Where did the ridiculous notion originate that a man may justifiably be robbed if enough of his neighbors consent to the crime?

    I believe it is more about government spending in general.

    Once upon a time government spending was focused on necessities. The things that The People "needed". Not so any longer. It is based today on "wants" and on what it takes to win over enough people to gain victory in the next election.

    And yes, I understand "Render unto Caeser..." Modern government spending goes far beyond that. ;)
