Driving is a right, not a privilege. Just like with guns, the government has convinced people they need a permit (permission) to exercise that right too.
Driving is a privilege, TRAVELING is a right. Driving is a commercial function (think taxi, truck drivers, etc.)
As for guns, the right to protect yourself is exactly that...a right. Since police are not required to protect you (numerous court decisions) and the state cannot do so, it is our responsibility to do so. This means that I do not need permission from some government moron to protect myself, my family, and my property any way I see fit.
