4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

I saw this today and was pretty pissed off. When I got my CCL I was told by a lawyer in one of my training classes that I am legally responsible for the destination of every bullet that leaves my weapon. If I had responded like these NYC cops and hit 9 bystanders, I'd be prosecuted and imprisoned. They won't receive any discipline nor have to sit in a court room in front of a jury of citizens. All men are created equal, just some are more equal than others I guess.

Still... 16 rounds fired, 9 bystanders wounded. At least they got the bad guy, eh? :)
