Debate...
I thought "Uncle Joe" came off as a rude and obnoxious prick in that debate.
He had to keep interrupting so that he wouldn't lose his train of thought before his allotted time for rebuttal came around.
He lost it anyway. Every time.
I expected Ryan to be better. He seemed unprepared for Uncle Joe being such a rude, obnoxious prick. At least Ryan seemed sincere and tried to remain polite. Have to give him points for that.
The moderator? Who was she? Didn't seem very neutral.
Ryan was right in his assessment though... Using obama's own words: "If you don't have a record to stand on you have to paint your opponent as a bad person and scare voters away..."
That's what Uncle Joe was trying to do.
It's all the obamanites have left. Failed policies. Suffocating debt. Excuses. Lies. The blame game.
Did Uncle Joe really say that their two appointments to the Supreme Court were "open minded" and "without an agenda"? Did he seriously say that? Anyone who believes that is stoopid.
My score for this debate? A 0-0 draw.
Ryan was a disappointment, Uncle Joe was an asshole.

WASHINGTON — The State Department said Tuesday it never concluded that the consulate attack in Libya stemmed from protests over an American-made video ridiculing Islam, raising further questions about why the Obama administration used that explanation for more than a week after assailants killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
The revelation came as new documents suggested internal disagreement over appropriate levels of security before the attack, which occurred on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S.
Briefing reporters ahead of a hotly anticipated congressional hearing Wednesday, State Department officials provided their most detailed rundown of how a peaceful day in Benghazi devolved into a sustained attack that involved multiple groups of men armed with weapons such as machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars over an expanse of more than a mile.

Detroit Rock City...
Detroit has it's share of problems. Detroit is dangerous. I wonder why Detroit doesn't make the news in the way that Chicago does? Do you 'spose it's because Detroit has had Democrat mayors for over 50 years and they can't take care of the violence problems. Or the economy problems. I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. It's Bush's fault.

DETROIT (WWJ) – The men and women of the Detroit Police
Department believe the city is too dangerous to enter, and they want citizens to
know it.
Detroit Police Officer Association (DPOA) Attorney Donato Iorio said officers are holding the “Enter At Your Own Risk” rally at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in front of Comerica Park to remind the public that the officers are overworked, understaffed, and at times, fearful for their lives.
“Detroit is America’s most violent city, its homicide rate is the highest in the country and yet the Detroit Police Department is grossly understaffed,” Iorio told WWJ’s Kathryn Larson. “The DPOA believes that there is a war in Detroit, but there should be a war on crime, not a war on its officers.”

Or perhaps it's because the Chief of Police is a Perv...
Ralph Godbee was hired two years ago to replace a predecessor fired following an affair with a female officer who allegedly also had a relationship with Godbee. His departure extends the revolving door of leadership in a cash-strapped city. Detroit's next chief will be its 10th since 1991, and several of those were forced out amid allegations of wrongdoing.
"Not having a stable head makes the rest of it unstable," former Detroit Police Chief Isaiah McKinnon said of the musical chairs in the city's top cop's office. "The officers are going to go out and try to do their jobs, but you need a stable head."

Abbott & Costello on Unemployment
COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It’s 7.8%.COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?ABBOTT: No, that’s 16%.COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.ABBOTT: No, that’s 16%.COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s 16% unemployed.ABBOTT: No, that’s 7.8%.COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 7.8% or 16%?ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed. 16% are out of work.COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.ABBOTT: No, obama said you can’t count the “Out of Work” as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.COSTELLO: What point?ABBOTT: Someone who doesn’t look for work, can’t be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.COSTELLO: To whom?ABBOTT: The unemployed.COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work.ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment roles, that would count as less unemployment?ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!COSTELLO: The unemployment number just goes down because you don’t look for work?ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That’s how obama gets it to 7.8%. Otherwise it would be 16%. He doesn’t want you to read about 16% unemployment.COSTELLO: That would be tough on his reelection…ABBOTT: Absolutely.COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?ABBOTT: Correct.COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?ABBOTT: Bingo.COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have obama's supporters stop looking for work.ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like the obama Economy Czar.COSTELLO: I don’t even know what the hell I just said!ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like obama.

Too far...
If you are honest with yourself you know, and will admit, that it has gone too far.
There is only one way to fix it. And that way isn't guaranteed to succeed.
Two fifths of the population are in total agreement with the "progressive" nature of the current administration. Most of that group believe that obama hasn't done enough to "share the wealth". He hasn't given away enough free shit. He hasn't taken enough from the "rich" and given it to those who aren't willing to work for it.. Those who have done absolutely nothing to deserve it. They want him to "do more". There are no facts that you can show them, no constitutional violation, no cronyism, no crime perpetrated by this administration that will change their minds. They love obama.
Does that frighten you?
Another two fifths of the population remember what America was like before it was hijacked by the Progressives. They remember people being responsible for themselves and accountable for their actions. They remember a time before there were laws to prevent you from doing anything and everything and before there were laws telling you what you must do and when you must do it. A time when there was actually some liberty in America. A time when, even though you may have disagreed with your neighbor, you still respected him. It wasn't that long ago... But it's gone. And we are old.
Can you tell me of one thing in your life that the government doesn't have some form of control over?
The final fifth of the population takes considerable pride in being "independent". These are the people who won't make a decision until they know which way the wind blows. They want to end up on the "winning" side. Unable to commit. Unwilling to commit. Always searching for the best deal for themselves.
Then there is the Political Class. The Ruling Class. The Elites. Who are they? Where do they come from? Who owns them? They don't care about you and me. They will never do any more for us than they absolutely have to do in order to assure their continued membership in the ruling class.
Do you think that the RNC gives a fat rat's ass about you? If you believe that they do, ask yourself how Romney was chosen to run against obama.
It's fucked up. There is only one way to fix it. And that isn't guaranteed.

Little Johnny...
LITTLE JOHNNY JOKE
The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited.
Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on
salesmanship.
Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she
said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil
spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
"Very good, Sally", said the teacher.
Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I
explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current
events."
"Very good, Debbie", said the teacher.
Eventually, It was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath.
Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box
full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467", he said.
"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?"
"Toothbrushes", said Little Johnny.
"Toothbrushes", echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell
enough toothbrushes to make that much money?"
"I found the busiest corner in town", said Little Johnny, "I set up a
Dip & Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample."
They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog poop!" Then I
would say, "It is dog poop. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"
I used the President Obama method of giving you some crap, dressing it
up so it looks good, telling you it's free and then making you pay to
get the bad taste out of your mouth."
Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment. Bless his heart.

If...
If I were an intelligent obama supporter (oxymoron, I know) I'd be sitting back right now wondering what the fuck just happened.
He is the President of the United States and he just gave a sub-par performance that a member of a good high school debate team wouldn't be terribly proud of. I expected him to be better.
I almost felt sorry for the man. He got his ass whipped. Bad.
Just to clarify... I'm not a big fan of Mittens, either. He strikes me as an elitist. They all do, really.
I'm also not thrilled about being put in the position of having to vote for someone I don't really like for the job.
Mittens was doing fairly good on stressing State's Rights. Right up to the point where he said that the federal government should be involved in education.
Anyway... I'm underwhelmed.
Let the spin begin.

Castaway...
Operation Fast and Furious was not the only gun walking program. Univision shed some light on another, Operation Castaway, centered around Hugh Crumpler, a 65 year old Vietnam War vet. Guns from this operation were found in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and Colombia.
Mr. Crumpler sold guns at gun shows in Orlando, FL and noticed how certain
people would show up at every gun show. ATF placed him under review because of
multiple sales reports to certain clients. One of his clients, Ramon Lopez, had
links to the criminal organization Torres Sabana in Puerto Rico. Another, Jesus
Puentes, gave weapons to Venezuela and Colombia, which landed in the hands of
the Envigado Office, a ring of hitmen in Medellin. His biggest clients were the
Guillen brothers from Honduras, the country with the highest per capita murder
rate in the world.
ATF detained Mr. Crumpler after six months and encouraged him to become an
informant. He would become the best informant they had in 18 months. However, he
claimed the ATF would not play fair. Like in Fast and Furious, it appears the
ATF made no attempt to interdict the weapons.
“When the ATF stopped me, they told me the guns were going to cartels,” he told Univision. “At that point, that was the first time I knew they were going to cartels. The ATF knew before I knew, and had been following me for a considerable length of time. They could not have followed me for two months like they said they did and [sic] not know the guns were going somewhere and not want for that to be happening.”“They knew the guns were going to cartels and they wanted them to go to cartels.”
ATF didn’t notify Mexico about Fast & Furious and it turns out they
didn’t tell Honduras.
“I got in touch with the US Embassy here in Tegucigalpa,” said Oscar
Alvarez, former Security Minister of Honduras. “They tell me they have no
knowledge as an Embassy of any official operation.”
Guns from Castaway were found in Colombia. Fast and Furious guns were found in the same raid.
~~~~~~~
This isn't new news. It was brought up, and subsequently swept under the rug, a year or so ago. Barely a tiny blip on the radar. The media doesn't want to touch it any more than they wanted to touch Fast & Furious. Why is that?
It's a problem. Actually, it's a couple of problems.
The criminal government is Problem # 1.
The complicit media is Problem # 2.
The American people have to depend upon an honest, unbiased media to report about whats going on in our neighborhoods, our country, and the world. Without that honest, unbiased reporting we cannot know what is happening and therefore cannot make the proper decisions regarding the issues of the day.
It has been this way for a very long time.
The media reports what the government wants them to report. They try to hide from us what the government doesn't want reported.
Our society is rotten to the core.
How do we plan to fix it?
Stay safe.
Child soldiers...
From David P.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama issued a new executive order last week
to fight human trafficking, touting his administration's handling of the
issue.
"When a little boy is kidnapped, turned into a
child soldier, forced to kill or be killed — that's slavery," Obama said in a
speech at the Clinton Global Initiative. "It is barbaric, and it is evil, and it
has no place in a civilized world. Now, as a nation, we've long rejected such
cruelty."
But for the third year in a row, Obama has waived almost all U.S. sanctions
that would punish certain countries that use child soldiers, upsetting many in
the human rights community.
Last week Obama issued a presidential memorandum waiving penalties under
the Child Soldiers Protection Act of 2008 for Libya, South Sudan and Yemen,
penalties that Congress put in place to prevent U.S. arms sales to countries
determined by the State Department to be the worst abusers of child soldiers in
their militaries. The president also partially waived sanctions against the
Democratic Republic of Congo to allow some military training and arms sales to
that country.
Human rights advocates saw the waivers as harmful to the goal of using U.S.
influence to urge countries that receive military assistance to move away from
using child soldiers and contradictory to the rhetoric Obama used in his
speech.
"After such a strong statement against the exploitation of children, it
seems bizarre that Obama would give a pass to countries using children in their
armed forces and using U.S. tax money to do that," said Jesse
Eaves, the senior policy advisor for child protection at World
Vision.
The Obama administration doesn't want to upset its relationships with
countries that it needs for security cooperation, but the blanket use of waivers
is allowing the administration to avoid the law's intent, which was to use force
the U.S. government to put a greater priority on human rights and child
protection when doling out military aid, he said.
"The intent in this law was to use this waiver authority only in extreme
circumstances, yet this has become an annual thing and this has become the
default of this administration," Eaves said.
The Romney campaign has made Obama's record on human rights a feature of
its foreign-policy critique, with top advisers accusing the president of giving
the issue less importance.
"Barack Obama has broken with a tradition that goes back to Woodrow Wilson
about human rights and values animating our foreign policy. This administration
has not been an effective voice for human rights," said Romney campaign senior
adviser for foreign policy Rich Williamson, who also served as George W. Bush's
special envoy to Sudan, told The Cable in July.
Bush signed the child-soldiers law in 2008. It prohibits U.S. military
education and training, foreign military financing and other defense-related
assistance to countries that actively recruit troops under the age of 18.
Countries are designated as violators if the State Department's annual
Trafficking in Persons report identifies them as recruiting child soldiers. The
original bill was sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
Jo Becker, advocacy director for the children's rights division at Human
Rights Watch, told The Cable that where the United States has used some
pressure, such as in Congo, where there was a partial cutoff of military aid
last year, there was a positive effect.
"After years of foot-dragging, Congo is close to signing a U.N. action plan
to end its use of child soldiers," she said. "But in other countries with child
soldiers, including South Sudan, Libya and Yemen, the U.S. continues to squander
its leverage by giving military aid with no conditions."
NSC Spokesman Tommy Vietor did not respond to multiple requests for
comment.
INTERESTING TURN OF EVENTS:
Who knows if this is true but it's too funny not to read...and forward
This clears up a huge question---1947
Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947,
a little more than 64 years ago,
numerous witnesses claim that
an Unidentified Flying Object, (UFO),
with five aliens aboard,
crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch
just outside Roswell , New Mexico .
This is a well known incident
that many say has long been covered-up
by the U.S. Air Force,
as well as other Federal Agencies
and Organizations.
However, what you may NOT know is that
in the month of April, year 1948,
nine months after the historic day,
the following people were born:
Barrack Obama Sr.
Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
William J. Clinton
John F. Kerry
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer
Joe Biden
This is the consequence
I truly hope this bit of information
clears up a lot of things for you.
It certainly did for me.
And now you can stop wondering why
A Perfect Day...
From David P. in S.C.
By Lt.Col. Dave Grossman, USA, ret.
Author of On Killing, and On Combat
The “Perfect Day” and our terrorist opponents’ possible
plans for future attacks
I have been told (by those conducting interviews with captured enemy
combatants) that when we ask them “What is coming next?” they sometimes refer to
the “Perfect Day.” You cannot understand what they are talking about if you do
not understand the historical reference.
The Sepoy Mutiny in India, in 1857, is an example of a Perfect Day. This
was a spontaneous uprising by Muslims (and Hindus), with everyone giving the
British their “best shot.” Nannies killed the kids, cooks poisoned the food, and
shop owners murdered the British ladies as they came into the shop. And soldiers
(sometimes complete units) killed their British officers and then used their
weapons to attack the British.
The current politically correct term for the Sepoy Mutiny is “The First
Indian Rebellion.” (You can look it up on Wikipedia, where the event has been
The First Indian Rebellion is, to them, George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and
the Alamo all rolled into one. And 99% of Westerners have never heard about
it.
In their dreams and fond imaginations, this is what will happen across all
of the “Crusader nations” who are in Afghanistan. Pick a day, and everyone gives
it their best shot. If just one in 1,000 of the Islamic people in our nations
answer the call to Jihad, it will still be thousands of attackers … Some will
opt for a “John Muhammad/Malvo,” whacking people from the trunks of cars, others
for a Virginia Tech lone gunman in the school. Others will attack school buses,
nannies will kill the kids, clerks will kill customers, cooks (in the elementary
school?) will poison the Kool-aid, etc., etc.
The enemy thinks big, and we (with wishful thinking compounded by ignorance
of their history) keep thinking small. The goal of this Perfect Day, in addition
to terror, is to make us imprison (intern) our Islamic populations (as we did to
the Japanese in WWII), thus making this a “war against Islam” instead of the
current war against terrorist groups and Islamist fundamentalists.
The idea of the Perfect Day goes way back in their culture. Look at the
Book of Esther in the Bible. It takes place in Iran (ancient Persia), where the
Jews are in captivity. Haman gets permission to kill all the Jews on a certain
day. The whole book is about how they turned that around and killed all of
Haman’s people on that day.
This is the terrorists’ dream. Our goal is to prevent it through careful
study and understanding of their history and culture, assimilation (the French
are an excellent example of what not to do in this area), and (most importantly)
deterrence and detection, which is what I teach in my classes.
The enemy can be deterred! They fear one thing: They fear failure! They are
not afraid to die; some of them want to die. But they desperately do not want to
die for nothing! And our goal is to win a battle in the minds of millions of
potential terrorists in our nation, who are asking the key questions: Can I
succeed? Can I get a body count?
The key question we should ask is, Why don’t they do this to Israel? The
answer isthat the terrorists would love to! But Israel is an armed society. The
terrorist is largely deterred from this action by Israel’s level of preparation.
Until we reach the level of armed citizenry represented by Israel (and the
sooner the better!) we are very vulnerable to this kind of attack.
In particular, we can see that states like Illinois (the only state with
absolutely no concealed carry for anyone, anyhow, ever), or California,
Massachusetts, Hawaii and others (with very stringent and limited
concealed-carry laws) are the most likely targets for this kind of attack.
The time may come when, like Israel, we need armed riders on every school
bus and armed guards in every school and every day-care center. And the only way
that we can do so is, like Israel, to depend on armed citizens and armed
teachers to protect their children.
The millions of Americans who are buying guns are not foolish. I would
submit that they are doing the one thing that individual citizens can do, and
that is to arm themselves.
This is America. When faced with a threat, we don’t take away rights; we
give you more rights! But with rights come responsibilities. We give you the
right to purchase and carry weapons, and you have the responsibility to train
with these weapons!
So, let me conclude with a series of quotes from national leaders who have
been in similar circumstances.
“Cogito, ergo armatum sum: I think, therefore I am armed.”
Our forefathers knew that it is not enough to just have a weapon, it is
also vital to be trained in the proper use of that weapon. In 1349, King Edward
III of England told the citizens of London that their “skill of shooting” was
being neglected, and he proclaimed that “every one of the said city, strong in
body, at leisure times on holidays, use in their recreation bow and arrows, or
pellets or bolts, and learn and exercise the art of shooting … that they do not,
after any manner apply themselves to the throwing of … handball, football,
cambuck, or cockfighting, nor suchlike vain plays which have nor profit in
them.”
In 1457, King James II of Scotland banned the game of golf from the hills
on which it was created. He argued that golf was a danger to national security
as it distracted his soldiers from practicing their archery.
His grandson, James IV, a keen golfer, lifted the ban in 1502. Eleven years
later, in the battle of Flodden against the English, Scotland suffered its worst
ever military defeat.
In 1636 a frustrated General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony
unanimously passed an ordinance that said:
Whereas many complaints have been made to this Court, of the greatest
neglect of all sorts of people of using the lawful and necessary means for their
safety, especially in this time of so great danger from Indians, it is therefore
ordered that no person shall travel above one mile from his dwelling without
arms; upon pain of twelvepence for every default.
Being unarmed was considered negligent! Self protection was not just a
personal responsibility, it was a duty to the community! And for over a century
after the danger from hostile Indians was eliminated, there was no suggestion
that this ordinance be repealed. A century and a half later, those people were
the leaders of the armed rebellion that created the United States!
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercise, I
advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives
boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind.
Games played with the ball and others of that nature are too violent for
the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the
constant companion of your walks.
Teddy Roosevelt said, while he was President, that:
We should establish shooting galleries in all the large public and military
schools, should maintain national target ranges in different parts of the
country, and should in every way encourage the formation of [shooting] clubs
throughout all parts of the land… It is unfortunately true that the great body
of our citizens shoot less and less as time goes on.
To meet this [challenge] we should encourage … practice … by every means in
our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving the
peace of the world. Fit to hold our own against the strong nations of the earth,
our voice for peace will carry to the ends of the earth.
Unprepared and therefore unfit, we must sit dumb and helpless to defend
ourselves, protect others, or preserve peace. The first step — … to avert war if
possible, and to be fit for war if it should come — is to teach our men to
shoot.
Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to
take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic
purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and
sacrifice for that freedom. The cause of liberty, the cause of America, cannot
succeed with any lesser effort.
President John F. Kennedy, 1961
A little beer and some philosophic musings...
A little beer and some philosophic
musings
I mowed the lawn today, and
after doing so I sat down and had a couple of nice cold beers. The day was
really quite beautiful, and the brew facilitated some deep thinking on various
topics. Finally, I thought about an age old question: is giving birth more
painful than getting kicked in the nuts?
Women always maintain that
giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts. Well,
after another beer, and some heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with the
answer to that question.
Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby; and here is the reason for my conclusion: A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "it might be nice to have another child."
On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."
I rest my case.
