My last assignment before I retired from the USAF was with NORAD. I worked 12-hour shifts rotating through days, nights, and weekends. At about 0100 hours Alaska time on the night shifts I worked that month I would start reading my blogs and surfing the Internet. Things were different then and as long as it wasn’t porn it was pretty much allowable. I read many patriot sites and followed their posted links to other sites. I was not snooping on or trolling for the man I was just reading because the subjects of those blogs interest me, as it still does today. I even saw one of those internet IP address windows posted on a site I frequented which showed “USAF Elmendorf AFB AK” with a time stamp around the same time I would be surfing. Many service members agree with what you guys are posting.
I'm pretty sure that if we would have had computers and the internet back in the days when I was in the Army I would have been doing exactly the same thing. It would have made those long nights on CQ or SOG go by much faster :)
Interesting, though I've never bothered looking at mine. Bet Peter's site is crawling with them.:)
ReplyDeleteStill, I wish they would send an email or something. Strike up a conversation... Share recipes or something :)
