The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....

"Who will protect us from those who protect us?"
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Or open carry, if that is what you prefer.
"...the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Pretty simple statement. Not sure it needs to be defined by the individual states or the courts. "Shall not be interfered with." Period. Couldn't be much clearer. So simple that even an idiot can understand.

A permit to exercise an inalienable right is the part I cannot get past.
There is hope that as this society becomes ever more leftist, conservatism will be branded as counter culture. I wonder how long before fully embracing the 2A will be like sticking it to the man? After all, isn't that the original intent of the 2A, at least in part?
In part, yes, I believe so.
I also believe that every single law that in any way restricts firearms is unconstitutional. I do not believe that states, cities, villages, localities, etc. have the right to restrict firearms in any way. I have no idea how an "unalienable right" became a "states rights" issue. Because the People allowed it, I guess. "Give up a little security for a little safety", or something like that. ;)
doubletrouble... Sad, isn't it? :(
