I went down that rabbit-hole roughly 25 years ago. It took me a long time to come back out. I didn't want to believe all of the things I was seeing, and all of the dots that just kept on connecting. How could so many of the stewards who were supposed to be protecting our republic, be selling it out every chance they got? Why weren't they working for the good of the country, instead of for their own financial and power gains? Why was no one ever held accountable? Then came 4 years of Trump, and the aftermath of the 2020 election. The rabbit-hole just got deeper and wider. I knew the corruption was bad, but holy s&*t! I didn't know it was that pervasive. So, no, there is no looking back. And I absolutely will not EVER trust them or their systems again. Seeing it for what it is, and how pervasive it is, makes me glad I never had kids. The republic cannot and will not be restored without the balkanization of the country, or a s*&t ton of bloodshed, because these people will not willingly give up their power.
I try to keep it all in perspective, though that is incredibly difficult at times. I've never been big on conspiracy theories, but who controls the politicians we elect? Do they do what they do out of personal greed? Who are they beholden to?
