Seriously...?

Humor...

"Makes you think that the universe has called upon you to act like a rabid moonbat"
Gonna be a classic...  :)

Rant on...

So you owe $60,000 for your college debt?  I don't care.  You signed on the line and gave your word that you'd pay it back, with interest.  You agreed to the terms and conditions of the loan.  Now that you have your indoctrination education and all that debt, the reality sinks in.  Art history majors start out at about $30,000 a year teaching elementary school students.  Social work?  You'll be making about $28,000 a year.  You think that I should pay your indoctrination education debt?  That's just plain greedy, don't ya think?  I hate to say it but your parents and your 17 years of schooling failed you.  Your parents for not slapping some sense into you and your indoctrination education for failing to prepare you for the real world.

You make $36,000 a year and you're overwhelmed by your $250,000 mortgage debt and your car payments and your credit card debt?   Who's the dumbass that signed on the line?  You are.  It's your responsibility to pay the debt that you legitimately incur.  Not my problem.  If you try to make it my problem you're only gonna piss me off.  Blame the banker that wrote the loan?  Why?  YOU signed it.  YOU accepted the terms.  It's YOUR responsibility to satisfy YOUR debt.  Your attitude of "I want it all and I want it now" is what has screwed this up.

Should some of the big wigs on Wall Street be prosecuted?  Sure.  Did they break the law?  Some of them.  Were they unscrupulous in the way they made loans to poor dumb fucks that "wanted it all and wanted it now"?  Yep.

Should some of the people in government be prosecuted for this mess?  Again, yep, I think they should.  Start with the Bozo who added 4.3 trillion in debt to the citizens of this country in the last 2 1/2 years.  Then go after the Democrat Congress that let him do it.  They helped him do it.  Put all of them in jail.  Go after the butt-munches all the way back to Carter who forced bankers to make loans that they knew wouldn't be paid back because the people accepting the loans didn't have any income other than what the government gave them.  Go after Frank and Dodd.  They are all in on it.  Get 'em....

In the end, though, it's the idiots that "wanted it all and wanted it now" who enabled the bankers to make the rotten loans.   Kinda hard to put someone in jail just because they're stupid.

If you think that I should be responsible for your bad financial decisions, you're just greedy.  And stupid.

I'm done.  For now.

Occupy Cedar Falls....

The folks protesting corporate greed in Cedar Falls had about 8 tents set up and 3 people sitting around a picnic table in Overman Park, right across the street from City Hall.  No signs or chanting or picket lines.  Weird, eh?  Last night was their first night of protest.  It's starting to get pretty cool at night so I suspect they will pack it up and leave before too long.

They didn't seem too lively.

Ahhhh well.  Gotta do what ya gotta do, I guess.

A little humor...

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns
for the various groups of animals.

We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of
fish and a Gaggle of geese.

Less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well

as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and,

presumably because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.

Now consider a group of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous,

most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all

primates.

And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?

Believe it or not. . . a Congress !

You can look it up!

It is now becoming perfectly clear.

It's never too early...

It's never too early to make plans.  Many times, it's foolish not to make plans.

I think we are approaching one of those times.

The 2012 elections.

Who are the Republicans going to nominate?  How much would you like to bet that it will be someone who will maintain the status quo in Washington?  Someone who won't rock the boat too much?  Someone who will do what his masters at the RNC tell him to do?  Someone who will continue to perpetuate the "Us vs Them" mentality that has gone on in Washington for years and has benefitted the politicians more than the people whom they were elected to serve?  Someone who will maintain the status of politicians as "Elites"?

I'm betting it will be Romney.  I'd put money on it.  I don't like Romney for President.  He has a proven track record and it isn't Conservative.  Romney is going to be the Republican Party's choice to run against obama or Clinton in 2012.  Another "Establishment Politician".  No change.  The fix is in.  He's the one.

Meet the new Boss.  He's the same as the old Boss.

How neat would it be to upset the applecart?  How neat would it be to elect someone who wasn't even on the ballot, but someone whom we believe would effect real change and make America America again?  Someone who unquestionably loves this country and whom we could be sure would work to do the right things to restore America to her former glory.  Someone who scares the crap out of establishment political machine Conservatives and Liberals alike.

You say it can't be done?  I say that it CAN be done, if only we have the courage and fortitude to do it.  It's never been done before?  So what?  It's our right and responsibility to elect the persons best capable of doing the job of leading this country.  We owe it to ourselves and to our children and to our children's children.  It is our obligation to the future of America.

It's really the only choice that we have.  If we don't do it now, when will we do it?  If we don't do it now we may never have the chance to do it again.  We will never have the chance again.  We have slacked off and failed in our responsibilities in the past.  We have one chance to redeem ourselves.

Mediocrity breeds mediocrity.  The vast majority of today's politicians are barely mediocre.  Most of them aren't even that good.  America is mediocre.  Her people are mediocre.  The time is right to take a stand and to say "no more politics as usual".  This country deserves better than what we are being offered by those who would be our masters.  We deserve better.

We need to forget about obama and we need to forget about what the "establishment" politicians and their masters and handlers are doing.  We need to focus on the restoration of America.

We need to figure out who our candidates for President and Vice President need to be.

We need to exercise our right to vote for the people we want to lead us, regardless of who the RNC wants.  We need to exercise our right to write in our choices during the Primaries and during the General Election.  We need to spread the word and we need to start right now.

We need candidates who understand and believe in the Constitution as it is written and who are willing to govern based on the principles of the Constitution.  We need candidates who understand and believe in the Bill of Rights and who are willing to defend said BOR without compromise.

We need candidates whom we trust and who have a proven record of conservative values.  The same values that we have.

We need candidates who say what they mean and who mean what they say.

Who are these candidates?  We need to decide.  Quickly.  Personally, I think it's obvious, but what do I know?

You say it can't be done?  Ask Lisa Murkowski and the people of Alaska if it can be done.  If Strom Thurmond were still alive you could ask him if it could be done.  Say what you will about these two.  It doesn't matter if you agree with them or approve of them.  That isn't the point.  Both were elected to the U.S. Senate by The People as write in candidates.  It was the desire and will of The People that put them in office, not the desire and will of their party.

It CAN be done.

What say you, People?

Think.  Decide.  Act.

obama, Holder, Clinton, Jarret, Janet II....  They are all complicit.  Every Senator and Congressman who ignores this is complicit.  They're criminals.  Fire them?  Impeach them?  Yes, of course, then indict them and put them on trial.  These people represent the United States of America.  They are the face of America to the world.  We elected them to represent us.  They are not representing us at all.

Damn!  That had to hurt.  Bet he won't do it again...

Do the Occupy Wall Street people realize that they look and act like a bunch of morons?  Who do you suppose really organized this?  I don't think anyone that I've seen there at the "protest" is smart enough to organize anything.  Someone has to be behind it.

Communism...

The 20th century will be remembered as the bloodiest century in history. A major reason was the 1917 establishment by Vladimir Lenin and his Bolsheviks of a Marxist regime in Russia. The Soviet Union was the epicenter of a communist empire that, until its disintegration in 1991, spread doctrines of economic collectivism and class struggle to almost every part of the globe. From Eastern Europe to Africa to Latin America to Asia, hundreds of millions suffered the brutality of Marxist-Leninist dictatorships.
Now, if some in Washington have their way, the memories of the countless victims of communism will be remembered. Led by its courageous president, Jay Katzen, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (http://www.victimsofcommunism.org/) is seeking to erect a monument in D.C. dedicated to those who perished under Marxism's murderous reign. Their goal is to have the Memorial Monument built by October of next year. A monument is desperately needed because, sadly, communism's crimes risk being forgotten.

Read the rest here.

I thought that the above article was a good one.   I don't think that their goal of a monument in D.C. was ever realized.  Please correct me if I'm wrong on that.   A "Victims of Communisim Memorial" in Washington D.C. seems somewhat ironic today, given the current state of affairs in this country.

I'd also ask why do we ignore the communist genocides of the 20th century?  Not sure we even talk about the European genocide at the hands of Hitler in our schools.  Must not fit the agenda, eh?

Communism always fails.  What sort of mind is attracted to it in the first place?  Those who don't want to fend for themselves?  Those who are indoctrinated into it at school from kindergarten on?

Another time, another place...

You can draw your own conclusions.  I know that a lot of misguided souls still worship this murderer.  They know nothing about him other than what some slick (corporate) marketer put on a tee shirt and a poster.  A unique image and a slick phrase.  For some, that's all it takes.

I hold Che in the same regard as I hold Jane Fonda.

If the Occupy Wall Street crowd thinks the NYPD is brutal, they’ve seen nothing. Che Guevara would clear the “occupation” in a New York nanosecond. His colleagues of the time recall him cheering the Soviet tanks slaughtering Hungarian freedom fighters on the streets of Budapest. The youths they machine-gunned and ground under their tank treads were all “Fascists and CIA agents,” he raved.
“I’m a Stalinist,” Che Guevara boasted to Cuban colleague Carlos Franqui in 1957. To, him, Nikita Khrushchev’s denunciations of Stalin’s violent purges were nothing but “imperialist lies!” However, when Khrushchev’s sent tanks and Siberian troops to massacre Hungarian protesters, Che later conceded it certainly helped ameliorate his judgment of the premier’s earlier doctrinal errors.
http://bigpeace.com/files/2011/10/Che-Skeleton.jpg
Forty-four years ago this week, Ernesto “Che” Guevara got a major dose of his own medicine. Without trial he was declared a murderer, stood against a wall and shot. If the saying “What goes around comes around” ever fit, it’s here.
“When you saw the beaming look on Che’s face as the victims were tied to the stake and blasted apart by his firing squads,” said a former Cuban political prisoner Roberto Martin-Perez to this author, “you saw there was something seriously, seriously wrong with Che Guevara.” As commander of the La Cabaña execution yard, Che often shattered the skull of a condemned man (or boy) by firing the coup de grace bullet himself. When other duties tore him away from his beloved execution yard, he consoled himself by viewing the slaughter. Che’s second-story office in Havana’s La Cabaña prison had a section of wall torn out so he could watch his darling firing squads at work.
Two years ago, the U.K. Guardian interviewed Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro regarding his Cannes-winning role as Guevara in Stephen Soderbergh’s movie Che. “Dammit This Guy Is Cool!” was the interview title. “I hear of this guy, and he’s got a cool name, Che Guevara!” said del Toro. “Groovy name, groovy man, groovy politics! So I came across a picture of Che, smiling, in fatigues, and I thought, ‘Dammit, this guy is cool-looking!’”
In effect, Benicio del Toro probably revealed the inspiration (and daunting intellectual exertion) of millions of Che fans, including hundreds on Wall Street last week.
As a celebrity-hipster fan of Che Guevara, del Toro has plenty of company. Johnny Depp often wears a Che pendant and, in a Vibe magazine interview, admitted to “digging” the man. In fact, had del Toro or Depp been born earlier and in Cuba and attempted a rebel lifestyle, their “digging” of Castroite Cuba would have been of a more literal nature. They’d have found themselves chained and digging ditches and mass graves in a prison camp system inspired by the man they “dig.” Had their digging lagged, a “groovy” Communist guard might have shattered their teeth with a “groovy” Czech machine gun butt, or perhaps slashed their buttocks with some “groovy” Soviet bayonets.
In a famous speech in 1961, Che denounced the very “spirit of rebellion” as “reprehensible.” “Youth must refrain from ungrateful questioning of governmental mandates,” commanded Guevara. “Instead, they must dedicate themselves to study, work and military service, should learn to think and act as a mass.”
Those who “choose their own path” (as in growing long hair and listening to “Yankee-Imperialist” rock & roll) were denounced as worthless “roqueros,” “lumpen,” and “delinquents.” In his famous speech, Che Guevara even vowed “to make individualism disappear from Cuba! It is criminal to think of individuals!”
http://bigpeace.com/files/2011/10/che_guevara.jpg
Tens of thousands of Cuban youths learned that Che Guevara’s admonitions were more than idle bombast. In Guevara, the hundreds of Soviet KGB and East German STASI “consultants” who flooded Cuba in the early 1960s found an extremely eager acolyte. By the mid-’60s, the crime of a “rocker” lifestyle (blue jeans, long hair, fondness for the Beatles and Stones) or effeminate behavior got thousands of youths yanked out of Cuba’s streets and parks by secret police and dumped in prison camps with “Work Will Make Men Out of You” emblazoned in bold letters above the gate and with machine gunners posted on the watchtowers. The initials for these camps were UMAP, not GULAG, but the conditions were quite similar.
Today, the world’s largest image of the man whom so many hipsters sport on their shirts adorns Cuba’s headquarters and torture chambers for its KGB-trained secret police. Nothing could be more fitting.
The most popular version of the Che T-shirt, for instance, sports the slogan “fight oppression” under his famous countenance. This is the face of the second-in-command, chief executioner, and chief KGB liaison for a regime that jailed political prisoners at a higher rate than Stalin’s and murdered more people in its first five years in power than Hitler’s murdered in its first six.
One day before his death in Bolivia, Che Guevara — for the first time in his life — finally faced something properly describable as combat. He ordered his guerrilla charges to give no quarter, to fight to their last breaths and to their last bullet. With his men doing exactly what he ordered (fighting and dying to the last bullet), a slightly wounded Che sneaked away from the firefight and surrendered with fully loaded weapons while whimpering to his captors, “Don’t shoot! I’m Che. I’m worth more to you alive than dead!” His Bolivian captors viewed the matter differently. In fact, the following day they adopted a policy that has since become a favorite among many Americans who encounter (so-called) endangered species threatening their families or livestock on their property: “Shoot, shovel, and shut up.”
Justice has never been better served.

Condolences...

U.S. State Dept. contacts Khan family

Official offers parents condolences on death of al-Qaida propagandist.

An official from the U.S. State Department has called the Charlotte family of al-Qaida propagandist Samir Khan to offer the government's condolences on his death in a U.S. drone attack last week in Yemen, according to a family spokesman.
"They were very apologetic (for not calling the family sooner) and offered condolences," Jibril Hough said about the Thursday call from the State Department to Khan's father, Zafar.
The phone call came a day after the family released a statement through Hough that condemned the "assassination" of their 25-year-old son - a U.S. citizen - and said they were "appalled" that they had not heard from the U.S. government to discuss their son's remains or answer questions about why Khan was not afforded due process.
On Friday, State Department spokesman Harry Edwards confirmed to the Observer that the call had been made, but said "privacy issues" kept him from offering details.
Hough said the Thursday conversation lasted a few minutes.
"It wasn't just 'I'm sorry' and hang-up," said Hough, who added that the phone call included no discussion of the status or condition of Khan's remains.
Khan was killed along with cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.
Also a U.S. citizen, al-Awlaki was a leader of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and appeared to be the main target of the drone attack.
Hough said Khan's father's reaction to the call was "kind of positive and optimistic."
"The (family) statement appears to have gotten their attention."
But, Hough added, the family would still like answers to the civil liberties-related questions.
"The discussion doesn't stop with a phone call, though the contact was a step in the right direction," he said.
Khan authored a radical blog while he lived in Charlotte - one his father, Hough and others unsuccessfully tried to persuade him to abandon. Then, in 2009, Khan moved to Yemen to produce al-Qaida's "Inspire," an English-language online magazine. In one early edition, Khan said he was "proud to be a traitor to America."
One of his articles was titled "How to Build a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom."
New York sightings
Meanwhile, a New York congressman said Friday that federal authorities became aware of Khan when he contacted other suspected terrorists on Long Island in recent years.
Rep. Peter King told The Associated Press that Khan was not the original target of investigators.
King says Khan "came on their radar" between 2007 and 2009, when he was seen meeting with two terror suspects on Long Island.
The congressman said those two suspects are still being watched.
Newsday reported Friday that Khan had lived on Long Island for about a decade before moving to North Carolina in 2004.

Weird.  I wonder what constitutes a "radical" blog?  I suspect that the definition is situational.

This is what a mob looks like...

From Ann Coulter writing at Human Events...

I am not the first to note the vast differences between the Wall Street protesters and the tea partiers. To name three: The tea partiers have jobs, showers and a point.

No one knows what the Wall Street protesters want -- as is typical of mobs. They say they want Obama re-elected, but claim to hate "Wall Street." You know, the same Wall Street that gave its largest campaign donation in history to Obama, who, in turn, bailed out the banks and made Goldman Sachs the fourth branch of government.

This would be like opposing fattening, processed foods, but cheering Michael Moore -- which the protesters also did this week.

But to me, the most striking difference between the tea partiers and the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd -- besides the smell of patchouli -- is how liberal protesters must claim their every gathering is historic and heroic.

They chant: "The world is watching!" "This is how democracy looks!" "We are the ones we've been waiting for!"

At the risk of acknowledging that I am, in fact, "watching," this is most definitely not how democracy looks.

Sally Kohn, a self-identified "community organizer," praised the Wall Street loiterers on CNN's website, comparing the protest to the Boston Tea Party, which she claimed, "helped spark the American Revolution," adding, "and yes, that protest ultimately turned very violent."

First of all, the Boston Tea Party was nothing like tattooed, body–pierced, sunken-chested 19-year-olds getting in fights with the police for fun. Paul Revere's nighttime raid was intended exclusively to protest a new British tea tax. (The Wall Street protesters would be more likely to fight for a new tax than against one.)

Revere made sure to replace a broken lock on one of the ships and severely punished a participant who stole some of the tea for his private use. Samuel Adams defended the raid by saying that all other methods of recourse -- say, voting -- were unavailable.

Our revolution -- the only revolution that led to greater freedom since at least 1688 -- was not the act of a mob...

Media silence...

Media Silence Is Deafening About Important Gun News

By John Lott | Published September 30, 2011 | FoxNews.com
Murder and violent crime rates were supposed to soar after the Supreme Court struck down gun control laws in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Politicians predicted disaster. "More handguns in the District of Columbia will only lead to more handgun violence," Washington's Mayor Adrian Fenty warned the day the court made its decision.
But Armageddon never happened. Newly released data for Chicago shows that, as in Washington, murder and gun crime rates didn't rise after the bans were eliminated -- they plummeted. They have fallen much more than the national crime rate.
Not surprisingly, the national media have been completely silent about this news.
One can only imagine the coverage if crime rates had risen. In the first six months of this year, there were 14% fewer murders in Chicago compared to the first six months of last year - back when owning handguns was illegal. It was the largest drop in Chicago's murder rate since the handgun ban went into effect in 1982.
Meanwhile, the other four most populous cities saw a total drop at the same time of only 6 percent.
Similarly, in the year after the 2008 "Heller" decision, the murder rate fell two-and-a-half times faster in Washington than in the rest of the country.
It also fell more than three as fast as in other cities that are close to Washington's size. And murders in Washington have continued to fall.
If you compare the first six months of this year to the first six months of 2008, the same time immediately preceding the Supreme Court's late June "Heller" decision, murders have now fallen by thirty-four percent.
Gun crimes also fell more than non-gun crimes.
Robberies with guns fell by 25%, while robberies without guns have fallen by eight percent. Assaults with guns fell by 37%, while assaults without guns fell by 12%.
Just as with right-to-carry laws, when law-abiding citizens have guns some criminals stop carrying theirs.
The benefit could have been even greater. Getting a handgun permit in Chicago and Washington is an expensive and difficult process, meaning only the relatively wealthy go through it.
Through the end of May only 2,144 people had handguns registered in Chicago. That limits the benefits from the Supreme Court decisions since it is the poor who are the most likely victims of crime and who benefit the most from being able to protect themselves.
The biggest change for Washington was the Supreme Court striking down the law making it illegal to have a loaded gun. Over 70,000 people have permits for long guns that they can now legally used to protect themselves.
Lower crime rates in Chicago and Washington, by themselves, don't prove that gun control increases murders, even when combined with the quite familiar story of how their murder rates soared and stayed high after the gun bans were imposed.
But these aren't isolated examples. Around the world, whenever guns are banned, murder rates rise.
Gun control advocates explained the huge increases in murder and violent crime rates Chicago and Washington by saying that those bans weren't fair tests unless the entire country adopted a ban.
Yet, even island nations, such as Ireland and the U.K. -- with no neighbors to blame -- have seen increases in murder rates. The same horror stories about blood in the streets have surrounded the debate over concealed handguns.
Some said it was necessary to ban guns in public places. The horror stories never came true and the data is now so obvious that as of November, only one state, Illinois, will still completely ban law-abiding from carrying concealed handguns.
Forty-one states will have either permissive right-to-carry laws or no longer even require a permit.
The regulations that still exist in Chicago and Washington primarily disarm the most likely victims of crime.
Hopefully, even the poor in these areas will soon also have more of an opportunity to defend themselves, too.

Interesting, but not surprising.

Stay safe.

From David P. in S.C....

The following article is from an email I received from David P. this morning.  It is a page from a Liberal donation seeking website known as Nation of Change.

It appears that these folks are the same offspring of the folks who spent their time protesting the draft war in the late 60s and early 70s.  The author of this request for donations is Rebecca Buell, the executive director at Nation of Change.

This article is apparently directed at the "protestors" at Wall Street in NYC.  I'm pretty sure that she believes the crap that she's spewing to these kids who are protesting having to pay back their student loans that they can't afford because they aren't getting the high paying jobs that they were promised by their Liberal professors at the Liberal bastions of higher education that they attended.
They apparently don't realize that the "high pay" comes after many years of experience and hard (productive) work.  They don't realize how little they know.  They also probably failed to realize that their professors can only teach theory because they lack what we call "real world experience".  The majority of their teachers have spent their entire careers in academia drinking their coffee with fellow academians who also have no real world experience.

This should be chalked up to a "learning experience" by these freeloading little pukes.  What did should they have learned?  They should have learned that you can't believe everything you're told and that everything has a price.  They should have learned that Liberalism is a mental disorder and that all forms of Communism, Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, Che-ism, and Socialism are doomed to failure.  That you can't get something for nothing.  That when you alienate the "producers", they stop producing.

Anyway, read the following.  Keep in mind that there were "DONATE" buttons all over the original email.  I find that funny.

Dear Readers,
As the seemingly limitlessness of corporate greed continues to strangle every last breath of the people of our nation we have witnessed how the fear and frustration of the 99% can be channeled by our oppressors into perverted entities like the Tea Party movement.
With ruthless efficacy, the machine of the ruling class has conceived, funded, and promoted a false grass roots movement in which righteous anger is misdirected towards government and the people themselves. So convenient a device is the Tea Party for those like the Koch brothers who benefit as we turn against one another rather than recognize the shackles of our bondage or those who enslave us.
Yet a real movement of the people has developed, one that, like the original Boston Tea Party, targets corporate greed and seeks to strengthen rather than weaken our democracy. In this movement people are joined together rather than pit against one another and pursue justice rather than hatred.
Of course, the plutocracy rather than celebrating the exploits of this movement, arrest and imprison its participants. Rather than prime time news coverage this movement receives media blackout. Rather than corporate funding, the people have turned to each other as restaurants donate food and supporters around the world wire donations to fuel generators, and purchase rain coats and clean t-shirts.
Despite all obstacles, this movement is one fundamentally different from today’s Tea Party, and one behind which all people of this nation can rally.
With your tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)3 organization we will continue to broadcast the voice of the people’s movement, assist in building momentum across the country, and shed light on the corruption that has so crippled our middle class and poor.
Thank you for all that you do.
Respectfully Yours,
Rebecca Buell, Executive Director,

Donna Luca, Board President, and the NationofChange Team

Big surprise, eh...?

By Andrew Breitbart

New photographs obtained exclusively by BigGovernment.com reveal that Barack Obama appeared and marched with members of the New Black Panther Party as he campaigned for president in Selma, Alabama in March 2007.

The photographs, captured from a Flickr photo-sharing account before it was scrubbed, are the latest evidence of the mainstream media’s failure to examine Obama’s extremist ties and radical roots.
In addition, the new images raise questions about the possible motives of the Obama administration in its infamous decision to drop the prosecution of the Panthers for voter intimidation.
The images, presented below, also renew doubts about the transparency of the White House’s guest logs–in particular, whether Panther National Chief Malik Zulu Shabazz is the same “Malik Shabazz” listed among the Obama administration’s early visitors.

Tomorrow, J. Christian Adams, the Department of Justice whistleblower in the New Black Panther Party case, will release his new book, Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department (Regnery).

I doubt that anyone will be surprised.  I doubt than any Liberals care.  Those who voted for him failed miserably in their due diligence.

Herman Cain on the 2nd....

Herman Cain Soars to the Top of the Republican Field
According to a new Zogby poll this week, Herman Cain has soared into the lead and now sits atop the Republican field. Here are the latest results:
  • Herman Cain (28%)
  • Rick Perry (18%)
  • Mitt Romney (17%)
  • Ron Paul (11%)\
  • Newt Gingrich (6%)
  • Jon Huntsman, Jr. (5%)
  • Michele Bachmann (4%)
  • Rick Santorum (2%)
  • Gary Johnson (1%)
But where does he stand on the Second Amendment?

Cain is one of a few Republican hopefuls who have taken a strong stand on issues that are important to political conservatives. But where does he stand on the Second Amendment?
Some of the top contenders (such as Rick Perry and Ron Paul) have pro-gun records to run on. Others (such as Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich) have very mixed or anti-gun records in their haunted past.

But Cain has no legislative record.   We have no history in public office by which to judge him -- which is why it’s so important that GOA gets an answer back from him on GOA’s Presidential Survey.
Otherwise, we only have bits and pieces of speeches and interviews that Cain has engaged in.   And while those statements help somewhat, they also raise more questions than they answer.
For example, in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer earlier this year, Cain expressed strong support for gun rights: “I support, strongly support, the Second Amendment. I don’t support onerous legislation that’s going to restrict people’s rights in order to be able to protect themselves as guaranteed by the Second Amendment.”
But in answer to a follow-up question asking whether states or local governments should be allowed to impose gun control restrictions, Cain said, “Yes. The answer is yes, that should be a state’s decision.”
That’s an answer that needs further explanation, especially given the fact that almost one year earlier to the day, the Supreme Court ruled in McDonald v. Chicago that states and localities were limited with respect to interfering with a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms.
Now, to be fair, it could be that Cain is thinking: As President, it’s none of my business what the states do on guns or any other issue. A true constitutionalist (unlike the current President) would understand that the federal government has limited powers and is restricted to exercising the 17 or 18 powers that are spelled out in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.
Moreover, a true constitutionalist would understand that the states -- as James Madison said -- have “plenary powers” to try different approaches. As goes the cliché: the states are separate “laboratories” for public policy experiments.
Cain’s statement about state gun control does raise some important questions though:
  • Is he aware that the authors of the Fourteenth Amendment wanted to impose the Bill of Rights -- and specifically the Second Amendment -- upon the states?
  • What does he think about the Supreme Court’s decision in McDonald? Does he agree that states and localities -- subsequent to the Fourteenth Amendment -- are constitutionally barred from banning guns?
  • And what about concealed carry outside of one’s home state? As President, would Herman Cain sign or veto a bill like H.R. 2900, which provides for concealed carry recognition amongst the states?
We don’t have answers to these questions, and that’s why GOA’s Presidential Survey is so important. It asks about concealed carry recognition, the renewal of the semi-auto ban and repealing gun restrictions (like the Brady law and various import bans). Plus it gets the candidates’ views on issues such as UN gun control, undoing existing anti-gun Executive Orders and reining in the BATFE.
GOA has sent a survey to Herman Cain, but so far, he has not returned a completed questionnaire. And here’s where you can help.

ACTION: Please contact the Cain campaign and urge him to return GOA’s Presidential Survey. You can contact Herman Cain by cutting-and-pasting the message below after going to his contact page here: http://www.hermancain.com/contact-us

----- Pre-written letter to Herman Cain -----

Dear Mr. Cain:

Congratulations on your rise to the top of the Republican field. According to Zogby, you now lead in the polls.

I know that you have taken some strong constitutional stands in general. However, I would like to know where you stand on the Second Amendment in particular. I know that you have made some positive statements on firearms, but there have been other comments which have caused concern.
Gun Owners of America tells me they have sent you a Presidential Survey, but that you have not yet returned it. Their survey asks about issues that are very important to me including concealed carry recognition, the renewal of the semi-auto ban and repealing gun restrictions (like the Brady law and various import bans).

Would you please return GOA’s Presidential Survey? I look forward to hearing from them that they have your questionnaire in hand.

Sincerely,
