The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....
Next they can start working on those evil power lines as well.
Exactly. Evil. :)
They have been working against power lines. Many attempts to build wind power farms have been derailed by opposition to the power lines that would need to be built between the wind farm and civilization.
Overload... I hear you on the power lines. Here in Iowa, the wind energy capital of the world, windmills are everywhere. They are big. They are ugly. They take up A LOT of space. And, like solar, without huge (yuge?) government subsidies, they aren't profitable. If the government weren't paying the energy companies shit tons of (our) money, no one would be interested in them. If they were purely market driven you wouldn't see them anywhere. Anyway, they put the power lines underground around here. Probably more expensive, but subsidized. They kill a lot of birds, too. Including those huge scavengers known as bald eagles. Crazy world, eh? Thanks for stopping by!
good to shut off the subsidy fundline, hoy?Wildflower
Shutting off the subsidies would be interesting, for sure. I'm not sure people realize how much of what we take for granted is subsidized, like our groceries and milk. I'm honestly not sure what would happen if those subsidies went away. Pretty sure the ol' tax bill wouldn't shrink. The gubbmint has an insatiable desire to spend (our) money... It's an addiction. ;)
I am fairly certain there won't be too many takers on shutting off the natural gas lines. It is due to all that white fluffy climate change stuff that tends to pileup this time of the year. There are literally 10s if not 100 thousand miles of existing pipelines in this Nation alone. All of them cross some water source at some point. There are multiple pipelines running across almost every state except Alaska and Hawaii. The real bitch over the pipelines crossing certain land areas and reservations is that someone is butt hurt about the settlement/distribution of Gubment $$$$$$$ for that particular section of pipe. Follow the money.
The part that gets me about this pipeline deal is that you and I both know that every single inch of the original route was approved before the builders lifted a finger anywhere. It was checked, double checked, triple and quadruple checked before permits were issued and work started. Someone came in after the fact and started stirring shit up. Who knows who it was? Doesn't matter, at this point. Could have been obama, for all I know. Anyway, the bottom line is as you mentioned, someone wants more money.
You are correct sir. The planners and builder types held almost 300 public meetings, they made deals with numerous states, counties, cities, and all the Indian Reservation Officials in the pipelines paths. All the skids were greased long before the first shovel of dirt was moved. I absolutely see Obama's hand on the stick stirring up the sh!t. Yet the Press keeps with their false news narrative about poisoning the water. These lying bastards are the ones who are constantly stirring up the sh!t. I say BOYCOTT their collective asses, and anyone who advertises with them..
Not to mention that the pipeline is basically setting the standards for safety and environmental cleanliness, and it is being laid where 2-3 other older, not as safe pipelines already are.But why inject facts into the conversation, as all they do is make a mess and confuse all the idiots who don't like using their brains.
