The Bin Laden lie...

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh says that the raid which killed Osama Bin Laden in 2011 is “one big lie” and that “not one word” of the Obama administration’s narrative on what happened is true.

In a wide-ranging interview published today by the Guardian, Hersh savages the US media for failing to challenge the White House on a whole host of issues, from NSA spying, to drone attacks, to aggression against Syria.
On the subject of the Navy Seal raid that supposedly resulted in the death of the Al-Qaeda terror leader, Hersh remarked, “Nothing’s been done about that story, it’s one big lie, not one word of it is true.”
Hersh added that the Obama administration habitually lies but they continue to do so because the press allows them to get away with it.
“It’s pathetic, they are more than obsequious, they are afraid to pick on this guy [Obama],” Hersh told the Guardian.
The raid that supposedly led to Bin Laden’s death has been shrouded in mystery for over two years. Speculation that the Obama administration may have embellished or outright lied about the true account of what happened has persisted, mainly because the White House has refused to publicly release images of Bin Laden’s body.
Although the White House said the corpse was immediately “buried at sea” in line with Islamic tradition, it quickly emerged that this was not standard practice.
Numerous analysts have claimed that Bin Laden had in fact been dead for years and that the raid on his alleged compound in Pakistan was little more than a stunt.
Other questions also persist, such as why the narrative and timeline of the raid has changed multiple times, why the White House initially claimed that “situation room” photos showed Obama watching the raid live when in fact there was a blackout on the live feed, and why neighbors in the immediate area surrounding the compound said with absolute certainty that they had never seen Bin Laden and that they knew of no evidence whatsoever to suggest he lived there.

True or not?  I dunno.  I do know that a lot of us who paid attention were aware that Bin Laden was suffering from advanced kidney failure long before he was "killed" in his Abbottabad compound 2 years ago.  For him to have survived 9 years in the harsh wilds of Afghanistan and Pakistan without medical attention and with such a well documented illness seems impossible.  But obama has the "ins" with Hollywood.  He can do anything and make it look real.

Whether the Bin Laden story suggested in the above article is true or not, I don't know.  The rest of what is said about all of the lies and media complicity is true.  A deaf, dumb and blind kid could figure that out.

Yeah, I went and saw Tommy while I was TDY to a small government training facility in Virginia back in early 1976.  Tina Turner was hotter than donut grease back then.  She still is.  :)

I do recall thinking at the time of the Bin Laden assassination that the story seemed hokey, that things didn't quite fit together as well as they should have.

  1. What the hell does Hersh want? He should know better than us that the media is in bed with the politicos, and that isn't going to change any time soon without a severe penalty for the news people.

  2. There were multiple reports of Bin Laden dying in late 2001 and into 2002 due to kidney failure. While there is no proof of such a death there is ample respected opinions that the videos allegedly made of Bin Laden subsequent to that time frame were elaborate hoaxes.

I've had strong suspicions -- still do -- that the raid that "got" Bin Laden was BS designed to give the Obamamessiah reelection points.

No proof of Bin Laden's existence, death or burial was offered; no one on board the ship were he was allegedly buried at sea saw the body or burial; and finally, the SEAL team that supposedly "got him" died in suspicious circumstances.

  3. I would never, ever, ever use a muslimes word as support for my argument. The writer of this article uses "neighbors" of the compound to support his argument that Obama, er sorry Osama, never lived there. Muslimes are bred to lie and cheat, that thought process is in their "bible". So if you use quotes from them; you will NEVER get me to believe your argument.

  4. That whole Bin Ladin raid story has stunk from the very beginning. Add to that the very suspicious circumstances in which a large number of Seal Team 6 perished and it smells even worse.
