

We’re going to kill you, and we’re going to cheer the men who do it.

And the rest of you goat-bearded savages better shake in your sandals, because those Marines pee for us.

And they’re coming for you next.

"Well, Nels," the President replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Nels, after a moment's calculation, "there is myself, my cousin Knute, my next-door-neighbor Lars, and the whole pool team from the Rod & Gun. That makes eight!"

The President paused, "I must tell you Nels that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Nels, "I'll haf ta call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Nels called again. "Mr. President, da war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be, Nels?" the President asked.

"Vell sir, ve got two combines, a bulldozer, and Sigurd's farm tractor."

The President sighed.

"I must tell you Nels, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke."

"All right den, said Nels. "I'll be getting back to ya."

Sure enough, Nels rang again the next day.

"Mr. President, da war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne! We up an' modified Lars' ultra-light vit a couple'a shotguns in da cockpit, and four boys from the coffee shop haf joined us as vell!"

The President was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you, Nels, that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Two million you say?," said Nels, "l'll haf' to call ya back."

Sure enough, Nels called again the next day.

"Mr. President! I am sorry to have to tell you that we have had to call off this here war."

"I'm sorry to hear that," said the President. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

Vell, sir," said Nels, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long
chat over a few beers, and come to realize that dar's yust no vay ve

Obama wants to bug out before the election

The war in Afghanistan may end this year in thinly disguised surrender.

"The Taliban per se is not our enemy," Vice President Joe Biden said in an interview with Newsweek magazine Dec. 15.

We went to war in Afghanistan to oust the Taliban regime because it had sheltered al-Qaida. Perhaps Mr. Biden forgot.

A story in an Indian newspaper Dec. 29 suggests the reason for the vice president's memory lapse. The Obama administration apparently is conducting secret negotiations with the Taliban and has recruited Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood's leading jurist, to mediate them.

"Earlier this month, Mr. al-Qaradawi helped draw a road map for a deal between the Taliban and the United States aimed at giving the superpower a face-saving political settlement ahead of its planned withdrawal from Afghanistan, which is due to begin in 2014," wrote reporter Praveen Swami, citing "Indian diplomatic sources."

Picking Mr. al-Qaradawi, 84, to broker a peace deal is like choosing Benito Mussolini to mediate secret peace talks with the Nazis.

Mr. al-Qaradawi seeks the establishment of a worldwide caliphate ruled by Islamic law. And like other radical Islamists, Mr. al-Qaradawi advocates the destruction of Israel. But not even that is enough to satisfy his blood lust.

"Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption," Mr. al-Qaradawi said in a speech broadcast on al-Jazeera in 2009. "The last punishment was carried out by Hitler. By means of all the things he did to them ... he managed to put them in their place. This was divine punishment for them. Allah willing, the next time will be at the hands of the believers. ... Oh Allah, count their numbers and kill them, down to the very last one."

In 2003, Mr. al-Qaradawi issued a fatwa justifying the killing of U.S. troops in Iraq. When the imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca opposed the killing of civilians, Mr. al-Qaradawi criticized him. Yet the Obama administration apparently considers Mr. al-Qaradawi to be a "moderate."

Perhaps he is, compared to Mohammed Fazl, a senior Taliban official who's been held at Guantanamo Bay since early 2002. Mr. Fazl is alleged to have overseen the murder of thousands of Afghanistan's minority Shiite Muslims.

The Obama administration is contemplating turning Mr. Fazl and four other Taliban terrorists over to the Afghan government as part of an exchange of "confidence-building measures," Reuters reported Dec. 29.

The proposed handover of Mr. Fazl and the others is not popular with those who are more concerned with U.S. security than with President Obama's re-election.

"I can tell you that the hair on the back of my neck went up when they walked in with this a month ago," Reuters quoted a "U.S. intelligence official" as saying.

The Taliban announced Tuesday that it will open a liaison office in Doha, Qatar, where Mr. al-Qaradawi is based. Afghan President Hamid Karzai gave the office his blessing and earlier praised Vice President Biden's statement that "the Taliban per se is not our enemy." So presumably he'd be open to a power-sharing arrangement -- provided there are sufficient guarantees for his personal safety and for augmentation of the considerable fortune he's accumulated since we installed him in office.

If Mr. al-Qaradawi is chosen as mediator it would suggest the Obama administration is far more interested in making a deal before the U.S. election this year than in what's in the deal. The administration might be satisfied, it appears, with a public renunciation of al-Qaida by the Taliban (they don't have to mean it), and private assurances that the Taliban won't take over until after the election.

The losers would be those Afghans who don't want to live under the thumb of a brutal reactionary theocracy, especially those who trusted us and sent their daughters to school. But they don't vote in our elections.

Mr. Obama supported the war in Afghanistan during the 2008 campaign, but I suspect he did so only because he so vociferously opposed the war in Iraq and didn't want people to think he was soft on national defense. His heart was never in it.

So I wish he'd decided to bug out sooner. About two-thirds of the 1,864 American servicemen and women who have been killed in Afghanistan have been killed since Barack Obama became president. They appear to have died in vain.

Here is a little quiz to determine which Presidential candidate is "most like you". It's kind of interesting. The big surprise was finding out that obama is least "like me". (I didn't and wouldn't vote for him anyway.)

My advice to her would be to quit acting like one if she doesn't want to be seen as one. Seems pretty simple to me. I don't think I've ever seen a "pleasant" picture of her. The list is really much longer.

If they break down your door in the middle of the night and you wake up and defend yourself and your family, you're screwed.

If you happen to get one of them, you are double screwed.

And they are a hero. You were scum. No matter if it was a "good" action or not.

If they decide to screw with you out on the street, you're gonna lose.

If you do what is normal and natural and try to defend yourself, you are probably going to die.

And the investigation is most likely going to find that they were "justified" in killing you. They are the ones investigating themselves. You would do well to remember that.

If you aren't one of them you don't stand much of a chance.

Not all of them are bad, but enough of them are bad that you should probably be concerned. The bad ones damage the reputation of the good ones. There are surely more good than bad.

And they cover for each other. Even when they know they are wrong. Even when they know that what they did was not justified. Because they are right and you are wrong. Always.

When they confront you and you fail to act like an obedient sheep you will lose. They will always win. They are the law.

You are merely the target of the moment.

Yes, it seems to have gotten that bad.

And it is us, the taxpaying citizens, who provide the money for these people to do this. How ironic is that?

“Birther” attorney Orly Taitz, a national leader among those who claim President Barack Obama isn’t an American citizen, is hailing a Tuesday decision by a Georgia judge as a victory in her movement.

Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi in the Office of State Administrative Hearings denied a motion by Obama asking to dismiss the complaint that seeks to keep his name off the state ballot during the March presidential primary. The judge’s decision now sets the stage for a Jan. 26 hearing on the issue in Fulton County.

Obama is not required to attend the hearing, a court official said.

Initially filed in November by Taitz on behalf of a Georgia resident, the complaint argues that Obama isn’t a natural born citizen and is ineligible from being president.

“He does not satisfy the ‘natural born citizen’ constitutional requirement for President to be on the ballot due to his foreign citizenship and allegiance to three other nations,” the documents state.

On her blog, Taitz lauded the judge’s ruling, claiming she could now depose Obama.

“I can now depose Obama and everybody else (i)nvolved without any impediment,” the California attorney posted on her website.

She also noted that the victory came in Georgia, where she has suffered numerous setbacks in her attempts to prove the president was not born in the United States.

Taitz represented two soldiers in U.S. District Court in Columbus who sought to avoid deployment by arguing Obama wasn’t the commander-in-chief because he wasn’t eligible to be president. Federal Judge Clay Land warned Taitz against filing a frivolous suit, then fined her $20,000 after he denied the second claim.

“This is particularly sweet, as it is happening in GA, where judge Clay D. Land maligned me so badly and attacked me with $20,000 of sanctions in order to silence me, to stop me from challenging Obama,” Taitz wrote.

An attempt to reach Obama’s Atlanta attorney Michael Jablonski Wednesday morning was unsuccessful.

The Office of State Administrative Hearings handles disputes between the public and state agencies. For example, if the state Department of Revenue wants to revoke a business owner’s alcohol license, the owner could appeal to the Office of State Administrative Hearings. It also handles ballot disputes.

An Open Letter To The Anti-Gun Folks

In 2005, my husband and I started the process to adopt a little girl from China. It was a brand new scary process that we knew nothing about. All we knew was that we wanted a child.

When I am passionate about something, I want to know everything I can about it. So, I did a lot of reading about China and adoption.

One of the people I read about was a woman named Gladys Aylward. She was a poor woman from London who wanted to go to China in the 1930's to be a missionary. but she had no skills, no education and she didn't speak the language, so no formal organization would allow her to go.

She was angry and frustrated, but she didn't give up. She spent a year working and saving, so she could make the trek on her own.

As she spent time in China, it become more and more her home. More and more a place she belonged and eventually, a place, she never wanted to leave.

Things got very ugly in China when the Japanese invaded and her family wanted her to leave, but she refused.

No matter how dangerous it got, she would not walk away from the people she had grown to love.

She said, "Greater Love Has No One Than This, That He Lay Down His Life For A Friend"- John15:13.

The vote count had Romney beating Santorum by 8 votes. Now that's being questioned. Yes, we really do use paper ballots and count them by hand for caucuses. LOL. This is too fuckin' funny.

And the Iowa Republican Committee says "True is not a Precinct Captain and has no business talking about this". LOL.

The Fix is in, Folks. Nahhhh, this is Iowa, it had to be an honest mistake. I'm so confused!

A voice was apparently heard pleading for mercy before a young mother was kidnapped from her home and killed.
Kirsty Treloar, 20, was abducted shortly after 7am yesterday and was found dead in an abandoned car some 90 minutes later.
Neighbours said they heard a "hysterical" scream come from the property and a cry of "Please, please, please" before Ms Treloar was taken away.
Her body was discovered with stab wounds at around 8.30am in a grey Fiat Stilo which was abandoned about a mile from her home in Hackney, east London.
She was pronounced dead at the scene in Ryder Mews.
It is understood police believe it to be a domestic incident.
A 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman - believed to be Ms Treloar's siblings and named in reports as Dean and Gemma - were also injured in the attack and were treated for stab wounds.
Today the man remained in an east London hospital in a "stable" condition.
A month-old baby girl was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
Yesterday neighbours expressed disbelief as forensics officers examined both scenes which were cordoned off with police tape.
A tarpaulin covered one of the ground-floor windows of Ms Treloar's home in Brownlow Road.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said he heard what sounded like a window breaking early this morning and a person shouting "Please, please, please".
Another woman living close to the three-storey property described how she was woken at around 5.30am before hearing "a female sounding extremely distressed".
The woman, 45, who did not want to be identified, added: "I thought it might be foxes fighting, which can sound quite human.
"Then I thought, 'No, it's definitely not', it sounded like a young woman in distress. It was very short-lived and stopped quite abruptly.
"It sounded like she was a bit hysterical."
Terry Tundervary, 58, a builder living on the same leafy residential road, said the family - named locally as mother Pamela, and siblings Gemma, Dean and Jade - was "very friendly" and would often stop to "say hello" when they met on the street.
A man believed to be Ms Treloar's stepfather is understood to live at the same address. Neighbours said he was employed by Hackney Council.
Speaking of Kirsty, Mr Tundervary said: "She was a pretty girl, a very normal girl".
Retired couple Mary and David Ward, both in their 70s, also spoke of their shock.
Mr Ward, 70, said: "We couldn't believe all this happened, it's a real tragedy.
"The area is pretty good really, we've lived here nearly 30 years and it's the first time anything like this has occurred.
"We have never had any trouble - we didn't know the family but the young girl seemed to be very nice when we saw her to say hello to."
Scotland Yard have not made any arrests.
Police said "extensive" inquiries were being carried out to trace the suspect.
A post-mortem examination for Ms Treloar will take place in due course.
A spokesman for the force said: "Whilst we await formal identification we believe the victim to be Kirsty Treloar."
Tributes were left on a Facebook page set up in Ms Treloar's name.
One posting, from Kerry Louise Clayden, read: "RIP kirsty my thoughts are with ya family and your baby girl xx".

Romney is establishment. I can't believe he did so well here in Iowa yesterday. Perhaps Iowans think that Romney will take us back to the "Establishment before obama". Seriously, folks, the "Establishment before obama" wasn't that great.

It's the last day of 2011. Wow. Where did it go?

How about if the federal Department of Education and Department of Labor scrutinized your son’s academic performance to see if he should be “encouraged” to leave high school early to learn a trade? Would you think the government was intruding on your territory as a parent?
Under regulations the Obama Department of Education released this month, these scenarios could become reality. The department has taken a giant step toward creating a de facto national student database that will track students by their personal information from preschool through career. Although current federal law prohibits this, the department decided to ignore Congress and, in effect, rewrite the law. Student privacy and parental authority will suffer.

A new mate for "Big Thunder".

This one is a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .223.

She will complement nicely the Remington 700 SPS Varmint that I own in .308.

Scope, rings, and base should be here later this week.

Redneck Machine Shop modification to the bolt handle could happen yet this week. Depends on my motivation. Worked very well on the .308 and took less than an hour.

I'm sorta excited to get her out to the range and see how she shoots.

It's really hard for us that a beautiful occasion like Christmas comes in sad days like the ones we've been through in Iraq last week.
We lost tens of our Iraqi brothers in Najaf, Kerbala and other Iraqi cities. Those people did nothing wrong except dreaming of a normal life; a dream that is seen as a crime in the eyes of the terrorists.
And we lost tens of our friends in the coalition who did nothing wrong but helping Iraqis in making their dreams come true; and that's another crime in the eyes of the terrorists.
It's never easy for us to see the blood of our brothers and friends being shed everyday but we should also remember that great goals to be achieved need great sacrifices and now it's our duty; we, who are still breathing must make sure that the priceless blood of our brothers and friends was not shed in vain and we should remember that the sacrifices they made were made for a noble reason.
Huge responsibilities are waiting for us; responsibilities towards the coming generations and responsibilities towards the brave ones who sacrificed their lives on the frontline.
We cannot let despair walk into our hearts now and we must keep the faith in our cause and keep the hard work until the dreams of our loved ones come true and I believe we should learn the lesson from the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ who offered his life for the cause he believed in and struggled for; freedom and justice.
Lets all pray for the souls of those who lost their lives defending freedom and justice.

I've experienced a lot of Christmas' in my lifetime. Some here, some there. Some have been better than others, but all were good. All were good.

My parents and grandparents are gone. I will think of them this Christmas. Good memories.

2 of my sons are here, near-by. We will get together for a Christmas Eve dinner and some family time tonight. We will share gifts and family time tomorrow, for awhile.

My youngest son is in Arizona. I'll miss him and wish that he were here. I hope he enjoys the day.

My 2 grandsons are with their mother in Indiana. I wish that they were here. You do what you do, I guess. Life is good.

I sincerely hope that each and every one of you has a very Merry Christmas. Remember the reason for the season. :)
