A long Sebastian Junger interview. I think he hits the nail on the head. Read it. Digest it. Understand it. Talk about it.
“I think this is probably the first society in history that actively
discourages an intelligent conversation about what manhood should
require of men,”
“There are no biological differences between the races … but there are
biological differences between the genders,” he says. “So feminists—very
understandably—got quite nervous at any discussion around that topic of
innate differences.”

We spend so much time trying to prove that men and women are exactly the same that we fail to realize that we are different.
I suspect that the false narrative that we have created about "equality" between the sexes is a very large part of the reason for the downfall of America today.
We don't know or understand what "equality" is. We have miserably failed in defining it. It is a moving target that we will never hit because we don't really know what we want. We have eliminated absolutes from our world because they are inconvenient and we do not want to be held to anything. We are destroying ourselves...

Since man figured out how to attach a rock to the end of a stick, much of mankind's creative effort has gone into the search for the ultimate weapon.
For millennia, war was a romantic adventure for young men, an opportunity to "go for broke" and gather fame, riches, honors, slaves, booty, territory, and so on.
Life could be humdrum and boring, but like an inveterate gambler, the young man saw a chance to throw the dice and come up a winner, or at least have some fun raising hell in some foreign place.
If the roll came up craps, it would be over quickly, 'cause you died either from a sword thrust or an arrow or from massive infection caused by one or the other.
Men go to war for the same reason they play sports: testosterone. In fact, many young men have died in a wide variety of pursuits, including war, because of too much testosterone and that feeling of immortality it engenders.
Wars have resulted from a sense of duty, a need for adventure, a compelling principle, a demanding religion, a strong patriotic feeling, a shortage of food or water, a megalomaniacal leader . . . lots of things. But mostly, an abundance of testosterone.
Are women different from men? Well, Duh! They tend to be smaller, less physically powerful, and better smelling than men. I'd kinda like to keep it that way instead of what one of the original women's libbers said: We are fast becoming the men we used to want to marry.
War is indeed hell. I stayed on active duty for 24 years because it was a good, honorable, rewarding life of fulfilling duty and camaraderie. But hurling bits of metal at high speeds toward perfect strangers who are there simply because some nut case told them to throw shit at you you is just fucking stupid. Survival, yes. But logical, no.
That said, for the good of the human race, I DO think it past time we played Cowboys and Muslims.

bocopro... Excellent. Thanks. Women should always smell better than men. ;)
Samuel... Welcome.
At the root of Soviet Marxism's failure, it was based on disregard of basic human nature, a fact which it tried to finesse using physical force. Now we are going down the same path of defying reality, even though our specific interpretations of equality may vary.
You are so right.
