The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....

"Who will protect us from those who protect us?"
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Chris Christie...
I know that a lot of folks are sitting out there waiting for the Governor of New Jersey to throw his hat into the Republican presidential race. If you give even the slightest bit of a shit about the Second Amendment I'd suggest you Google Chris Christie Gun Laws and get an idea of what he believes in. Start reading the articles posted there. Pay a bit more attention than you did before you voted for obama in '08. Beware of a smooth talker who says (mostly) what you want to hear but won't give the correct answer to the question....
Here is just a single example:
Chris Christie Fighting to Finish Line

===================================
HANNITY: All right. As governor, now one of the big debates in the Republican Party now is whether or not it’s going to be a party of Reagan and conservatism or those that want a more moderate voice?
As governor, now you’re a prosecutor, so you’re tough on crime.
CHRISTIE: Yes.
HANNITY: You’re running this campaign on fiscal responsibility.
CHRISTIE: Yes.
HANNITY: Are there any issues where you are, quote, moderate to left as a Republican?
CHRISTIE: Listen, I favor some of the gun-control measures we have in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Bad idea.
CHRISTIE: Listen, we have a densely-populated state, and there’s a big hand gun problem in New Jersey. Now, I don’t support all the things that the governor supports by a long stretch. But I think on guns — certain gun control issues, looking at it from a law-enforcement perspective, seeing how many police officers were killed, we have an illegal gun problem in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Should every — should every citizen in the state be allowed to get a licensed weapon if they want one?
CHRISTIE: In New Jersey, that’s not going to happen, Sean.
HANNITY: Why?
CHRISTIE: Listen, the Democratic legislature we have, there's no way those type of things — listen, at the end of the day, what I support are common sense laws that will allow people to protect themselves, but I also am very concerned about the safety of our police officers on the streets, very concerned. And I want to make sure that we don't have an abundance of guns out there.
But listen, the issues in this race are taxes and jobs and spending.

Google him. Read all that you can.
Am I a single issue voter? Let me put it this way: If a candidate is a proponent of weakening or abusing the Second in any way, shape or form, he or she won't get my vote. DQ. Out. Not happening.
Anyway, I'm not excited about any of the Republicans that have thrown their hat in the ring with the possible exception of Ron Paul. I know that folks complain about his stance on foreign policy but hey, perhaps being isolationists again isn't such a bad idea.
Sarah Palin intrigues me. Anyone who scares the crap out of the establishment Democrats and Republicans while maintaining a strong grassroots base must be doing something right.
The problem is, as I see it, that there is really no one out there who will bring this country back together. There are no leaders.
We're screwed. No sense in denying that.
Stay safe.

Looks like two have struck out in one night. You're right, no one is going to bring the country together, so we might as well have kindred souls secede and enjoy each other.:)& Yup, Ron Paul is the best.
The Bill of Rights. It's all or nothing. If you won't support the Second you won't support the rest. Period.
You forgot his support of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque. Gov. Christie is a great thing for the so-blue-it's-indigo state of New Jersey. And that's where he should stay. He's a DeceptiCon in far too many repsects to be what we need in the Presidential race.
Christie is a dhimni. Period. He has appointed a mulso-manic judge to the NJ Superior bench.
So, he is a POS just like all the other career politicians.

Brock... I think Romney can step on his dick all day long and the Establishment Republicans will still love him. People are just plain stoopid.
Six... Agreed. If they don't support the BoR in it's entirety, they shouldn't be in that office.
Wraith... DeceptiCon is the most appropriate description I've heard of Christie.
Rich... Like all of the other establishment politicians, Christie does what he thinks will get him the most votes. He's no Conservative.
Thanks for this post.. I also saw that Herman Cain has some issues regarding the 2nd amendment. Definately things to keep in mind :)
and yes, I'm trying to stay safe and sane out here ;)
Pissed... I'm wondering if there is really anyone out there who fills the bill? Like I said, I like Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. Who knows, perhaps we'll get smart and do the right thing :)
