UK Riots Cause Amazon Aluminum Bat Sales to Increase 6,000%

Amazon UK has seen a drastic increase in sales of “riot gear” as the violence continues to outrage the country. The London riots have caused the sales of aluminum baseball bats and other weaponry to soar.
The online store witnessed an increase in bat sales by 6,000 percent on Tuesday, an increase of more than 4,000 percent within 24 hours, as reported in UK news. Furthermore, there are a total of seven different kinds of baseball bats in the Top 10 on Amazon.
The Mirror points out that the sales either represent the number of residents gearing up to protect themselves, or to contribute to the rioting that rages on.
Reportedly, the most popular item is a Rucanor aluminum baseball bat which is 60cm long and costs £17.15, and the second highest desired item is a military police telescopic Tonfa – 21″ costing £25.99.
CNN Money NY reported on the riots that have been going on across Britain for three days now, detailing that the outbreak of violence first began after police fatally shot a local man, Mark Duggan, 29.
The shooting took place in London’s Tottenham neighborhood on August 4 and since riots and looting have spread to other British towns, forcing government to call in police forces.

Stay safe.
