TALLAHASSEE - A graphic painting depicting George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon
Martin was unveiled at the Florida Capitol rotunda Friday.
The Miami-based artist, Huong, joined protesters, referred to as the Dream
Defenders, on their 25th day of camping out at the capital as they urge Florida
Gov. Rick Scott to change the Stand Your Ground law.
The painting, “We Are All Trayvon Martin” shows Zimmerman firing a gun at a
figure wearing a hoodie, but the painting includes a mirror where Martin's face
would be to convey that the shooting could have happened to anyone.
Huong also created a 50 feet long and 8 feet high mural with people who have
fought for freedom and equality worldwide.
There are also a lot of blank spaces, encouraging people to write their
thoughts about Trayvon Martin and social issues.
The artist wants his painting to start a discussion on the kind government
and society people want.
Houng also hopes to display the painting in Washington, D.C.

I suppose that it depends on how you look at it. On the one hand, it appears that Huong (and many others) are attempting to turn Trayvon into some kind of martyr. "Rally 'round Trayvon..." "America is racist"
On the other hand, the painting shows a citizen defending himself from a thug. What could be more American than that? You could step up and look into that mirror and think to yourself that living the Thug Life might get you killed. A matter of perspective, I guess.
I'd call the painting "The Consequences of Living the Thug Life".

Rally pisses me off. She fled the Communists in '75 and comes here to be one. I can't wish enough evil upon here.
That painting has no business at the state capitol. NONE!
These attempts to martyr a thug are indicative of the extent of the rot in our society...
I wonder why the artist chose to portray Zimmerman standing and taking careful aim. Shouldn't Zimmerman be laying on his back? Wasn't Martin seated on top of Zimmerman, beating Zimmerman about the head?
Is this what they call "artistic license"?
David P. ... Artistic License? Sure, taken to the extreme.
It's similar to what the NAZIs did in WWII with their propaganda machine. It is, after all, nothing more than propaganda. The people who see it will focus on George with that big bad gun spitting flames and bullets at Trayvon's back.
Art becomes reality... It's important to tell the story, even if the story isn't true.
