Earlville Truck Show....
The annual Earlville Truck Show and drag races. All proceeds go to cancer research. The wife and I met our #2 manchild over there and spent a couple of hours looking at trucks and watching the drag races. (He drove the gray Peterbilt cabover in pic #1 over yesterday)
A (barely) sub 20 run on the 1/8 mile Tri State Dragway seems pretty impressive. 65 mph range for top speed :) Like I said, something different. Good people there.
Should have gone over last night and watched the truck rodeo and truck pulls.... The manchild says that a bit of beer was downed :) Ahhh well.....
Stay safe.
Beer and dragstrips! Now we're talking, although we used to just race on the back roads. Back when boys were boys and there were no PC Communists running around telling everybody what's good for them.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days, Brock. I smile when I'm driving or riding on the county roads and see the rubber marks where some "racing" has occured. Makes me think of times long ago. (Vodka and apple cider was pretty good. Not while driving, though)
ReplyDeleteGood looking trucks...
ReplyDeleteAdrienne.... I can't imagine the money some of those guys put into them. Most of them were "work" trucks. It was a good time.
ReplyDeleteMy #2 manchild is also a trucker. He doesn't have his own rig yet but he has dreams.
ReplyDeleteDreams make the world go 'round, Jim. :) When you stop dreaming, you're screwed. May as well be dead.
ReplyDeleteWow--what a blast from the past! It's great to see that old iron still running, but I'd rather not actually return to the days of the cabover...!
ReplyDeleteWraith.... It's hard just getting in and out of a cabover, especially for an old guy like me! :)
