When Ross Perot ran the first time as an Independent, I had real enthusiasm for the electorial process. He seemed to want to do the right thing. However, it was disappointing to find that when he got bored with the whole idea, he, too, like all politicians / wealthy left us in the lyrch. There aren't any more "Mr Smiths" to go to Washington. They all end up like the "Seduction of Joe Tyne". FDR took the job for life - literally.
