Our sheriff (Kootenai Cty) has already publicly said he will have no part of confiscating guns and doesn't give a hoot what the feds say or do. Period! I didn't vote for him, but he's turning out to be a good sheriff so far.
My Dear Adrienne... It is refreshing to know that there are law enforcement folks out there who feel the way your sheriff feels. I certainly hope that he prevails if things go stupid...

They are going to enforce the LAW. That is who signs their paycheck. After all, they are not called Constitution enforcement.
Stuart... Even though each and every sworn law enforcement officer in the country takes an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic...
If the past is an indicator of future actions, you are correct. With the exception of a few officers/agencies, the majority will follow orders and will infringe upon our rights as they did in NOLA and Boston and innumerable other places.
Unless there is a large scale, determined, nationwide uprising to say "NO MORE ENCROACHMENTS, NO MORE INFRINGEMENTS", it will be more of the same.
I believe that The People are finally beginning to realize that it is they, not the politicians and their monied Masters, who hold the real power. The problem as I see it is that there are far too many people who are willing, even wanting, to accept more government control over their lives. Just my opinion.

All preening and posturing aside LEO has and ALWAYS WILL do exactly what they are told to do by the people who sign their checks and guarantee their pensions and dental plan. LEO are the ULTIMATE whores.....doing ANYTHING to ANYONE regardless of ethics, morality, laws or the Constitution.....for MONEY...And for some the thrill of petty power.
