The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....
When I was stationed with the 3d ACR at Ft Bliss in 1975-77 Jimmy Carter declared amesty for everyone who wanted to come north. Juarez went from 750,000 to 2 million in the span of 3 months. At night, the invaders would be running across I-10 enough to cause traffic jams. The policia of Juarez were carrying AR-15s with 30 round magazines (the US Army still issuing the 20 rd mags) and telling us who visited that there were places they wouldn't go. Then after another month, and being in the field for gunnery, we come back to find the border closed due to a polio outbreak down there. Again, no one pays attention to history. This is even worse because kids are being used as pawns - overwhelming the system and medics. And DC sits on their hands.
@ MADDOG60 - "we come back to find the border closed due to a polio outbreak down there. Again, no one pays attention to history."Perhaps that is exactly their aim. Diseases were documented very early on, and, very early on these children (pawns I totally agree) where sent all across the country. CDC was nowhere in sight that I could find.As far as sitting on their hands - true, except they very quickly worked on putting those hands in our pockets. http://pjmedia.com/blog/senate-appropriators-want-1b-for-unaccompanied-illegal-immigrant-children/
