We've all heard how TR was a retarded progressive (?), & a progressive he was, in his way. I'd like to see modern progressives fight in a war, run a ranch, herd cattle, hunt in Africa, & survive near death in a South American jungle. The man had mettle, & I admire that.
We had the big stick and weren't afraid to use it. In the service, a unit reflected the personality of its commander - successful or not. So, now the US reflects the personality of its "commander". Enough said.
That's a man I have always admired. There are none of that metal today.
ReplyDeleteThe world prior to PC. ;) It's destroying us, ya know...

doubletrouble... He was a different breed, for sure. I don't think that being "progressive" meant the same thing in 1901 as it does today. LOL. ;)
