Disinformation...

So, there was a fella commenting on this meme:

"Nicholas B. The US media has it's faults, but there's a WORLD of difference between it and the Soviet, er I mean, Russian media. It's kind of shocking how so many people don't seem to realize this false equivalence. It's like saying getting medical advice from a 20-yr old's YouTube channel is just as good as advice from a doctor with 30 years experience."

Nicholas appears to be a nice enough guy.     His political ideology seems to be different than mine, which is ok.  He appears to believe that the government checkbook is the appropriate answer for solving every social problem.  Whatever.

It's  just a meme...

Peace

There are a lot of people with the viewpoint of Nicholas out there, and that is ok, as you said.

On the other side, is this man, who presents a very well spoken view.

Question everything.

Question everything. I think a lot of us do that as a matter of course. It has never been too difficult to recognize things that "don't quite fit" in nearly every bit of news that I've ever heard, watched, or read... ;)

I had to go to a different computer where I can listen with headphones (bad hearing loss... lol) in order to hear this. The accent took a moment, but I did it. I'd still like to see a transcript of Neil's commentary. Thank you for sharing the link.

And honestly, I like being able to hear/see/experience all sides of a subject. The Nicholas' are as important as the Neils. I read a bunch of newsletters from different ideologies, every day. The writers on the Right are just as hopeful that you'll believe their tripe as the writers from the Left are. But it isn't so much whether it's true or not, is it? The important thing is alignment with our own ideologies. Those are real. They are (usually) based on a lifetime of living what we determine to be a moral or ethical life. We need to discuss that sometime. :)

I hope that you are doing well.

Peace.
