More Wisconsin info....

This is what well-paid, unionized teachers have brought to our schools. Via CNS:
"Two-thirds of the eighth graders in Wisconsin public schools cannot read proficiently according to the U.S. Department of Education, despite the fact that Wisconsin spends more per pupil in its public schools than any other state in the Midwest.
In the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests administered by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009—the latest year available—only 32 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a “proficient” rating while another 2 percent earned an “advanced” rating. The other 66 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below “proficient,” including 44 percent who earned a rating of “basic” and 22 percent who earned a rating of “below basic.”
Why are teachers so tied to the unions? Because they would be fired for poor performance otherwise.

Food for thought, eh?

Impeach....?

Andrew Johnson
Richard Nixon
William Clinton
barack obama

Not likely.

Is there legitimate reason to impeach?  Probably.  I guess it would depend on how  "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."  is interpreted.  It would also depend upon some Representative in the Congress having the intestinal fortitude to bring Articles of Impeachment to the floor.  Like I said, not likely.

He doesn't act very presidential, if you ask me.  He spent Thursday evening enjoying his "Mowtown Moment" while the world burned around him.  I would have expected him to be doing something a bit more "presidential", like making sure that Americans were getting out of Libya safely.  Impeachable?  No.  Crass?  Definitely.

This Libya thing is a big deal, barack!  The Middle East is in flames and you're chumming it up with Stevie Wonder.  You're giving the impression that you either don't care or that you're too dumb to realize the implications of your inaction.  Personally, I think it's part of your plan to reduce America to nothing.

Anyway, the impeachment thingy....

Not happenin'....

In case you haven't noticed, obama is part black.  That is the main (only) reason he won't be impeached.  (He's part Arab, too, but that's of minor, if any, significance.... Being fully half white is of no significance at all.  They have forgotten that part of his lineage, or they choose to ignore it.)  He has a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.  He can do anything that his heart desires and no one will stop him.

No matter what obama does, half the population will quietly grumble and go about their business while the other half will further idolize him and cheer him on.

The minorities and their non-minority enablers in this country wouldn't stand for impeachment.  obama is their best chance at a "Socialist States of Amerika" and they aren't about to let that slip from their grasp.  Not when they are soooo close.  They have worked too long and too hard to get to this point.  Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be whipping the populace into a frenzy, screaming that the only reason he's being persecuted impeached is the color of his skin.  They would proclaim that "America is racist" and people would listen.  Facts would not be relevant.  No one would look at his job performance, or lack thereof.  Race wars on an unimaginable scale would ensue.

People!  It isn't about his race.  I know that's what his supporters would say.  They would say that it's racial.  It isn't, and we all know it.  If the people who benefit from maintaining "racism" in this country would just shut up, America would become "post racial" in a heartbeat.  It's simply about the fact that he isn't good for America.  Hell, we don't even know who he is.  A lot of us felt the same way about Jimmy Carter as we do about barack obama.  (Jimmy was a white president, ya know....)

Nope, he won't be impeached.  He's our president until the end of his term.  That's fine.  That's the way our system works.  Hopefully we'll wise up by 2012 and replace him and a bunch of the other Socialists in the Congress and Senate.  Problem is that there are far too many people who depend on what our government has become in order to survive.  I certainly don't claim to understand the "entitlement mentality" but I do know that I don't like it.

There are actually people in America who think it's good and right for the government to take money from me and give it to someone who is less industrious fortunate than I am.  I don't buy into that philosophy.

Remember, there are enough stupid people out there to reelect him.

Anyway....  Rant off.  :)

Stay safe.

Ouch....

"It is hugely embarrassing when even the French are doing more to confront a murderous dictator than the traditional leader of the free world. Frankly, President Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like General MacArthur by comparison. The US administration needs to wake up from its slumber and start showing some real leadership on the world stage in place of its existing milquetoast foreign policy."

Stoopid....

Whoa!  Crazy!

Why would a person in his position "tweet" an open advocation of violence?

Seems he no longer has a job.  :)

And on another topic of craziness....

Let me think...  No!  Wait!

Federal judge rules that your thoughts constitute actions.  "Thoughts and actions are two sides of the same coin".

Are you f'in serious?  I mean, seriously?  Think of the implications.  Whoa!  Don't you dare fantasize about that.  You'll be charged with rape.  Or murder.  Or theft.

Yeah, I went a little overboard there with the rape, murder, theft thingy.  Or did I?

So....

Thanks to H.Payne

So Rahm Emanuel won the mayoral race in Chicago....  Is anyone surprised?  They have to maintain a certain level of corruption, I guess.

Protests against public employees unions spreading out across the country from Wisconsin?  The unions may make a lot of noise but they are on the decline in America.  The People are starting to figure out that it's expensive and selfish and that "it just ain't right"!  Kudos to TL Davis for his participation in the protests out west yesterday.  He's on the "right" side.   Similar rumbles and grumbles in Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee....  The SEIU and 1000 union supporters faced 100 Tea Party supporters in Des Moines yesterday.  The proposed legislation went forward for debate, anyway....  :)  Public Employee Unions have cost taxpayers a lot of money and the taxpayers are starting to figure it out!

Keep your emails and letters of support going to the governors and legislators who are forcing change.  It appears that "the silent majority" are starting to find their voice!

Americans are being evacuated from Libya.  Haven't heard much out of Hillary or obama about the "goings on" over there.  Not really surprised, I guess.  They're too busy supporting their money train union buddies here at home.  It's all a part of the plan, ya know.  The plan that appears as though it may be falling apart.

Can't think of anything else to mention this morning.

You owe it to yourself....

"… a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever. When the People once surrender their share in the Legislature, and their Right of defending the Limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every Encroachment upon them, they can never regain it.” – John Adams, letter to wife Abigail 1775

You owe it to yourself to read the rest...  Read the whole post over at Mind Numbed Robot....  Link it prominently on your blog.  Share it with the whole wide world :)

On another topic; How do you suppose the protesting teachers in Wisconsin would feel if their students missed class to go play in the woods or something, and, further suppose that these teachers knew that the students were playing hookey?  Now suppose that these students brought fraudulent doctors excuses certifying that they had been sick and had gone to seek medical attention to the teacher in order to get back into class without being disciplined....  How do you suppose these teachers would respond?  Just curious.

Anyway, it seems to me that it's the students who are getting screwed here while their teachers are acting like spoiled brats children.  Just sayin'

Stay safe.

What to do, what to do....?

They're tired of the tyrant....

Moammar Gadhafi, the baddest of the Middle East's badasses for the last 40 years, has left the building....

Military members are leaving their posts.  Civilian "volunteers in white vests" are guarding the border checkpoints.

Libya's deputy ambassador to the U.N. has resigned his post, saying he sides with the people.

Just last Friday Gadhafi said that "They won't take over here like they have in Algeria".  By Saturday the Libyan Army had killed at least 200 protestors.  By today Gadhafi had gone into hiding.

Remember when, after the Lockerbie bombing, Ronnie Reagan sent F-111s to bomb Libya?  Scared the crap out of Gadhafi.  Killed one of his kids.  Certainly got his attention.  He was pretty quiet for the longest time.....  I miss President Reagan.

It seems like the entire Middle East is in turmoil these days.  The Muslim Brotherhood has changed it's mind and is now apparently going to get involved in politics in Egypt (I know, big surprise, huh?).  Iranian warships are passing through the Suez Canal today for the first time in 32 years.  Israel is watching them closely.  ;)

I'm not sure what the involvement of the U.S. is right now, if we're involved at all.

I wonder why we haven't heard much about Anderson Cooper's ass whoopin' in Egypt at the hands of the Muslims?  Or Lara Logan's "brutal" sexual assault at the hands of Muslims in Cairo?  Maybe there is more being reported in the MSM than I am aware of?  They're keeping the riots in Iran kinda quiet, too.  (WHOA!  Lightbulb coming on moment!  Perhaps it isn't being heavilly reported because it would possibly portray the perps in a bad light?)

Strange, eh?

At least Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is standing his ground in the face of obama and the DNC, SEIU, Nancy Pelosi backed protests in Madison.  I wish him the best.  The man has balls.

The unions were complaining yesterday about Governor Walker receiving a $43,000 campaign donation from the Koch brothers.  They failed to mention how much the unions gave his opponent in that election.  Weird how that works, huh?  A few months ago they were screaming that the SCOTUS had decided that businesses could contribute big money to campaigns.  They didn't mention that the unions could (and did) do the same thing based on the same decision.  Ahhhh well....

Change is in the air all over the world.  Good or bad?  I dunno, probably a bit of both.

The fact that the people in these Mid Eastern countries are standing up to overthrow "tyranical" regimes, right or wrong, gives me hope....  Will they replace bad with worse?  Who knows?  Popular self determination.

First one, then another, and another....  Who knows how far it will go?

If it can happen in Libya, it can happen anywhere ;)

It amazes me how quiet the U.N. has been.  Weird.

Somehow, I don't think we're getting the whole story here.   Somehow, I think that our biased Liberal media tells us only what they want us to know.  Or what the people pulling their strings to make them dance want us to know.  You get the picture....  :)

Anyway....

Stay safe.

Liars....

                                                      Thanks to lefan-o-rama.tumblr.com

Consider that these teachers in Wisconsin are calling in "sick" from work.  Volunteer doctors have set up shop at the protest site to issue fraudulent "sick slips" to these people so that they will be excused from work without disciplinary action being taken against them.  (Notice how the Liberal doctors and Liberal teachers stick together and lie for each other.  Sheep)  Not only are they not doing the jobs that they are paid to do, they are lying about the reason they aren't at work in order to be paid and to escape disciplinary action while playing hookey protesting.

I gotta tell you, these are the kind of upstanding people that I would want teaching my kids.   Can you say selfish?   Unethical?

These are people placed in a position of trust who lack the moral convictions to tell the truth about what they are doing.  They are willing to leave their jobs, to desert the students whose education and well-being they are charged with, to lie about where they are in order to protest for something they "believe" in, but they aren't willing to suffer the consequences of their actions.  I'm impressed with the example they are setting.  Not!  Tell me again please, why do we teach our children to respect their teachers?

I have no respect for these people.  None.  They make me want to vomit.

They are the living definition of the modern Liberal.  I hope that the parents of their students and the taxpayers that pay these peoples wages let them know, in no uncertain terms, that what they are doing is selfish and unacceptable.

I hope that the people of Wisconsin will rise up and see these Liars for what they are...  Liberal "elites" sucking at the taxpayers teat.

They are proving that self-intrest and self-enrichment at the expense of the taxpayer trump the responsibilities and duties of an otherwise "honorable" profession.

In our new Liberal world there are no consequences, there is no requirement for personal responsibility, and there is no accountability for your actions.  That is, if you are a Liberal.

The fact that obama and assorted other Liberal elected officials are openly supporting these liars speaks volumes about their credibility and about where their loyalties lie.  Hint: it isn't with the "little people" of America.

In their minds we have already been relegated to the ranks of the Proletariat.

Do you like being lied to?  No?  Neither do I.

Sad, isn't it?

Stay safe.

What happens if....?

What happens if things get out of control in Wisconsin?  Who will be blamed?

It's a powder keg just waiting for a spark....

Any President with half a brain would be working quietly behind the scenes to gather enough accurate information regarding "the goings on" prior to opening his mouth and commenting about it.  obama just can't get past his community organizing days and his socialist origins....  He's already opened his mouth, adding fuel to the fire.  He said that what the Governor and the Republicans in the Wisconsin legislature are doing seems like an "assault on unions".

Someone needs to tell obama to shut the fuck up and start acting like the POTUS (something he has failed to do since being elected).  The situation in Wisconsin is a state issue.  It requires no involvement from obama or the federal government at this point in time.  I guess that for obama it goes back to the philosophy of "never let a good crisis go to waste".

obama is an agitator.  It's what he's good at.  It's where his experience is at.  A street corner thug.  Actually, a step below a street corner thug.  He's the guy who spews the rhetoric that gets the thug riled up, then stands back in safety and watches as events unfold.  An instigator.  No more, no less.

Remember Ronald Reagan and the Air Traffic Controllers Union?  They went on strike.  He told them to be back to work at a very specific time or face termination.  They tested President Reagan.  They miscalculated.  He fired them.  I miss President Reagan.

The left obviously has the media on their side.  Huffpo and others are definately putting their spin on the events in Wisconsin.  Their reporting is so "out there" that you'd hope anyone with even the slightest modicum of common sense would see it for the hyperbole that it is.

Remember a few months back when Sarah Palin used surveyors symbols on a map to point out the areas of the country where Conservatives had an opportunity to gain seats in the House and Senate?  Remember how the Liberals screamed that the images were "crosshairs" targeting Democrats?  It led them to blame her for the tragedy in Tucson within minutes of the shootings.  That one backfired on them, too....

What do you think about this?

Nothing provocative about this, eh?  LOL.

Interesting.

This is from the people who know better than we do how our children should be raised.  The same people who left their jobs as teachers and pulled the children that they were responsible for out of school and drug them to the Capitol in Madison to be used as props in their demonstrations.

How about this one?

It's not Scott Walker who smooth-talked his way into the highest office in the land like Adolph Hitler did, boys and girls.  Nope.  Not Scott Walker.  If you want to draw parallels between Hitler and a politician in America today who rose to power like Hitler did, I think you'll have to look a little further up the food chain to find the example that you seek.  All it takes is a bad economy, some vile rhetoric, a few lies, an insatiable lust for power, and a whole bunch of really stupid people to elect someone like Hitler to destroy a once great nation.

I sincerly hope that things settle down in Wisconsin without violence.  The fact that the unions have bused people in from other states to join them in their protests should give you pause....  The fact that obama is inciting them from the sidelines disappoints and scares me.

My wife's family is from Wisconsin.  Both of her parents and all of her aunts and uncles were born there.  I considered moving to Wisconsin after I got out of the Army but decided against it simply because they are not a "Right to Work" state.  Put simply, that means that if the workers at a company in Wisconsin are represented by a union and you take a job with that company, you are required by law to join said union.  Personally, I prefer to speak for myself.  I don't need a union to tell my employer whats good for me and what isn't.

T.L. Davis has some thoughts on these things over at TL in Exile.  Go read them.

Thats enough for today.

18 February 2011

Well....

Well, we've made it to Friday, for whatever that's worth.

I, like most of you, have been reading the blogs, the newspapers, and the online news.  It's what responsible citizens do.

The issue with the teachers union in Wisconsin is just the latest (or the earliest, depending on how you look at it) bit of heel digging going on in the world of the economy and government employment.  It's fixin' to get ugly, kiddies.  We have a new (old) governor here in Iowa, too, who is trying to rein in spending.  Government employment is one place it's happening and they are screaming.

Know what I think?  I think it should have happened years ago.  They have broken the bank.  Its almost over.  There is no recovery.

Kalifornia is, for all practical purposes, bankrupt.  The biggest expense in the state is legacy costs for state employees.  The cost of compliance with "Green" energy laws is killing them.  The rest of us are keeping them afloat.  They are economically and morally bankrupt.  Thats just one state.  Its everywhere.  Rotting from the core.

It's everywhere.  Read any of the blogs.  Read any news.  The world is falling apart.

I'm struggling to think straight this morning.  I hope everyone is prepared.  It's gonna be a wild ride.

Way to be cheerful on a Friday, eh?

Thursday....

Surely by now everyone realizes obama's intentions, or at least his direction.

Why do our Senators and Congresscritters continue to support his agenda?

He still has the suppport of those citizens (and non-citizens) who believe that they have the opportunity for personal gain from this administration, though that support seems to be declining.

I don't get it.  I'm confused.  Is it something in the water, or did everyone take a "stupid" pill?

Just curious.

16 February 2011

Think about this....

"I have read with keen interest all of the attempts by various pundits and thinkers to rationalize and discern the motivations of Barack Obama. I have yet to hear anyone properly articulate the motivation behind Obama’s destructive actions. Most reasonable, clear-thinking people now fully understand that this country is being destroyed before our very eyes. The most solid proof of this came earlier this week with the release of the Obama regime’s 2012 budget which, if adopted, would incur $26.3 trillion in new debt over the next decade. There is only one possible way to spin this fact with any degree of positivity: the United States will not incur $26.3 trillion in new debt over the next decade because the economy will collapse, the government will default and the Republic will cease to exist long before we burn through another $26.3 trillion. So, we’ve got that going for us, which is nice - to paraphrase the great Carl Spackler."

A little light reading....

Sunday morning blog surfing landed me here today.

Definitely an interesting place.  It puts things in a different perspective.  A larger world perspective.  A world that we are part of.  It's all tied together, my friends....

A lot of it involves the United States in general, and obama (and his administration) in particular.  One article claims that the Egyptians didn't care all that much for Bush the Second, but that they trust obama even less.

The world is getting to be a very dangerous place.

The United States has made a lot of promises around the world over the years and has, for the most part, kept them.  It appears that that has been changing over the past couple of years.

Scary.

Definition of a difference....

A friend just sent me this article.

I think it's a good article for a couple of reasons.  One, it's just plain a darned good article :)

Two, he defines one of the most basic differences between Liberals and Conservatives.  "Opinions based on "feelings" vs opinions based on facts."  I don't think that's what he meant to do.... To define that difference.  But he did.  Most excellent!

I've always said that Liberals don't think.  They "feel".  If they could think they'd realize that they don't think.  Perhaps, then, they would think.   But then they wouldn't be Liberals.

Friday....

I got here, from here.

Read the blogs.

Yes, it's the definitive Constitutional crisis.

Everyone has been thinking it.  It's finally been spoken aloud.  Impeach.

Is impeachment the answer?  I don't know.  ;)

The fact that obama is still incredibly popular with Liberals should scare the crap out of us.  We are being led down a path of self destruction and his followers are cheering him on.  Are they stupid? (rhetorical question)

Its pretty apparent that he has a misguided regard for the Constitution.  His comments during his interview with Barbara Walters during his election campaign in October of '08 should have been a wake up call for anyone watching.  "The Constitution is an outdated document.  It tells only what the Government is not allowed to do.  It doesn't tell what the Government is obligated to do for it's citizens".    Whoa!  This guy is supposed to be a constitutional scholar?

The Egyptian Revolution....

Read all about it from someone who is there....

"Friday was an unprecedented event in Egypt. While it is impossible to guess the number of protestors on the streets that day, it is safe to say that they exceeded one million. Every Mosque was a launching site for a demonstration. The Islamists were out in full force. The slogans that day were quite different than the previous ones. Islamic slogans and activists were clearly visible. The security forces were faced with wave after wave of protestors that came from every street. In 4 hours, the security forces were collapsing."
