We have spent decades redefining, normalizing, and celebrating mental illness, then we lose our shit when that mental illness manifests itself in violence.

How are you doing? My cat is at the vet getting shaved. The mats in her fur are terrible. I's like a once a year thing. The house is empty, which is strange, even though I know she'll be back soon. (Josie, my cat)
