The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....
The caption is true. It took a while for the gubment wheels to get to turning. But, yeah that is exactly what happened. I think it would take a real long time to get our sh!t together today. The facilities, skills and will power are all mothballed or scrapped out. The infrastructure is badly eroded, we would have to import almost everything we would need to gear-up. We don't make it here anymore. The cost of such actions would be astronomical. I am not sure the job could be done under current laws, taxes, regulatory shackles, and available workforce skill levels/attitudes/ethics. Sad to say. Truthfully there are only a handful of nations globally that could gear-up on short notice. Israel, China, India, Russia, Germany, Japan, S. Korea all come to mind. Obama and his commie minions have decimated our retaliatory strike capabilities, and slashed our military personnel, hardware, and stockpile levels to the bone. If the damages to our long term, multi-directional readiness capabilities were a burn classification, it would be a 4th or 5th degree (into or thru the bone). Hopefully, Pres. Elect Trump will be able to pull us up and out of this deadly flat spin, before we slap the ground.
good post!thank you blue.....Wildflower
The world we live in has definitely changed. Not too sure it's better...Wildflower... Thank you. You're welcome. ;)
We didn't just kill them. We Nuked them. And it wasn't easy, since we hadn't invented nukes yet and we had to do that first.
genericviews... Americans are a creative and industrious bunch, eh?
Damn straight! They started it and we turned them into a 4th World-crater. Please correct me as I have not been to the WWII memorial or museum, but I was told that the stone-inscribed FDR's Pearl Harbor Address to Congress doesn't contain the "so help us God" closing of the "we will gain the inevitable triumph" passage. It was purposely left off in the name of PC. Is this true?
According to Snope's... (FWIW) http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/memorial.aspNot part of the sentence used in the quote.
