My middle son just sent me this photo.  It's from a drawer in his shop out on his farm.  Helluva sense of humor.  ;)

Ya need ta check yer drawers more often, Son...

The current state of the coup...

    Photo Credit: religionnews.com                    Liz Cheney

I'm not sure what's going on.  Well, yes I am.  The same people who spent 4+ years unsuccessfully attempting the overthrow of a sitting President are now trying to make sure he is never President again.

Article here

A lot of thoughts go through my mind when considering this circus.

First thought is that even thinking about it is dangerous, articulating it will certainly get you put on a list, no?  ;)

I mean... almost all of the evidence against the peaceful protestors of Jan sixth is based on electronic communications between themselves.

Near the top of my list is how much control the Left has over so much of the media.  I was telling my brother just this morning that if the Republic survives this Leftist onslaught, the behavior of the media will be the subject of journalism classes for generations to come.  Herr Goebbels would be proud.

What we are seeing now, and have been seeing for the past 5 years, is a poorly camouflaged coup attempt by the Leftists against anyone and anything that isn't just like them.

I'm not a fan of Trump.  I'm not 100% sure why, as I believe he did mostly good things.  It was kind of satisfying in the beginning when he would put his thumb in the eye of an establishment politician who didn't like the way he was doing things.  But he went out of his way to piss people off, both friend and foe.  Most of it was unnecessary and contributed to his downfall.  As I have said in the past, he didn't act very Presidential at times.  That's probably okay, to a point.  But that's another subject for another time.

I'm kind of surprised that we aren't hearing much about Nancy Pelosi these days.  I think she is a primary driving force behind the coup...

The Democrats obviously don't give a shit about the Will of the People.  The Republicans aren't much better.  What surprises me is the level of stupidity that rank-and-file Democrats have sunk to in order for the Party to convince them that not only is it ok, but it is encouraged, to hate and belittle and deride all of those who aren't Leftists.

We are in a really fucked up place and people are too stupid to recognize it.

The Jan sixth protests were, I believe, in some folks' minds, about correcting the slide to the Left.  The problem is that it seems the majority of the people caught up in the protests that day had no true idea what they were doing.  They were just there and got caught up in the moment.  If Leftists get caught up in the moment and destroy cities and leave dead people in their wake it's ok.  It's all in the name of social justice.

Was Trump behind it?  LOL.  That is what the "commission" is out to prove determine.  If the protestors were there at the Capitol based on the power of Trump's personality, we have bigger problems than just the Democrats.

Today is day 369 of waiting for the approval of my tax stamps so I can go pick up 2 new suppressors.  ;)

And 9 more days on my most recent trip to fb jail.

Anyway... my 2 cents for today.

Peace

Too good to pass up...

May be an image of 4 people and text that says 'CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & ROGAN Brought to you by Spotify'

I like Neil Young's music.  Don't care for his politics.  Never have.  But I don't have to.  And I understand actions based on principle.  I've done things myself, because... "principle".

SiriusXM isn't the same gig for 'ol Neil.  But hey, whatever.

Peace.

Found while surfing...

May be an image of 1 person, brick wall, outdoors and text

I'm not sure that this is 100% accurate.  There are ways other than introducing fear, to control a population.  Like giving them free stuff.  And more free stuff...

Although, the fear of losing the free stuff might be a powerful controlling influence.  I dunno...

When I was still working, I inevitably always had that single mother who wanted "more money, more hours..."

But when you gave them more money they found ways to work less hours.  Because more money would lower the amount of the free stuff that they were entitled to.

And that game is still played today, according to my friends who manage businesses...  You can't pay them enough to want to give up the free stuff.  It is a mindset, a life style.  It's real.

Anyway...

Peace.

Biden gets to nominate a new Justice to SCOTUS.  Big deal.  It's what Presidents do.

The Democrats succeeded in getting Breyer to retire for the good of the Party Court. They failed when attempting the same thing with Ginsburg, which handed the Conservatives a super majority on the Court after she died. (How did we ever get to the point that ideology is the primary qualifying condition for confirmation of a Justice?)

And 'ol Joe gets to nominate her under the conditions that Republicans put in place when President Trump had a slim majority in the Senate but didn't have the votes he needed to move forward with his (highly qualified) nominees...

I simply hope that whomever 'ol Joe nominates is well qualified and that she can be confirmed quickly, with bipartisan support.

Because I believe that if Republicans go along quietly to confirm a qualified candidate, Joe loses the yuge victory that he would otherwise "win" with a 51 - 50 "hard fought" party line vote.  It becomes less political, less about race, less about gender when both sides agree...  It takes the wind out of the Democrat's (divisive, racist, alt gender-centric) sails and it takes the media out of the selection and confirmation process (as well as out of creating a yuge victory for the Democrats and 'ol Joe).  Please don't tell me that you believe the media wouldn't try to influence this process.  Please.

Any pushback by Republicans will be futile.  It will look like sour grapes.  There is nothing they can do to prevent President Biden's nominee being confirmed.  This is a golden opportunity for Republicans to rise above the fray and come out better for it...

And the Court will still have a 6 - 3 "Conservative" majority.  Nothing really changes other than the Republicans prove they aren't the obstructionists that they are accused of being.  The Republicans prove that they want to do what's best for the Court and for the nation. ;)

There is nothing controversial about this upcoming nomination.  Nothing.  Let's not make it so.

The caveat, of course, is that if Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, or Hillary Clinton become the nominee... lol, well, then the Republicans need to fight like hell.  I would hope that those folks would fail to garner total Democrat support in the Senate and would, therefore, not be considered... ;)  (I know Hillary isn't Black, but her husband is ;) )

Anyway...

Time to stop the stupid and to start moving forward.

Peace.

So, Newt...

What we are witnessing in Washington D.C. right now is political theater at the very highest level.  The stakes are (potentially) astronomical.  Who's going to flinch?  :)

I always kinda liked Newt.  He frequently said what he thought, and he generally seemed smarter than most of his peers...  A logical, common sense, down to earth kind of guy.  ;)

Newt is warning the Democrat members of the Congress that people are beginning to realize that the "Jan 6 Committee" is an illegitimate attempt to intimidate those Americans on the Right, while gaining favor with those Americans on the Left, via political gamesmanship, to gain complete control of the Republic.

Newt is warning the Party that just spent 4 years attempting to overthrow a sitting President, followed by a year of attempting to assure that he is never President again, regardless of the will of the People, that they have been found out. That they are dirty and everyone sees it.  Democrats are being warned that, in the almost certain event that they lose the House and the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections, there will be a reckoning.  And that reckoning will be painful.  Newt is clearly saying that no one, including the current President, is off limits.

I had always hoped that Republicans were beyond the pettiness of this type of politics.  I had hoped the People would eventually see that Republicans were truly working for the good of all, and that the Democrats were simply pretending to "be for the little guy" while trying to rob the people that provide jobs and create a vibrant economy.  I had hoped that, through word and deed, the Republicans would stand above this and shine for everyone to see.  But...  I think they are all corrupt.  Perhaps corrupt in different ways, but still corrupt.  I need to give that some thought.

Anyway, I'm not sure any of it is real.  ;)  But it's fun.

Peace.

19 January 2022

21 Days...

 Well, shit... I have 21 days left on my current trip to fb jail.  Completed a 7 day stint and BAM!!! 30 more days!

I bought my last 2 suppressors from dealer stock on 28 Jan 2021.  My check for the tax stamps was cashed by BATF on 6 Mar 2021.  356 days so far.  The last suppressor that I purchased prior to these 2 took 270 days from purchase to delivery.  Ahhhhhhhh well... the new e-file system promises to deliver your tax stamp in less than 90 days.  Covid.  Biden.  Excuses.

Nick Saban wrote a letter to the US Senate supporting the new Democrat "voting rights legislation" and telling Manchin and Senima to get on board and pass this new voting rights act.  Saban is an idiot.  If he wants to be a politician he should give up his coaching career and run for office.  But in our modern world, the game is religion and Nick Saban is a god.  There is nothing he can do to prevent 101,000 Tide fans from filling that stadium for every home game.  Don't get me wrong. 'ol Nick can believe and say whatever he wants to.  I just find it difficult to see any sincerity in his voice...  And I think he should stick to coaching, since that's what the People of Alabama pay him to do.

Direct TV has cancelled OANN.  Seriously?

'ol Joe is currently polling across the board at about a 36% approval rating.  Because he sucks.  36% of America is Democrats.  FJB.  Anyway, I saw yesterday that one major news source was saying he was 49%.  Ya know what?  'ol Joe's approval rating is whatever the media can make his soft brained followers believe it is.   I can't believe that even 36% of my fellow Americans can support his dumb ass.

When the media continuously repeats what Leftists want, whether those be a majority of Leftists or not, folks start believing what they are told. Pretty fucked up.  The internet, 24 hour news, and social media are a propagandist's wet dream.

Media is powerful.  This meme is from a site called "Conservatives Are Destroying Our Future" Their motto is "#vote blue no matter who #vote blue 2022".

Obviously this statement could be made by someone on either "side", and be accurate.  I don't think Robert Reich is a Conservative.

Anyway, I'm beginning to believe that Americans of all ideologies are too stupid for "self government".

The end is near, I believe.  I had hoped for peace and happiness in my old age, at least on a personal level. I could ignore the world in an attempt to find my personal peace, but the world will still be there.  A world full of Leftists trying to tell me how to live my life.  That cannot be escaped.

Here we are.

Give me some good news.  :)  (Is that a song lyric, or something?  If not, it should be.)

Anyway... Happy New Year.

Peace.

31 December 2021

I hope...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and I hope that everyone has a great new year.

I put up a tree this year.  First time since my Judy died.  It was time.  (This is the 5th Christmas she's been gone)  Small tree.  The oldest decorations we have, including the ones she made from a kit for Christmas of 1973, our first together...

Judy's bench and Debi's tree.
Nice spot on the small lake near where Judy grew up.

Judy's bench

Debi's tree.  Debi was my SIL, my younger brother's wife.

Christmas 1973, our first together

Judy's homemade ornaments.
Paper images glued to die-cut hardwood cutouts and decoupaged.
She bought them as a kit at a small shop in Bad Nauheim, West Germany

This year's tree

I have 3 more days to serve in my latest trip to Facebook jail.  They have no sense of humor.  And it's incredibly obvious that they watch what you like and then label you by political ideology.  And when it comes time to drop the boom, it's likely gonna be on someone who leans Right.  Stupid fuckers.  But it can be fun...  ;)

The Maxwell trial has to be the first of its type in the history of the world.  The protege' of the pimp is prosecuted while the Johns are ignored.  I suspect that Epstein's records contain the names of many rich and powerful people.  Possibly people currently in powerful enough positions that governments could be brought to their knees.

I doubt we'll ever know.

It had to be a difficult decision to prosecute Ghislaine Maxwell.  She had the potential to bring to light individual behaviors that would destroy the rich and powerful men and women who partook of Epstein's favors.

On the one hand you had 4 women who claimed that they were abused and forced into underage sex at the hand of Jeffrey Epstein.  But Epstein is dead, so...

Maxwell.

The abused want justice.  They deserve justice.

But to make Maxwell the sole focus of that justice?

This whole sordid mess fails the smell test, in my opinion.  What do you think?  And yes, I know the media floats photos of Epstein with Trump.  I don't doubt that they were friends.  I don't doubt Epstein and Clinton were friends.  LOL.  I read this morning that less than one third of Americans trust the media.  Weird, yes?  And the media makes no attempt to regain the trust of Americans.  Why?  Because trust isn't that important when your main focus is entertainment.

That isn't Air Force One...

The price of natural gas has nearly doubled since last heating season.  Why is that?  Short supply?  Why is that?  People aren't asking questions... ;)

I know some of y'all are Glock haters (shaking my head) but, have you tried to buy Glock parts lately?  Recoil springs?  Extended slide releases?  Extended slide stops?  Triggers?  LOL.

Not happening.

It seems that there may be a few guys out there who are buying up existing supplies when they become available, then selling them at much higher prices on ebay, and the like.  So I guess some Glock parts are available, if you are willing to pay the price.  I love Capitalism!

It's a good thing that my beloved Glocks work pretty well just the way they come.  ;)

Anyway...

My kitty has been sick.  Several trips to the vet over the past couple weeks.  Finally figured out that she has a severe UTI.  More medicine.  But hey, if it makes her better...

She has Congestive Heart Failure and kidney disease, so the UTI is hard on her.

That's my Girl...

Resting.
(The Gin and Sprite make her tired)

Happy New Year.
Peace.

Whether you are a fan, or not...

 Brian Williams has "retired".  I think.  Maybe.  But he might be back.

The comments on one of the articles that I was reading about Mr. Williams are a pretty good indicator of where the average American stands.  Americans are absolutely and definitely doing whatever their Team tells them to do, with no further thought.  Left, Right, in between... Folks reading the article believed that Brian Williams' comments referred to "the other Team".  That belief is simply incorrect.  His comments referred to politics and politicians in America today, regardless of party.

I'll admit that I didn't watch him much, but he may be as good as it gets when it comes to mainstream journalism.  I don't know...

His words:

“My biggest worry is for my country,” Williams said. “I'm not a liberal or a conservative. I'm an institutionalist. I believe in this place. And in my love of my country I yield to no one, but the darkness on the edge of town has spread to roads and highways and neighborhoods.”

“Grown men and women who swore an oath to our constitution, elected by our constituents, possessing the kinds of college degrees I can only dream of have decided to join the mob and become something they are not, hoping we somehow forget who they were,” Williams continued. “They've decided to burn it all down with us inside. That should scare you to no end as much as it scares an aging volunteer fireman.”

Like him or not, he nailed it with that statement...

"...but the darkness on the edge of town has spread to roads and highways and neighborhoods.”

“Grown men and women who swore an oath to our constitution, elected by our (their) constituents, possessing the kinds of college degrees I can only dream of have decided to join the mob and become something they are not, hoping we somehow forget who they were,” Williams continued.

~~~~~~~
Anyway.  It's almost Christmas.  I spent last weekend and most of this week in southern Missouri reminiscing.  When I returned home I got back to trying to clean my house.  (long story)  I found a shopping bag full of Christmas ornaments that Judy bought in Branson several years ago.  Still in their bubble wrap and tissue from the day she brought them home.  So I looked at a few of them and decided that it's time to put up a Christmas tree.
This is my 5th Christmas without her.  I love Christmas.  Always have.  But she was the Christmas Lady.  Like some people are the Cat Lady.  And I miss her and her decorating.  And I have a lot of "Christmas with Judy" stories.
I haven't decorated since she died.  Well, last year I retrieved and plugged in the lights on her "snowman tree" decoration.  That was it.  It was enough.
My tree is pretty simple.  She has 3 Christmas trees here and a storage room full of decorations.  2 of the trees are huge, one is a small 4 1/2 footer.  I grabbed that one.  I put it up yesterday.  I will decorate it with the ornaments that I discovered in her old shopping bag later today.
I feel pretty good about it.
Peace.
Smarter than a Democrat...
Yes, I believe that my cat is smarter than a Democrat.  Not many folks still supporting 'ol Dementia Joe.  The Independents who turned the tide for him left long ago.  The Democrats are fleeing in droves.  A few holdouts like my uncle who will stick with him to the bitter end.  Possibly the dumbest mofo on the planet, my uncle.
The Democrats have a serious problem.  'ol Joe ain't cuttin' it.  They hate Harris.  That 'ol "we've gotta be first to have a female VP" is biting them in the ass.  Man, Harris was the whole package.  Mixed race, female, anchor baby with no real qualifications other than being a climber and a gold digger.  Who could ask for anything more?  She is the definitive Democrat.
Well, Pelosi is Batshit crazy and it seems that the Party is disintegrating before our eyes.  That makes me smile.  She is struggling to hold it all together.
I might vote for Manchin, if he were a candidate.  I dunno.
Anyway, there's gonna be a reckoning.  I think the Conservatives have finally woken up.  But then again, I dunno...  I've thought that before.
Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see such discord and stupidity in my lifetime.
Been waiting on tax stamps for a couple of suppressors.  308 days now.  The last one was 270 days.  Crazy.  ;)
I'd like to post more but I am so freakin' tired.  Incredibly tired.
Fuck Joe Biden.  ;)
Hope all y'all had a great Thanksgiving and that you have an incredible Christmas.  Luke 2: 1-20...  ;)
Peace
I'm not going to pretend otherwise... I love this cat to death.  But man, her farts stink.  Sheesh.
Social Engineering...
 I suspect that 'ol Zuckie Boy has algorithms that look at your posts and determine if you are a "Liberal Fruitcake" or an "Enemy of the Left".  They look at words and combinations of words, then compare those words with your status as either a Fruitcake or as an Enemy and decide, based on that, whether your speech defies their "community standards".  Context is not a consideration.  Silencing dissent is the only consideration.  If you are a Fruitcake you can say whatever you want...
If you are found to be in violation of said "community standards" you will immediately receive an email from Zuck's team telling you that you have violated their standards and that what you have said constitutes hate speech.  You will then be given the opportunity to admit that your comment or post was hate speech and move on.  If it's your "first offense" you get a slap on the wrist and a warning.
The second time that you violate the rules you get a 24 hour ban.  If you can't control yourself and play by Zuck's rules after that, the next infraction will result in a 3 day ban.  That would be followed by a 7 day ban, a 30 day ban, possibly a second 30 day ban, then you are removed.  Due Process, ya know...  ;)
But, anyway...  because fb is a "town square forum" they can remove material that they find offensive (no requirement to define that...) in the interest of maintaining community standards.  And they can punish you for your violations.  Because, forum.  Now, if they were a publisher, editing content, it would be considered censorship and a violation of your free speech rights if they erased you.   I'm confused.
Anyway, it did my heart good to read today that people are tired of the BS and are leaving social media behind, hoping for a bit of privacy in their lives.  That bodes ill for Zuckie Boy.  He makes his money by selling advertising to people who then use Zuck's forum to try to entice you to buy their product.
If the people go away, the advertisers go away, and the fucktards at fb are forced to change the way they do business, or to go away themselves...
Fuck Zuck.
22 April 2021
I don't know...
 ...maybe we should just stop policing those places where the police aren't wanted.  You know, until they beg ask to have policing back.
Off track musings...
There is an incredible amount of data out there regarding police killing citizens.  About 1000 per year, on average.  About 40% of those folks are White.  About 20% are Black and nearly 20% are Hispanic.  Then the "Other" and "Unknown" make up the balance.
They aren't killed simply because a cop wants to kill somebody.  Well, not in most cases.
Anyway...
On average, 100 (I think the number is actually about 50.  I'll look...) cops die on duty in the United States annually.  Half of those are at the hands of felons, the other half are "deaths while on duty", which could be a car accident, a slip and fall, a heart attack.  It may have something to do with the job and it may not.  It is simply death while on the clock.  And those numbers haven't changed a lot over the years.
Paranoia is a very common mental disorder.  It is very treatable.  ;)
We lost a State Trooper in a gun battle a couple of weeks ago.  Sergeant James Smith.  First Trooper to be killed at the hands of a felon in Iowa in something like 80 years.
I have read that up to 80% of the folks killed by a cop are unarmed at the time of their death.  That doesn't mean that they weren't being a threat...  it simply means that they didn't have a "weapon" in their possession when they were killed.
Disclaimer: I spent some time as an MP while stationed at Fort Hood, Texas in 1975 and 1976.  I hated almost every minute of it.  I came to understand a lot of things about people in that year and a half.  Another story for another time.
I'm not against cops.  I'm against bad cops.  And in my experience people are far too willing to look the other way and give bad cops a pass.  But that isn't what this is about.  It's just the way my mind works.  One thought leads to another then pretty soon you have mush...
Anyway, I think we need to start being honest with ourselves as a nation.  We talk about cops killing Blacks.  If you listen to the media and the voices on the street, the only people being killed by cops are Blacks, and the only reason they are being killed is simply because they are Black.  Bullshit.
We have cultural issues in this country, lol.  Non-assimilation issues.  (That is kind of an attempt at humor.  Not funny, I guess...)
And lets be honest about gun violence.  Lets talk about what the numbers really mean, as a country, when broken down as far as they can be.  #1 is suicides.  (If a firearm wasn't available for the suicide the #2 choice would be poison {pills} and the #3 choice would be asphyxiation {a rope}).  Suicide is a choice.  A bad choice, but a choice just the same.  And the #1 contributor to "gun violence".  A misnomer, in my opinion.  Suicide should be a class of it's own, regardless of method.  I do realize that that fails to support the agenda of the Left...
Gang violence is #2.  Funny how no one wants to talk about that.
Justified Homicide (self defense), domestic violence, and accidents...
I doubt we will ever have that conversation.  And I doubt having that conversation would change many minds.  Because, talking points.
But I think I'm getting off track.  Just rambling...  I've been installing new windows at my house.  Tons of fun.  LOL.  Time to get back to work!
Stay safe.
Peace.
If they don't like what you say, they simply remove it...
 It's their platform, I guess.  Still...
Read the article at the link below.
https://www.aier.org/article/youtube-censors-florida-governor-desantis-and-his-science-advisors/
...and a lot of people are OK with the censorship that is occurring at YouTube and on every social media platform.  In fact, they want more of the words that they don't like to be removed.  Hint: it isn't the voices of the Left that are being silenced.
Stay safe...
