Talking about old ... the year I was born, the best planes going (that I remember) were the B17G, the Spitfire, the P51 Mustang, and the P38 Lightning. If I recall, the Stuka and Zero were pretty fearsome stuff too.
Second my long time girlfriend (now just friend) is blind. Her nickname is "The Bat".
Sioux City have been the bats for decades. Their A-7D's had a teeny little bat in the color flash on the top of the tail. The F-16C artwork just took the meme a teeny bit further.
Purdy' little thing!:)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that could make this picture any more badass is if we knew her missiles were covered in bacon grease.
ReplyDelete(And I swear, the word verification was 'critic.' Is that a sign or a remonstration?)
Brock... Yep. :)
ReplyDeleteBrigid... I have no doubt that you'd give her a run for her money. Think of all you would have missed if you would have been born 10 years later.. :)
Notice that she's from the Iowa Air National Guard out of Sioux City. Makes me proud! :)
I flew a Piper Trauma-Hawk in there a couple of times... Nice airport.
Wraith... I love the bacon grease idea. In my mind it is so. They are covered in bacon grease!
ReplyDeleteI also get a kick out of "word verification" sometimes. It's amazing what it comes up with.
Interesting! 85-482 is the plane I built a model of and the one I made a skin for in Falcon 4.0.

ReplyDeleteMcThag... Gotta be the Iowa connection. :)
ReplyDeleteBob... Sweet old planes, all. If I could fly any plane it would be the F4 Phantom. Second choice would be the A6 Intruder. Call me crazy. :)
Nice!
ReplyDeleteYep, the airplane AND the pilot :)
ReplyDeleteTwo things led me to that plane.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I am an Expatriate from Ames.

I remember the A7s coming to Waterloo for static displays as well as fly-bys when we had an air show. Good stuff.
ReplyDelete"The Bat" That's good. Glad she's still your friend.
