Blue, the video is first-class, and your comment "the folks that need to see it never will" is dead on target. If someone is soaked in modern American culture with all the leftist crap, they don't know any better because it's part of the air they breathe. So they won't even understand the video. I was born in 1944 and remember the Cold War very well. My dad was a WWII vet, worked for the FBI; he always said Joe McCarthy was right, and I remember him saying that even back in the early 50s. Thanks much!!
Quick question when ever I hear someone talking about "forced morality" I want to ask *who's* morality is it that we should choose? When people talk about what is a family unit or how to *deal* homosexuality, I want to ask, "So what do you do with those who don't agree with you or want come over to your side? Reeducation Camps, excile or death?" That was the genius of Thomas Jefferson and Ayn Rand they both understood that force on ether side of the argument was evil. That it was just as evil for religions to use force to get you to comply as it was for the government.
In Notes on Virginia (1782), Thomas Jefferson said: "The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."
If not we will end up like Iran; a theocracy.
I find it interesting when those that argue morality, argue that their morality is the only morality.
I do good works because good things come my way. When I do bad things bad things happen to me.
If an evil man wants to do evil things, but doesn't because he fears going to hell, is he no longer evil?
Bob, yes, McCarthy was right. We had just finished a war against Fascism in Europe and a war against Communism in Korea. We were beginning to fight a long "cold war" against communism. I think the prevailing attitude was that it couldn't happen here. People thought McCarthy was a reactionary nut. What did that do for (to) us?? It opened the door for the folks that McCarthy was railing against to quietly sneak in and take over. Their patience has paid off. They've almost got us. Has obama tipped his hand too soon and wasted all of their plans of the last 60 years? We can only hope.
Excellent thoughts, Josh. Thanks for the link. It seems that our forefathers were much smarter than we are. :)
McCarthy was right! I lived in San Fransicko near Haight Ashbury in the 70's. I visited Berekley and lived with and near some "Weathermen" and got to know about the underground Communist movement there. I have visited college campuses from Colo. St. to OH St.(Kent),FL St. to Penn St. where I attended. We are infected at the very roots of our culture. Now we have elected the enemy. "We have met him and HE is US!"
Can't see that too many times.
ReplyDeleteBrock, the folks that need to see it never will. They agree with the "agenda" Thay don't get it. Hell, they're the ones doing it.
ReplyDeleteI just hope that the "good guys" are paying attention and have the brass when it's needed....

Just some thoughts,
