Michael Cain with a drawl is, um, yeah... different. The movie is excellent and you'll come to think it's the way he should talk. :) Definitely on the worth watching list. Be careful though... there may be a couple of places that make you get dust in your eyes.
Good fight scene but I am embarrassed to admit that at this stage of the end game, I am considerably more inclined to feel comfortable with the 12ga solution rather than an arthritic physical response!
I'm surprised the Liberal Left and ACLU haven't had this wonderful movie banned because their isn't one "person of color" spewing some LGBT crap. The kid didn't grow up twisted because he had been raised by two White uncles with values and morals - as well as a ken sense of adventure and independence. I miss those days. At least the Cold War is coming back. Good to have the "Soviets" as our recognized adversary back - at least we know where they're coming from.
1981-1985 - Kitzingen / Wurzburg - 3 ID and B/6/52 ADA (I-HAWK)(Last tactical air defense missile site; looked like Fire Base Mary Ann without the holes.)
Friedberg with 3AD 72-75 followed by a stint at Ft. Hood, Texas. Back to Germany in 76 to Schwabisch Gmuend. 56th FA Bde (PERSHING). Out in late 1979. Interesting years. Followed by several years with my local Reserve unit. Light Infantry. All good. ;)
I was stationed in Zweibruecken, about 12 k from the French border. It's the town where Napolean's white stallions came from and the bloodline is still preserved to this day. Also home to Europa's Rosengarten. I was on TDY in Berlin when the wall came down and got stuck there for an extra 2 weeks: couldn't get a train out and the autobahn was clogged with broken down Trabi cars the former East Germans left in their haste to escape.
I would still like to visit Berlin. It is my understanding that there is a part of old East Berlin that is about the same as it was when the Soviets were still around.
One of the best movies ever..............
ReplyDeleteYup. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell I may just have to watch that now! Looks interesting, if I can get past Cain having a drawl... :)

ReplyDeleteThat was a good movie. Liked the part at the end where sheriff said 'They went out with their boots on'.

ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the Soviets. I spent 5 years in Germany during the Cold War. ;)
ReplyDeleteThree years in Germany for me. I was in Berlin in '89 when the wall came down and have a piece of the wall as a door stop.
