Well, we've made it to Friday, for whatever that's worth.
I, like most of you, have been reading the blogs, the newspapers, and the online news. It's what responsible citizens do.
The issue with the teachers union in Wisconsin is just the latest (or the earliest, depending on how you look at it) bit of heel digging going on in the world of the economy and government employment. It's fixin' to get ugly, kiddies. We have a new (old) governor here in Iowa, too, who is trying to rein in spending. Government employment is one place it's happening and they are screaming.
Know what I think? I think it should have happened years ago. They have broken the bank. Its almost over. There is no recovery.
Kalifornia is, for all practical purposes, bankrupt. The biggest expense in the state is legacy costs for state employees. The cost of compliance with "Green" energy laws is killing them. The rest of us are keeping them afloat. They are economically and morally bankrupt. Thats just one state. Its everywhere. Rotting from the core.
It's everywhere. Read any of the blogs. Read any news. The world is falling apart.
I'm struggling to think straight this morning. I hope everyone is prepared. It's gonna be a wild ride.
Way to be cheerful on a Friday, eh?
Stay safe.
As for me? I'm going to the gym.
ReplyDeleteOn the upside the teachers in Wisconsin are having to march around in the cold. Good!
Have a wonderful weekend ;-)
You have a wonderful weekend, too, young lady.
ReplyDeleteMe? I'm going to go pick up some more canned goods.... ;)
The ride is just beginning, Blue- the wild part hasn't even come into view yet. Pick up more ammo, too, while you're out. (Tell Mother that I agve you permission ;) )

Shy....
ReplyDeleteMy momma is long gone but, nonetheless, I'm fairly well stocked. She would have approved. In fact, she would have egged me on.... She was a good girl. A little crazy, perhaps, but a good girl. :)
