PBS could probably self-fund permanently by licensing and selling full seasons on DVD of things like Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, and various other children's programming that has vanished.

Spongebob was okay for a little while, but now I rank him right down there next to Barney. I'd like to put more holes in him in search of his elusive pea brain...

HH... You're probably right about that, but I think I'd rather raise my kids on Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger and Tonto, the original Superman with George Reeves... things like that. Programs that are more than just "entertainment". Those old programs had a message and that message didn't include subtle references to Socialism to brainwash our children with. I did like Mr. Rogers, though.

Craig... The first thing I noticed about Sponge Bob was that he has a penis for a nose. I figure that the artist who draws him sits back and laughs every time SB is on the tube, thinking about how he pulled a fast one. The kids love SB and he has a penis for a nose and a bright red arrow pointing to his crotch. (I wonder what that signifies?) How ironic is that? He came on the heels of the Telle Tubbies, right after they got rid of the purple one. Everyone knows that purple is the color of homosexuals, right? ;) Cant have a chubby little guy in a fuzzy purple suit entertaining our kids now... It would turn them all into flaming purple homosexuals.

Now that I think about it, I think I can do just fine without either of them :)

Sesame street teaches little kids things, like letters and numbers! Spongebob? Absolutely nothing! PBS has a lot more useful stuff than cartoon network.
PBS:
Shows for kids that actually TEACH them stuff
Educational programming for adults, like NOVA and nature.
Anybody can watch it!
Cartoon network:
Brain-rotting, time-wasting shows.
You have to pay a hundred bucks a month for cable to get this channel.
Soo... any questions?
PS- Soooooooooo happy Obama won!

Anon... Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Sponge Bob sucks, I agree. Any character with a penis for a nose and a bright red arrow pointing to his crotch has issues. That wasn't the point though, was it?

Now that a cell phone is a "basic human right", I suspect that cable will be, too, before it's all said and done.

I am happy that you are happy obama won. It's always nice to be happy.

I do hope that you're woman enough to refrain from bitching about it when it all falls apart. :) Don't play the blame game, don't be an obama apologist when he screws it up. Be willing to pull up your big girl panties and admit that he wasn't all that you hoped he would be.

Have a great evening!
