Give it some thought...

  1. Compliancy, delusion and smuggness on our part. We weren't watching the ball and now we're surprised. Too busy watching out for everyone else's rights while ours were eroding at home. Only voters can take it back by insisting on term limits and strict standards as to who our candidates are (backgrounds) and qualifications. Eliminate the Electorial College - one CITIZEN, one vote. We have the technology. We have rules; we need to ENFORCE them. We don't demand consequences severe enough to stop corruption and pork barreling. We are in the time of bread and circus as our empire rots from the inside and crumbles on the outside. Until we cowboy up or force issue backbones to the Sheeple, this will continue and our run as The World Power will end badly.

If you believe the above is going to happen, you are delusional, no disrespect intended.
There is no way politicians are going to pass that, no way. As far as eliminating the Electoral College, one person, one vote idea. That just sets up a democracy, which we are NOT, and gives the majority the rule. I shouldn't have to be forced to do something just because a bunch of other people think it's a good idea. Mob rule isn't necessarily good rule.
    Just my opinion.
We are surrounded. Prepare to convert or lock and load. Your choice. I don't see any way out.

  3. Miss V - I don't believe the above will happen as long as human beings are running the show. Just a whimiscal "What if?" You're right. Thanks for the reality check - but, once in awhile a guy can dream - can't he? Take care.

  4. It took from the 1680s Navigation Acts to 1775 to rile the people up enough to revolt against the King. It took from 1764 to 1774 to complete the first half of the Revolution which led to the Civil War of 1775 1783 and until 1791 to complete the Revolution. The Tea Tax was just one gambit in a whole lot of attempt to subvert the Colonist.

  5. MADDOG61, yes we can dream, sorry to spill your Cheerios. ;-)
I often dream of just living my life and being left the Hell alone, sigh.
    You take care also.

  6. Look at that! A conversation between adults that doesn't end in hateful speech and ad hominem attacks! Awesome! :)

  8. I hear ya, Miss V. I turned 60 a couple weeks ago... I don't "think" I feel any different than I did 30 years ago. LOL.

  9. What's all this talk of acting like adults? One could have the view that respecful conversation is still prevalent with independent thinkers. ;)

A Belated Happy Birthday, Blue. :)

  10. Agree 100% on the thinkers comment. I love it when we can have an honest conversation without sinking to the depths of name calling and overt anger. :) Perhaps it makes us respectful and responsible rather than, well, Liberal or Progressive?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
