I suspect that we're going to see something. If one believes all of the crap floating around out there, it'll be a gooden'. :)
I have no doubt that the grabbers want to take all the guns away, no matter how many times they say they don't.
I don't know how many good folk will have the intestinal fortitude to stand their ground when the time comes.
One thing I do believe is that for every one person who says out loud that they won't allow their guns to be taken away, there are ten people who WON'T give them up just sitting back staying quiet.
I think the grabbers are seriously underestimating the resistance they're facing.

Few weeks ago I attended a "gun information" seminar at a progressive church 25 miles from the Pentagon. It was everything I feared. Was allowed to pass around Stephen P. Halbrook's The Founders' Second Amendment origins of the right to bear arms but not to score any other points.
Another attendee brought up the culture war. Who controls the school system from nursery to graduate school? Most teachers and professors believe what about liberty? Most media types except online are ... what? Given enough time to indoctrinate, to propagandize, to change the cultural perception they don't hafta kick in our doors. They can brainwash the issue to marginalize us and change the norm of freedom versus a public danger.
We each hafta be advocates for RKBA. We can't leave it up to a few professional spokespeople to do it for us.
