The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." ~~Thomas Jefferson
"Who will protect us from those who protect us?"
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. ~ Thomas Jefferson
"None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free." ~~Goethe

From David P. ...
A Wolf, meeting with a Lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea to justify to the Lamb the Wolf's right to eat him.
He thus addressed him: "Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me."
"Indeed," bleated the Lamb in a mournful tone of voice, "I was not then born."
Then said the Wolf, "You feed in my pasture."
"No, good sir," replied the Lamb, "I have not yet tasted grass."
Again said the Wolf, "You drink of my well."
"No," exclaimed the Lamb, "I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother's milk is both food and drink to me."
Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, "Well! I won't remain supperless, even though you refute every one of my imputations."
The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.

Broken rules...
Sounds like the NYPD could use a little range time.
They violated the rules.

They violated the rules.
The Four Rules
1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.
2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.
3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.
4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NYPD Gunfire In Empire State Building Shooting Wounded All Nine Bystanders, Says Ray Kelly
New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said all nine bystanders wounded in Friday's Empire State Building shooting had been hit with police gunfire, CNN reported Saturday morning.
Crazy...
Next topic: The CU Electoral College Model has been correct in determining the outcome of every presidential election since 1980. They are predicting Romney over obama by more than 100 electoral votes. A bit presumptuous, if you ask me, considering that Romney hasn't even been nominated yet.
Romney is almost as scary as obama.
20 years ago...
This is in our local paper today. The Weavers went to school in my little town. Same school that I went to, actually. Read comment #1 and #2... They're everywhere, I guess. (referring to comment #2)
KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — When Sara Weaver saw her father Randy struck in the shoulder by a government sniper’s bullet in the Idaho wilderness in August 1992, she began to sprint back to the family’s cabin on a mountaintop called Ruby Ridge.
As the 16-year-old closed in, her mother, Vicki, opened the cabin door and stood behind it, holding Sara Weaver’s 10-month-old sister in her arms. Just then, a sniper’s bullet struck her mother in the head, killing her.
For the next nine days, the surviving Weavers holed up in the cabin while hundreds of federal agents laid siege in a standoff that helped spark an anti-government patriot movement that grew to include the Oklahoma City bombing.
Today, 20 years later, Sara Weaver has left the anger behind, finding religion — and forgiveness.
Mediacom sucks, part deux...
Yes, the home computer is down due to the fact that we had a bit of a storm Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Yes, the cable connector pulled out of the box at the pole again. It's a 5 minute repair when you have the part and the ability to get to the box. (Boom truck) The same thing happened a year or so ago. It took 6 days to get it fixed then. The storm was very localized and a falling branch caused the damage. It only affects my house. They made an "appointment" for next Monday to fix it.
Mediacom is the sorriest excuse for a business that I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. They are also the only cable operator in my little town.
We'll see how it goes. Perhaps they will find the time to fix it before Monday.
Have I ever mentioned that Mediacom sucks?
Stay safe.
Ammo...
Lots of ammo. I wonder how much ammo they use in a year?
DHS To Purchase Another 750 Million Rounds Of Ammo
NOAA, too?
I wonder what would happen if American ammo manufacturers, all American ammo manufacturers, refused to bid on these requests? What would the fedgov do then? Look for foreign suppliers? Take over the American manufacturers? Have the courts order the manufacturers to give a quote?
The manufacturers won't refuse, of course. We're talking about money here. Big money. And those manufacturers want their chance to get some of that money.
They want that money even if there was a possibility that the ammo would be used against, dare I say it... Americans? Of course, we have no idea why the DHS would want that much ammo. If they really want it at all.
Do you see the irony in the fact that our tax dollars are paying for the ammo they will buy?
And we all know that there is no way that our government would turn their guns on us. Ever.
Just sayin'
Someone is screaming...
"They want to end Medicare as we know it. They want to cut Social Security on the backs of seniors. They want to raise taxes on the middle class so that they can give bigger tax breaks to the rich. They will cut funding for education. He's part of the Radical Right and will cater to the Tea Party. They'll cut Medicade. They want to take us back to 1890."
They are screaming. They are all saying the same thing. So much so that one would think it was scripted.
The Left is going berserk! I think that they are scared to death of Paul Ryan. I'm loving this.
The quote from this morning's announcement that surprised me most? The one from Rachel Maddow...
"Paul Ryan is the one VP pick who can unite Liberal and Conservative America"
Who-da thunk?
As expected, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were shitting all over themselves. Elizabeth Warren and Debbie Wasserman Schultz were sounding typically stupid. And screaming.
I'm not a Romney fan. Never have been. I have to give him credit on this decision, though. It's a good one. Ryan could be a game changer. He can articulate the conservative point of view with facts and figures and without hyperbole. All the Liberals can do is repeat unfounded talking points in rebuttal. This could get interesting.
obama and his minions will have their work cut out for them. Paul Ryan has something that they don't have... Paul Ryan has a brain.
Of course the folks that are used to stealing getting the "free shit" have reason to be concerned.
