Yes, the home computer is down due to the fact that we had a bit of a storm Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Yes, the cable connector pulled out of the box at the pole again. It's a 5 minute repair when you have the part and the ability to get to the box. (Boom truck) The same thing happened a year or so ago. It took 6 days to get it fixed then. The storm was very localized and a falling branch caused the damage. It only affects my house. They made an "appointment" for next Monday to fix it.
Mediacom is the sorriest excuse for a business that I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. They are also the only cable operator in my little town.
We'll see how it goes. Perhaps they will find the time to fix it before Monday.
Have I ever mentioned that Mediacom sucks?
Stay safe.

I've had good luck with DSL from Century Link.
I had problems this weekendn. The laptop had been getting slower and slower, virus checks were good but it IS an old laptop. Brighthouse did a check and found my modemm not sending a strong signal back out. Within an hour and a half of the call I had a new modem.
This moring, nothing. I called them again, it was sunday so it went to some outsource center as the local place is closed. Heavy accent but the girl knew her stuff. Apparently McAafee had an issue reported and I couldn't log on. I was given a number to call their technical support to help uninstall and reinstall their program.
I was on hold an hour and a half listening to what I will only refer to when I write about it, as Japanese Porn Movie Music Soundtrack. But it was one song, played over and over and over. .
I finally uninstalled it myself. I didn't reinstall. I got a DIFFERENT virus protection, and happily shelled out $50 to do so if only to never have to hear that song again.
but nothing, not 34 hours in labor with Brigid Jr., eating bugs in the Far East or Steven Seagall movies is as bad as ComCast was.
