Radically Wrong: The Right to Think Dangerous Thoughts
Despite evidence to the contrary, the government continues to embrace a theory that adopting radical ideas is a first step toward terrorist violence. Based on this discredited model, "preventive" policies are being pursued, resulting in discrimination, suspicionless surveillance of entire communities, and selective law enforcement against belief communities and political activists. The following is the third installment in the ACLU blog series "Radically Wrong," which highlights counterterrorism policies that are not only ineffective, but also undermine our constitutional rights.
Earlier this month, the White House blogged about its commitment to empower "members of the public to protect themselves against the full range of online threats, including online radicalization to violence," and announced the creation of a new interagency working group for that purpose. The working group will coordinate the government's efforts and develop plans—alongside private industry—to "implement an Internet safety approach to address online extremism."
The White House initiative raises a basic question: Is it appropriate for the government (in cahoots with private industry) to repurpose programs that, for instance, urge consumers to install anti-virus software and protect their credit card information into something that warns them against "bad" ideas?

So many things are happening within our government today to undermine our rights and to completely control us that we cannot possibly keep up with it all. While we focus nearly 100% on the Second Amendment violations that are being perpetrated upon us, our government is working on more ways to completely and totally control us.
The sad reality is that they have won. The majority of people who support obama and what he is doing are too stupid to understand whats going on. Unfortunately, it has been going on for a long time, long before obama.
It seems to me that obama's handlers are tired of waiting and they want their change now.
It all ties together, ya know. They can't assume the control they desire until the guns are gone. They don't care about the guns that are in the hands of criminals. Never have. Those guns are merely a small part of the total. They don't matter. Besides, they may want those guns in the hands of criminals. Guns in the hands of criminals may fit right into their plans.
Why do you suppose they keep pushing gun control in light of the well known fact that gun control doesn't work? Look at any major city. Look at the cities like Chicago, New York, and Washington D.C.. The "would be" controllers don't even speak publicly about those areas when attempting to force more gun control. If it is brought up in conversation, they ignore it and continue on with their anti-gun diatribe.
What they do care about are the 300 million or so guns that are in the hands of law abiding citizens. Those guns can make the implementation of their plans extremely difficult, if not impossible. Those guns can be a serious problem to the success of their plans.
Have you noticed that the states have taken up the gun control mantra? Why is that? Do you suppose that obama and his minions realize that federal gun control is going nowhere and are pushing the states to implement their own gun control policies?
If you think that the politicians are telling you the truth when they say they support The Second and that they have no plans for registration or confiscation, if you believe that, you are stupid. A special kind of stupid. You don't want to believe what you see with your own eyes. You'd rather believe the lies you are being told, even though you know they are lies.
Over a third of the population of Amerika own guns. Half of those people will turn them in or register them immediately if the government tells them to. Half of those that remain will comply when the threat of punishment becomes real. We are primarily a nation of law abiding citizens. We do what we are told.
For at least the past 40 years or so, we have been taught that industry and ingenuity are bad things. We have been shown that the confident, capable American is an arrogant, selfish man and is not to be tolerated. We have been beat down to become a nation of mediocrity in order to make the less capable and the lazy feel good about themselves. We have been forced to share the fruits of our labors with those who will not work in order that they may lead a lifestyle similar to ours. We have been brought down through government programs and taxation so that the leeches of our society can be brought up. The harder we work, the more they take.
It has happened incrementally, one small bit at a time. Most of us didn't even know it was happening. Some still deny it.
Anyway, that is the end of my rant for this morning.
Have a great day.
Stay safe.
