The sporadic musings of a middle aged man who isn't exactly happy with the direction America is taking today....

Don't feed the bears...
We got a little bit of snow this morning. Perhaps an inch over a period of about 5 hours. The temps have been in the 40s and 50s up until just recently, so the roads are still pretty warm and snow won't stick to them yet. What do you suppose we saw while out hunting today? Yep, a county plow driving around with it's blade down on wet roads. That driver was being paid double time for that today, it being Sunday and all... Of course, he didn't just roll out to the County Garage and jump into his truck and head out to plow water. Oh no. Someone much smarter and much higher up the food chain than him made that decision.
Ahh well...
Stay safe.

Why does that not surprise me. I suppose he was also doing some damage to the wet roads. Dopes!
Adrienne... County roads that received a fresh asphalt overlay this past summer. Seriously, it was 34* when we were hunting, the snow was wet and it melted the instant it touched the pavement. Yes, dopes for sure.
80 degrees here in South Carolina today....
Warlock...80 sounds pretty nice right now. It's 25* here now, heading for 16 tonight.
Brock... It was wet and cold today (we were both soaked to the skin). Not a whole lot of fun, but it could have been worse, I suppose. I passed on a smallish doe at about 7:30 this morning. Kinda wishing I had taken her now... Oh well. One of those "can't miss" 25 yard shots. Would have been good eats! :) We have through next Sunday to hunt and I'm seeing more deer than last year. I still feel pretty good about our prospects for this year.
Thanks.:)
