The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....

Independence Day...
~~~~~~
Hopefully, one day soon, we will stand united...
I believe that greedy people and people who had a lust for power began the process of corrupting what The Founders were putting in place for us almost before the ink was dry...
We never wanted it as badly as they wanted us to have it. We never understood the passion of their vision the way they intended it. We were never as willing to risk all that we have to protect it as they were willing to risk everything to create it... Every generation removed from the beginning has allowed it to slip further away.
Here we are.
What are we going to do about it?
Think about it.
Enjoy your Independence Day.
I love that version of the SSB.
ReplyDeleteI love America, I hate the government, I mourn the passing of the principles that made her great.
ReplyDeleteRobert... Me too.
ReplyDeleteAnon... Agreed.
My father-in-law, a Russian defector (BTW, he was a real Immigrant - Ellis Island, Citizenship study, served in US Army 26 years; the whole 10 yards)in 1954 lived to see the fall of the Soviet Union. Now, at 82, he and I will probably see the fall of the United States of America - the "American Dream" / "Middle Class" are now fantasies. Every 4th of July is precious!
ReplyDeleteMADDOG... Yes, every Independence Day is precious. Your father-in-law sounds like an interesting man.
