Confiscation...

From David P.

Proclamation by President Franklin Roosevelt, April 5, 1933

I, as President do declare that the national emergency still exists; that the continued private hoarding of gold and silver by subjects of the United States poses a grave threat to peace, equal justice, and the well-being of the United States; and that appropriate measures must be taken immediately to protect the interest of our people. Therefore, pursuant to the above authority, I hereby proclaim that such gold and silver holdings are prohibited, and that all such coin, bullion or other possessions of gold and silver be tendered within fourteen days to agents of the Government of the United States for compensation at the official price, in the legal tender of the Government. All safe deposit boxes in banks and financial institutions have been sealed pending action in the due course of the law. All sales or purchases or movements of such gold and silver within the borders of the United States and it's territories, and all foreign exchange transactions or movements of such metals across the border are hereby prohibited.

Background info here.

What does that mean, "equal justice"?  Just curious.  Seems a bit ambiguous, a bit subjective.  That term just happened to catch my eye.

Anyway...

An Executive Order, the stroke of a pen...  One man's decision.  It becomes the law of the land.  See how easy that was?  Its for the common good, ya know.

Imagine what else they could confiscate via Executive Order.  Pretty much anything, I'd guess.  And they will.  And you know it.  They will take from the Makers to give to the Takers.  They will take it all.  Everything.  Do you know what will allow them to do it?  The fact that no one will resist it.  Incremental dissolution of our rights.  Incremental theft of our property, including the earnings of our labor.  One small bite at a time.  NO ONE WILL RESIST IT.  You know that's true.  Think about that.

Stay safe.

  1. I know that's true. Soon, real soon, they will be after the 401k's and IRA's. Count on it.

BTW - My parents hated FDR with a deep and abiding passion. Thanks to them, I have a brain cell devoted to FDR hatred.

  3. Adrienne... I'm sure you're right about the 401k and IRA. Easy money for them. What else will they confiscate?

    Craig... Yep, everything.

Guns will have to go, too, at some point. Gotta make it safe for our masters and their minions. They all want to go home to their families at the end of their shifts, ya know.

  4. Blue: "Equal justice", in FDR's edict, it seems to me, is the same as today's "equal outcomes", and "level playing fields". FDR was a socialist, cut from the same bolt of cloth as BHO; only the semantics have changed.

Adrienne: My grandfather was a Sicilian immigrant who also despised FDR. Contrary to today's revisionist historians, FDR was not universally loved.

Did anyone else catch the phrase "subjects of the the United States"?

  5. David... Yes, FDR was a Socialist. I grew up in a house full of Democrats and my grandfather was a hardcore UAW guy. The whole Socialist/Union thing never sat well with me. It took awhile for me to figure out why.

When I graduated high school I had two choices, as I saw it... John Deere or the Army. Obviously, I chose the Army and I have no regrets.

Just had a conversation with my oldest the other day regarding Deere. He is thinking about applying... They pay pretty well. I asked about the Union. He said, yeah, he'd join the Union, if only to avoid having his tires slashed. I told him that I couldn't sell my soul for a few bucks an hour. The Unions are the biggest contributors to the Democrat's political campaigns. They are the people who put obama in office. That money comes from your union dues.

The UAW Local here prints a Tee Shirt every year with the names of all of the "scabs" that are employeed by Deere printed on the back. They wear it proudly.

    Ahhh well.... Whatcha gonna do?

Yes, I noticed the "subjects" line...

  6. @David - my grandparents came from Calabria. They hated FDR, too.

  7. FDR was a Red through and through. His cabinet was full of Reds. He illegally violated the neutrality laws to arm the UK, provoking the Germans to declare war so that he could help out his close friend and fellow Red Josef Stalin, and so six hundred thousand young American men died to prop up Stalin and put Mao T'se-Tung and Ho Chi Minh into power.

It is politically incorrect--THOUGHTCRIME--even to think in these terms, but the truth is the truth.

  8. Obama is using Executives orders as if he was a Monarch. I see only bad things over the next four years. Bury your guns and report them as stolen if necessary.
