From David P. in S.C.
Isn't It Ironic?
The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps, ever. Meanwhile, the National Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "please do not feed the animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.
Stay safe.
I have had to bite my tongue so many times when I see someone buying food with food stamps and then laying out $30 for lotto tickets and cigarettes.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's good.:)
ReplyDeleteB... I hear ya. We have all been in the checkout line at the grocery store and seen the incredible things that are purchased with foodstamps or the new "face saving" EBT cards. It's sometimes pretty crazy!
ReplyDeleteBack when the old paper coupon books of foodstamps were issued, some folks sold them for 25 cents on the dollar so they could buy crack. We used to see something in the paper at least once a week about this. Not so much anymore with the EBT cards.
Ahhhh well.
Brock... David has a lot of time on his hands to search for stuff like this. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo true! Good find!
ReplyDeleteHello Brigid, how's you knee doin?
ReplyDeleteNational Park Service is Dept of Interior, not Ag. That said, your quote would more appriopriately read: "please do not fund the emoployees" because the employees may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, Anon. :)
